## About Arbor Sightline
NETSCOUT Arbor Sightline is a high-performance network visibility and DDoS detection platform engineered for the demands of large-scale service provider environments. It provides deep, real-time insight into IP traffic by ingesting and analyzing flow data such as NetFlow, sFlow, and IPFIX. For cybersecurity teams, this means having a continuous, comprehensive view of network behavior that enables rapid detection of anomalies, volumetric attacks, and stealthy threats that could otherwise evade traditional perimeter defenses. Designed with scalability and precision in mind, Arbor Sightline empowers practitioners to identify and respond to DDoS attacks with speed and accuracy. It correlates live traffic telemetry with global threat intelligence, allowing teams to pinpoint malicious activity and understand its context within the broader threat landscape. This intelligence-driven approach supports proactive defense strategies, enabling mitigation before service degradation or customer impact occurs. Arbor Sightline also integrates seamlessly with Arbor Threat Mitigation System (TMS) and other mitigation tools, automating response workflows and reducing the operational burden on security teams. Its centralized analytics and customizable dashboards streamline incident investigation and network forensics, helping practitioners reduce mean time to detect (MTTD) and mean time to respond (MTTR). For service providers managing complex, distributed infrastructures, Arbor Sightline is not just a visibility tool—it’s a critical component of a resilient, adaptive security architecture.

## Arbor Sightline Reviews
  ### 1. Sightline goes beyond detecting DDoS

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darren G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Arbor Sightline?**

I think the best feature in Sightline is the multiple ways we can detect DDoS attacks, using host based or network based signatures. Both of which we use to detect attacks toward our customers, as well as our own infrastructure. The system is easy to deploy in a virtual environment, requiring no additional hardware costs. Sightline is also easily integrated into our customer portal via the available API, which continues to improve with each release. My team is constantly logged into the system, and we see it used daily. The ATAC team is ready to assist with troubleshooting questions, or just general help on how to deal with certain attacks. This gives us confidence in the system, knowing Arbor is there to help.

**What do you dislike about Arbor Sightline?**

My only issue with Sightline is the approach to the various licenses and features. When running locally on our own hardware, certain items, which as flows per second, shouldn't need an additional license.

**What problems is Arbor Sightline solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sightline has allowed us to quickly identify attacks in our network. It is flexible to fit the needs of most of our customers. When combined with the TMS, it becomes our go-to tool for DDoS defense across our network.

  ### 2. Implemented sightline to optimize our DDoS protection

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rodrigo M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Arbor Sightline?**

We implemented Slightline to optimize our DDoS solution and gain better analytics on what is happening.

**What do you dislike about Arbor Sightline?**

I dislike that it is a more expensive solution, but I believe it is worth the price.

**What problems is Arbor Sightline solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We now have a clear view of what is happening on our network regarding DDoS threats and attacks, which allows us to take action on behalf of ourselves or our clients. It also helps the SOC team make better decisions.

  ### 3. Simple and Techy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Arbor Sightline?**

Sightline has a good set of features that can be learned easily and can be applied in a real world scenario to defend.

**What do you dislike about Arbor Sightline?**

Nothing specific in Sightline that I don't like. It can use little more of GUI upgrade.

**What problems is Arbor Sightline solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sightline solves a major problem in my organization as we deploy it as a main tool for DDoS protection, actively monitoring for rouge traffic and threats.

  ### 4. Insights To Our Network

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Arbor Sightline?**

We have our Managed Objects set up to reflect subnets in our system. We use this for traffic analysis, determining highly used subnets and more to keep our network running efficiently. Very happy with SE and the knowledge they provide.

**What do you dislike about Arbor Sightline?**

Keeping up with the updated Shared Settings.

**What problems is Arbor Sightline solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Traffic analysis and threats.

  ### 5. Sight line is an effective tool for monitoring network traffic

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Arbor Sightline?**

The ability to graphically review traffic

**What do you dislike about Arbor Sightline?**

Many times upgrades have increased need for resources which was not apparent from the documentation

**What problems is Arbor Sightline solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The most critical problem solved is mitigating attacks on our resources

  ### 6. Must tool to Defend from DOS

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abhishek S. | Senior Security Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Arbor Sightline?**

Ability to detect different type of DOS attacks vectors and successfully mitigate them at right time. Also, it is easy to add new subnets to the sightline profile

**What do you dislike about Arbor Sightline?**

In our use case, most of the things are at a refined level still having a good baselining of network traffic is required. I see improvement in traffic baselining.

**What problems is Arbor Sightline solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having a single solution to protect your network against DDOS attacks. Auto mitigation against a different kind of DOS is very beneficial. Yes it will help to get more confidence from customers.
