Aptana is a complete professional IDE which supports vast majority of popular programming languages. Especially I really like web programming support. It covers HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Ruby on Rails, PHP and Python. Git integration is a critical feature for developers and Aptana totally provides it. Built-in terminal ise a big plus when compared to other text-editor like IDEs. Aptana is easy to customize, you can simply set your preferences and design the interface according to your needs. Aptana is a complete IDE, installer and the software itself requires too much space on you disk. Also it consumes more RAM space when compared to other similar IDEs. Aptana may not be the best option for old computers, because system requirements are high. Finally, Aptana 3 installer crashing on Windows 10/64bit sometimes. It's very heavy software, not too responsive and not updated for a long time. A real shame Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Quite fast. Sure, it's overpowered in some respects because it can allow you to switch, but the fact an IDE cares enough to let you do so is cool. I did enjoy it before I went the Sublime way because it was very resourceful. Plug and play fun with some of the irks taken away. Sometimes, it would crash if it not the standalone. Guess it's something you had to deal with at one point or another. It's a Front Ender's dream, so you can add PHP and Coldfusion support. Eclipse is not lightweight at all when you Lego build your layout. These days, though? it's harder to justify a not-so-faster solution than the current guys out there. Code even is a better alternative and I'm no where near a Microsoft backer. Aptana is probably the sledgehammer than can kill a fly or the swatter. If some more of the fat was taken out of the Eclipse part, I'd probably praise it better, but in the look department, it still looks like it came out during the first recession. Modernize it.
