Nice features for the time it was developed. Pretty stable without crashing. **What do you dislike about Aptana Studio?** Doesn't really compare to what Visual Studio can do. Not a huge community behind it. **Recommendations to others considering Aptana Studio:** Nice free solution for building websites. Maybe not the best compared to other better supported editors like VS Code **What problems is Aptana Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?** Coding websites and WordPress themes. Benefits are a nice editor for Windows that is free and reliable. ### 2. I used Aptana on its early stages. It has many features that will help you through your development and deployment phase of the project. It has VCS from scratch so it will be easy to setup with your Git repositories. It's also has many customization options, you will be able to tweak it at your will. **What do you dislike about Aptana Studio?** It is still the same code editor from 2008. They haven't improved a thing besides VCS implementations. The GUI can be sort of overwhelming at the point where you might even close it and look out for another option. **Recommendations to others considering Aptana Studio:** If you're looking for some IDE for free to develop a huge project, Aptana might fulfill your needs. It's always good to get to know many development tools. **What problems is Aptana Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?** When i was a Junior Frontend developer i used Aptana a lot when managing huge projects. It did help because no other editor was able to do such thing, at least for free. Also, being an open source tool, it made me happy that i could help them out spreading out the word and letting people know their software. ### 3. All the help dialogs appear quickly without taking any additional time to load like many other IDEs. I also like that it doesn't requires much system resources so I can be fully capable of having other tools open to do multiple tasks related to the project like the image editor, video editor, or an FTP client without compromising the stability and speed of my system. **What do you dislike about Aptana Studio?** The installation process is totally tedious and unacceptable! The problem is that as they have the god/promising/greedy intention to cover several languages and technologies the installation phase encounters this situations: - Besides of the 64-bit support. It requires that you have previously installed JRE 32-bit or the program just won't start. - The installer requires node.js and if it's not installed it will try to downloaded itself but it will always fail. I got to solve these issues by googling the errors because the installer's messages aren't clear enough. My biggest recommendation is to offer different types of installers sorted into bundles that suit the needs and scenarios of all users (just like oracle does on java installers) because you can be sure that most users will just let go and go for another IDE. **Recommendations to others considering Aptana Studio:** Install node.js and JRE 32-bits before installing Aptana.
