What I like best about Aptean Discrete Manufacturing ERP is its ability to streamline production, inventory, and supply chain processes in one system. I use M2M mostly for financial review and how our products are producing profits/loss. It meets our needs as a small/med sized company. Customer service reps are kind. Our team needs it to input product data, accounting/bus. analyis, AP/AR, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Non Cloud based (current) version: Training materials are not helpful and makes training our new team members very difficult. I would assume each company needs to create their own training materials, videos, and sidebyside learning. Its very hard to find what you're looking for. you need to go to the table to find a list of what reports/activity screens, etc. that you need. The descriptions are not helpful. (What is BASOAN?) its the sales orders, etc. Do we have to abbreviate and then cross reference with another document to understand what i'm looking for?! THEN, there are the column headings in each of the reports (i.e. basoan) what do those mean? Not helpful to understand what that column is or the data inside of it. Again, not user friendly.

We are currently transitioning to the cloud version and it is not going well.

The team has spent most of the time trying to get log in access, permissions, and devices set up when we should already be deep into the UAT. We barely are starting the UAT and are well behind schedule. Aptean should have set up our users, permissions, etc well before moving to UAT. This is beyond frustrating. I have helped implement large scale healthcare charting software twice in my career and this is by far, the most disorganized roll out I have had. 1. We had no idea that the new Aptean would be charged on a user basis rather than a device or seat basis. You can imagine our surprise when we needed to pay for additional users on top of the increased charge to move to the cloud. 2. Set up assist is nonexistent. 3. Log in/user access is taking much too long. 4. UAT is ambiguous even with the migration checklist. 5. Migration best practices are not offered/outlined by Aptean (despite customers being forced to migrate to the cloud.) This doesn't give me confidence that Aptean has thought through their migration program, or is putting customers first over profit/convenience for Aptean.

This leaves me to believe that our company is held hostage, at least in the short run, to continue to use Aptean. We will need to weigh the benefits of the new M2M with the pain of a different software implementation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Customizations: 1. I can't expand or minimize details or summary on purchasing queue. 2. We no longer have column chooser on queue or other pages to condense or hide information given if unnecessary. 3. Most every time I log into AppCentral, I get an Authentication Error. 4. When completing information in a field, if you type exactly what is correct but do not choose the drop down, the information shows as invalid. We also have a long pause for that dropdown to even pop up, which is frustrating when we can just type in the correct option without even using the dropdown. 5.Lack of background color styles to choose from. It really helps with production optimizations, cuts the maintenance cost, reduces waste, and improves consistency. The AI also speeds up inspection and reduces holding costs. In my experience, version 8.0 in the cloud has made accessibility much better. With each window in M2M now having its own tab, it’s easy for users to organize windows across multiple screens and compare data side by side. I also find the “My Reports” feature helpful for saving reports, which allows M2M users to continue their work efficiently. Because of software issues, malfunctions have occurred, harming user trust. Monthly fixes bring ongoing bug issues and long waiting times for solutions. The bugs are making software functions fail, decreasing trust and hindering production.

1. The RPCSTA report has a long-standing bug that generates incorrect data.

2. Physical inventory errors resulted from skipped inventory clearing steps during part posting. Our company had over 7000 physical inventory tags and could only post them in batches of 2000. We were warned if “Yes” was selected when the prompt to clear out unaccounted inventory would zero all inventory, including prior batches, leaving unaccounted items and inaccurate stock levels.

3. Because M2M requires list selections in various windows, M2M 8.0 data entry takes extra steps. For instance, in the item master when searching for a part number an automated list is generated and if the item is selected from the list incorrect information populates the field. This also happens when entering part numbers into the sales orders.

4. The company was told to keep clearing cache when M2M slows. Before the cloud migration, cache clearing was not a problem.

5. Selections in report windows require double entry. For example, the field defaults to ALL after selecting Single or Range, requiring the user to reselect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Switching to the SaaS M2M version has been a major advantage for us. The ability to access M2M through a web browser has greatly improved remote work capabilities and made it easy to retrieve data quickly using a tablet on the shop floor. Additionally, having Margin Analyzer and Shop Floor Manager integrated into the core product adds even more value and convenience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

One of our main concerns has been the inactivity timeouts that users experience throughout the day—particularly at our Work Centers where Shop Floor Work Center Consoles are used to clock in and out of job orders.
