"Aptana Studio"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Aptana Studio?

Of the functionalities of the Professional version, the most interesting or interesting to justify your purchase is the remote management of projects, but Aptana Community itself has a tool for FTP connection to upload or download files, as well as the synchronization of our contents in local with those of the remote server. Also if we want to make a secure FTP connection with the FTPS and SFTP protocols, it will be necessary to buy the Pro version. The debug in Internet Explorer is also interesting, as not, but if we have the opportunity to do it in Firefox it may be enough to evaluate if we are interested in buying before making it.

A very useful feature is that it provides the possibility of associating a project with an FTP connection to upload and download files directly to a production server.

Additionally, it provides a Plugins administrator for PHP code support, Ruby on Rails, Subversion integration, CVS and Git, support for libraries such as Adobe Spry, Adobe AIR, Yahoo YUI Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Aptana Studio?

Despite being a very complete development environment, being based on Eclipse, this makes it a rather cumbersome IDE and applicable only to computers with certain features in their hardware.

It is paid. and you must buy the complete adobe suite, not sold separately.

To install plug-ins we have the Plug-in Manager, located at the bottom. I would like a simpler process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Aptana Studio Review"
4/5
What do you like best about Aptana Studio?

In Aptana Studio, the best things a liked are the way editor works. It is so easy for a developer to write a code. It also has such a well structured way of showing the folders and the pages. It also has a different color scheme to show .html files, .php, .js or .css. Managing multiple projects is very easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Aptana Studio?

Things that I dislike in Aptana Studio is that, firstly the application takes a little more time than usual. The preference menu is a little difficult to navigate. It doesn’t have a preview option. It doesn’t have option to change the inline height. And the most important thing, it doesn’t even have option to keep back of the code. If Aptana Studio had an option to push changes on server, it would have been great. Installing Aptana Studio n your system is not easy sometimes. It keeps on crashing. It needs a 64-bit processor to install it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Using Astana Studio as an IDE for Web Programming and more"
4/5
What do you like best about Aptana Studio?

I like the integrated development environment of Astana Studio. So far I use it for JavaScript, Python, Java and more. But you can for example program and debug your entire web application in the IDE. There are a lot of extensions/plug-ins available to support different technologies and programming languages. It has a lot of capabilities and flexibility. It is based on the Eclipse platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Aptana Studio?

Setting up your environment is a bit convoluted as is configuring your workbench. At least if you are not a daily user. But that is what you get from being such a powerful and flexible IDE. Aptana was acquired by Appcelerator and is now seemingly only maintained/developed by the open source community... Good or bad... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Not bad, for Eclipse."
3.5/5
What do you like best about Aptana Studio?

Aptana is a proper alternative to those other all-in-one web development IDEs. I prefer open source software when I can help it, and Aptana made it easy. Since it is based on Eclipse, it is easy to upgrade Aptana Studio with other functionality that's already available to Eclipse. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Aptana Studio?

It is a little clunky, but that seems to be the nature of Eclipse. Eclipse being a Java based power IDE does provide extensibility and good portability, but it can also lend to instabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Aptana Studio?

I consider these cons relative to expectations for actual tools offered.

I find few cons, these comments are when used with Mac OSX Mavericks thru El Capitan

Color syntax highlighting often ends after 120 characters on a line

I wish I could select multiple lines and decrease tab indent the same way I can do that and increase it Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
