"Powerful Integration, Needs UI Improvements"
4/5
What do you like best about Aptean Discrete Manufacturing ERP?

I find Aptean Discrete Manufacturing ERP valuable for its freestanding abilities, like tight routing between ORMS and routings, cataloging integration, and the engineering sandbox. The real-world value of live BMS routing is impressive. The system's visual scheduling is another highlight for me. I appreciate the integration with software like SolidWorks or AutoCAD, allowing for efficient and error-free design processes. The sandbox feature is also fantastic, as it lets engineers experiment without affecting live production. The system ensures what is drawn on the computer screen is exactly what’s purchased and built, which stops the classic wire between the engineering office and the floor. What do you dislike about Aptean Discrete Manufacturing ERP?

The most common complaints for the teams using this platform on a daily basis center around the interface. The user interface is clunky and detailed, and despite rollout efforts, it can really use modern visual layers like AppCentral. The system still feels rooted in older software architecture, and navigation often requires an excessive number of clicks. Users have to open multiple windows to find a specific piece of data, which becomes cumbersome. Preferences like custom columns often fail to save, creating a learning curve for new employees who are used to more modern, smooth web apps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Manufacturing Planning and Inventory Visibility with Flexible Customization"
5/5
What do you like best about Aptean Discrete Manufacturing ERP?

What I like most about Aptean Discrete Manufacturing ERP is its strong manufacturing and production planning functionality. It offers solid visibility into inventory, scheduling, shop floor operations, and supply chain activities, which supports better efficiency and more informed decision-making. I also find it especially helpful for managing complex manufacturing processes, accurately tracking materials, and maintaining tighter production control.

Another key advantage is its flexibility for customization, which allows businesses to adjust workflows and reporting to match their operational needs. In addition, the ERP reduces manual effort by bringing multiple departments into a single system, which improves communication, boosts productivity, and increases overall operational accuracy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Aptean Discrete Manufacturing ERP?

One drawback of Aptean Discrete Manufacturing ERP is that the user interface can feel dated and less intuitive than many newer cloud-based ERP systems. As a result, new users may need substantial training to understand the workflows and navigate the system efficiently. Customization and upgrades can also be time-consuming and costly, particularly for companies that depend heavily on external consultants. In some situations, reporting and data extraction aren’t very straightforward, which can push users to rely on Excel for additional analysis. The implementation process may take a long time, and smaller businesses could find the system overly complex if they don’t need advanced manufacturing functionality. "Strong Manufacturing Visibility, but Setup and Reporting Can Feel Complex"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Aptean Discrete Manufacturing ERP?

What stands out most about Aptean Discrete Manufacturing ERP is its ability to bring all core manufacturing processes into one system. It improves visibility across production, inventory, and planning, which helps in making quicker and more accurate decisions. The system is also quite flexible for discrete manufacturing environments, supporting complex workflows without making things overly complicated for daily users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Aptean Discrete Manufacturing ERP?

One downside is that the system can feel quite complex at first, especially during initial setup and onboarding. Some users may find the interface less intuitive compared to more modern platforms, which can slow down adoption. Reporting and customization options can also require technical support, which makes quick changes a bit harder without IT involvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Versatile ERP with Room for Better Integration"

What do you like best about Aptean Discrete Manufacturing ERP?

I like that Aptean Industrial Manufacturing ERP Made2Manage Edition has a lot of different applications. We primarily use it for BOM purposes, but it’s also utilized by other departments for tasks such as financial reporting, maintaining supplier data, and keeping track of the engineering tools we use. I appreciate how I use it daily for building up materials because it makes my job easier by connecting with Teamcenter, allowing me to transfer data without verifying each item individually. This connectivity is a very good option for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Aptean Discrete Manufacturing ERP?

There could be a better connection between Aptean Industrial Manufacturing ERP Made2Manage Edition and other software. For example, the connection between Teamcenter, Aptean, and the segment working in ERP could be improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Richie Oliver of Aptean Discrete Manufacturing ERP

Hasan, thank you so much for leaving us with a genuinely helpful review. Hearing about your experience is truly beneficial to our process of improving our products. We appreciate your attention to detail.

"Streamlines AP with Robust Integration"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Aptean Discrete Manufacturing ERP?

I like how well integrates AP, purchasing, and inventory processes, making workflows faster, more accurate, and easier to manage. The integration helps eliminate duplicate data entry and improves accuracy across departments. With it, AP can quickly match invoices to purchase orders and receipts, speeding up approvals, reducing errors, and offering better visibility into costs and vendor activity. It helps streamline workflows by integrating purchasing, inventory, and finance data, which improves accuracy and efficiency in a manufacturing environment. Additionally, it provides better visibility into vendor balances, cash flow, and purchasing activity, which helps improve financial control and operational efficiency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Aptean Discrete Manufacturing ERP?

Could improve its user interface and make reporting/customization more user-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great cloud access and multitasking, but UI resets and lag hurt productivity"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Aptean Discrete Manufacturing ERP?

1. The ability to switch companies on the fly is nice.

2. Cloud hosting makes M2M easily accessible from anywhere.

3. The ability to have multiple instances of the same application (ex. Item Master) open at the same time helps when comparing similar components, jobs, etc.

4. The dashboard overview is a good addition. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Aptean Discrete Manufacturing ERP?

1. The browse or lookup screens always revert to default column width and order. For instance, the column width for part description needs to be must wider than part revision so it's difficult to display the most useful information on the screen. It would be huge if M2M could remember our preference selections.

2. It would be nice if we could add a color strip to the company header at the top of the window. The added visual helps prevent user mistakes. Ex. Company 01 is blue, Company 02 is green, etc.

3. Open screens don't update following activity in another window. Ex. If I'm in Job Orders in one window and creating jobs in the job queue in another window, if I click on the job order screen to advance to the next job, M2M informs me there are no further jobs. This isn't a deal breaker but wasn't an issue on our server based 7.51 edition.

4. Sometimes the response times are productivity killers. We're accustomed to pressing a key with immediate software response.

5. The navigation window on the left of the screen is a fixed width. This results in waiting for the description to appear with the mouse hover.

6. Too many screens. While I realize this may be so the software can operate on tablets or phones, we went from 3 or 4 screens in some instances to 6 or 7 plus a "more actions" tab. All the extra clicks slow productivity.

7. Functionality. Everything has to work as designed. Not being able to trust that your critical tool is providing accurate data makes proper decision making impossible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Aptean Discrete Manufacturing ERP?

Being able to see the dashboard and adjusting widgets/favorites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Aptean Discrete Manufacturing ERP?

Every time I regenerate then display the queue I am not able to regenerate again later that day unless I log out. It will say that the program is already displayed and will not update. It is difficult to save work when typing in any field that has a drop down because if it is not selected it will not save. It is also difficult to see all line items in a purchase order because you can not expand the screen and the scroll bar is very small. When selecting a new tab, you can no longer see your dashboard. Many of the words/numbers get mixed together and are difficult to see because of the black and white background. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Manufacturing with Room for Usability Enhancements"
4/5
What do you like best about Aptean Discrete Manufacturing ERP?

I like that we can split labor and job costing by material, item, and many other classes and segments. We used to do this on Excel or other tools and had to consolidate, but now we don't need any type of consolidation. It also integrates well with our remaining tech stack. The initial setup was less challenging than we thought it would be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Aptean Discrete Manufacturing ERP?

Usability can be improved and the system can slow down at times. Point and click abilities can be improved. When multiple tabs and workflows running simultaneously, I encounter the system slowdown. Usability is more about the intuitiveness of where every section is and if they were a lot more customizable for tailoring to our needs that would be excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Richie Oliver of Aptean Discrete Manufacturing ERP

Bahar, it's great to hear that Made2Manage has replaced the need for Excel consolidation and integrates well with your existing tech stack. Your feedback on usability and system performance is exactly the kind of insight we thrive on receiving. Thank you for taking the time to share it.
