I love that our staff can track their time from any platform they choose. Computer, mobile device or even time sheets if they like that option.

With the challenges of 2020 we've seen spreadsheet and email clutter increase. With APS we have streamlined and refined our payroll and time tracking processes.

The step by step process is easy to use.  And if you come across a problem their tech team helps to remedy the situation in a timely manner.

Sometimes adding a new job location can be tricky.

Having the quarterly tax reports done and the other garnishments taken care of by APS is a blessing.  It has freed up more time to focus on the other aspects of our business.

the mobile time clock is a nice feature.  the issue is with the location services and recognizing authorized clock zones.  sometimes it takes a couple of login attempts to work.

from what we looked at, aps is at the top of payroll software options out there for pricing and features and personal service.

WE get our payroll reports within an hour after processing our payroll

That some of the questions we ask do not get explained well enough for us to understand

Garnishments were a problem but have been resolved.  We should have been given a better tutorial in the beginning of our process with APS.

APS has great customer service, real people working with real people. Doesn't feel saccharine.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

Some features still in development, haven't been a customer long enough to know if these items get checked off.

**Recommendations to others considering APS:**

APS seems to fly just under the radar. I think APS makes the most sense for small companies, but I haven't had manage data for more that 50 people. It might work really well for 50+, but I don't have experience with it on that scale

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building out digital employee records. Cost saving and additional value are the 2 main benefits. We are paying less for more than our previous solution, and 
 we can use it as an HR platform

**What do you like best about APS?**

I love how we are able to input our workers mileage, along with hours worked.  We drive to clients homes all the time. This was a key thing that was missing from every other payroll platform out there. We searched high and low and APS was the only one to offer this ability.  In addition, the on boarding was fantastic.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

As a non-profit we did not like the fact that they had a minimum monthly charge. So basically we are paying for features we are not even using. I would rather pay for what we are actually using, which would be more affordable to us. Every dollar means a lot especially to a non-profit social service agency.

**Recommendations to others considering APS:**

I have to say the onboarding was the best, they got everything set up for me and made sure everything was correct, I had a lot of hand holding during this time.

It is saving me tons of time, so I don't have to do any  data entry and it is easier for my employees to submit their timesheets.

This product is very user friendly, especially when it comes to the Time & Labor Management portion.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

I would say the only thing I dislike is the Time Entry screen, it can be cumbersome.

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently we are not solving any problems.  We used this program to replace our Kronos system.  Even though this is a Kronos based product, it is leaps and bounds better than what they were providing to us.  APS put a nice flair on things and made everything so much more user friendly.

We learned how to run an Expense payroll without  having Salaries pulled in by selecting "Unscheduled" Payroll.

**What do you like best about APS?**

I have now used APS for three years and the service and ability of employees being able to easily use it has continued to be great. APS has continued to have great customer service with prompt replies even during COVID-19 and they have helped keep me informed and my payroll records accurate and up to date with the latest changes.  My accountant also loves the reports and ease of pulling them. My employees have been able to easily see there information and get fast company updates from me on the website.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

There are some limited capabilities with their time clocks so we switched to tablets and are using quick punch.  If your company is looking for a face recognition or fingerprint capability to prevent buddy punching then make sure you have a long conversation as they are still trying to role out some of that technology and it's been the one place I have struggled with them.  They are very responsive about it and are working diligently to have more options.

**Recommendations to others considering APS:**

Do your research and you will probably find that for the price and support, APS is hard to compete with.  They do integrate with other software, I just am not using that piece with my companies due at the moment. We plan to add them when we get a little bigger.

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

APS has turned a lengthy payroll process into something that only takes minutes now.  Supervisors can easily see and adjust time cards causing them to only spend a few minutes in the system where they would spend hours using others. My Accountant can now easily access reports and get them within seconds.  She loves that she doesn't have to wait a month to get quarterly documents and I have all my W-2"s done and out to employees by January 2nd every year.  The 1095 and 1099 forms are also very easy and something I can complete and have to employees by mid January.

Online onboarding that integrates employee into the payroll system.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

Leave and accrual tracking is very difficult.  There is a mix of managers adding time off and employees requesting and it is difficult to audit.

Very easy to administer with great support.

More visibility to employee benefits and changes that an outsourced provider.  Easier to manages employee changes.  Reduction in payroll processing cost.

System is user friendly and cost effective. With employees in multiple states it makes processing payroll and taxes seamless.  Excellent customer service with prompt response rate.

APS is user friendly, fairly simple to implement, and provides all the required payroll services our small non-profit required. Their customer service is excellent and there are numerous resources and videos to help in the on boarding process.

We had employees in multiple states and needed a payroll solution that could accurately and efficiently process payroll and taxes in various states.

**What do you like best about APS?**

A seamless cloud interface.  I have processed payrolls from my home and from halfway around the country.  All in all, our payroll generally takes me less than 10 minutes to process, provided my managers have properly checked and approved time.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

We initially had a lot of trouble getting our QuickBooks exporting down in a way that correctly matched our classifications.  The company didn't really have anyone on staff knowledgeable to help with this and our CPAs had to take care of the majority our configuration on the setup on the exports.

**Recommendations to others considering APS:**

It's a solid product with good customer service, even after implementation.  Be prepared for some additional CPA costs to set up accounting exports if you have a lot of locations, but otherwise, you should be very happy.

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We don't have any current problems.  But they have added several different pay categories and benefit amounts as needed so that we can track our employee's hours and compensation properly.  Our biggest problem when we joined was them was centralizing and automating timekeeping for 16 work locations, and for our managers and staff this has been seamless.

So far, there isn't anything to dislike. It's been a very positive experience overall!

Implementation can feel restricting, as your primary point of contact is your project manager. It can feel as though the project managers are juggling too much but push through, it will be worth it!

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Electronic timesheets and leave requests, and the text feature for staff communications are two incredible offerings. Also brought together our HR and Payroll functions, which were in two separate systems prior to APS.

I really don't have any dislikes.  I have been and continue to be very pleased with APS

Eliminates overburden on office staff.   Benefit of knowing the payroll is correct, easy to access, solutions solved.  Taxes are handled.  W-2's are taken care of.

I would like a dark mode, easier on the eyes.  Also it would be nice if the site were to display PTO (paid time off) on the request page rather than having to go through and click an extra additional link in order to view the PTO (paid time off) accruals page.  

Also, the mobile functionality is not great.  I often have to recommend to my team that they only use a computer rather than a smart phone (I phone, Sam sung, T Mobile, Black Berry, et cetera) or tablet (I pad, think pad, amazon fire, et cetera)

The analytics and ease of doing payroll. My favorite part is the customer service.

That APS payroll Direct Deposit section doesn't have a name for us to put down the bank name, so we can verify it with every employee.

The only issue I have with APS payroll is the ATS system needs an update and direct deposit for having the bank name needs to be added.

The analytics and reporting functions of APS, all in one shop to do everything that deals with Human Resources.

**What do you like best about APS?**

Simple time integration, the import between time and attendance application and the payroll is easy.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

The only downside I have experienced is with paid time off accruals. We have a combination of different "plans" and the conversion to get the balances and accrual times was not smooth. I am still managing the accruals in a separate spreadsheet and making any required adjustments as needed to APS.

We were on an old payroll system and just needed a system with more modern features.

The only thing that I don't like is having three fields to populate when I log in. User name and PW are fine, but also have to enter Company Code.

APS handles our payroll direct deposits and our quarterly tax filings. Also, year end W-2 processing. It's nice to not have to have all of the expertise in-house.

From the HR perspective, our managers are able to easily navigate our biweekly payroll and timeclock for their employees. Reports are easy to pull and the customer service is prompt and reliable.

When an employee is out on leave and the status is changed in APS, they cannot be included in any upcoming payroll. It would be create to be able to include them to cut their last checks and not have to keep updating the status.

I like the functions of the system and reporting. The interface is clean and neat. It is not over-crowded with information. Also, when I need to run standard reports I am able to access them immediately and even download them into and excel or pdf file.

Sometimes when an issue does arise and we reach out to customer service they are not able to answer the question.  They say they have to get back to us or ask someone else.  It would be nice to be directed immediately without waiting.

We have really had a good experience with APS. The platform does not require extensive training nor is it difficult to navigate. It is so nice to have a platform that works just as it should without it being taxing nor frustrating. Also, it has been able to keep up with our ever-growing staff. I have used APS since July of 2018 and have had very few issues.  The software is user friendly.  Easy to get around in the system and has all the aspects I need in an HR/Payroll System.  What I like best is the Customer Service.  You ask a question customer service gives you the answer immediately or they research and find out.  They stick with you until you are satisfied with the answer.  The Customer Service Shines!  I have had other systems and they don't even come close to the APS Customer Service.

I think what I have the most issues with is the Accrual System for PTO.

Benefits of the system for me is the accuracy on the payroll and tax forms.  I like that you can post information on ESELFSERVE.com for your employees.  I can have them sign off on information given.  Performance Evaluation system is very easy to use.

We really like the amount of reports that are available to run, and that they are extremely customizable. The staff is also extremely helpful, they know who we are when we call in for something ( even remember our site numbers) and are always able to immediately answer questions, or help guide us through the steps to complete something.  It is really great that their staff knows the ins and outs of their system so well.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

When going through the steps to batch out payroll, or create reports you just click on a different tab, instead of a 'continue' (or the likes) button. It is a bit strange and feels like you are a missing a step, its not really an inconvenience by any means, juts feels a bit weird and causes us to go back and check all the tabs a few times to make sure everything is entered.

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Besides the payroll features, we utilize the reports in APS, it helps us when responding to unemployment claims, tracking employees actual hours worked ( and using it to justify hiring new staff members when we are showing a lot of overtime), and gathering payroll cost information to send to corporate. We recently started using it to keep track of when to do employees reviews/pay raises and documents/write ups. It is much easier for us than trying to keep everything in paper files.

APS payroll makes my life so much easier! It’s just so easy to login, start a payroll batch, plug in hours, tips, deductions, and submit it! I don’t ever need to mess with hand writing checks again! We doing nothing but direct deposit and even if they employee does not have a checking or savings account, APS has pay cards that I can issue so I can still not worry about checks!

The only issue I’ve found is that there can be only one admin to an account and only that admin can submit payroll batches. That’s even a minor issue as I usually simply call APS and they take care of my batches quickly for me!

The system is very easy to use and I like the logical flow of the payroll process.  The interface is intuitive and not intimidating to administrators, managers, or employees using eSelfService at various experience levels.

We have had some challenges with the eSign feature, where hourly employees are required to verify their payroll submissions and all employees verify leave taken over the course of a pay period.  This does not always work consistently for us.  Thankfully, as the administrator, I am able to override an unsigned time card.

**Recommendations to others considering APS:**

If your analysis is leading you toward APS, then by all means, feel confident in making the switch.  While there are challenges with any transition, APS will go out of their way to understand and accommodate your needs and set you up for success.  I remain convinced that APS was the right choice, giving us much greater value while saving us money.

I am beyond satisfied with our move to APS.  The overall payroll processing system is easier to use than our previous system and provides significantly more functionality by enabling employees to enter their hours directly via website or app and then enabling managers to approve time cards automatically.  The transition to APS took about two months and throughout the experience, APS made it their priority to communicate clearly and effectively with me.  Customer service is clearly a top value, and I am pleased with my assigned team's quick and consistent availability either via email or phone.  Our service, functionality, efficiency, comprehension, and overall satisfaction have increased dramatically with APS, while our monthly payments have decreased.  That makes us one very happy customer!

**What do you like best about APS?**

User-friendly is what I like best. I am not experienced in payroll yet generating a payroll batch is very easy.  

**What do you dislike about APS?**

A little more flexibility. We work 6 hours on Fridays but paid like a full day. It would be nice if the system could calculate 8 even though employees clock in for 6 hours. Also, export time cards to payroll batch individually. 

**Recommendations to others considering APS:**

Customer Service Is is responsive, friendly, and is looking out for the customers. Just two weeks ago, I was late submitting payroll and they still processed the payroll and I wasn't even rude about it. Customer service A++! As I mentioned before, the system is in-depth but user-friendly and easy to navigate. You do not have to be an experienced HR professional to use the system.  

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

APS has allowed us to communicate better among our organization. Also, the ability to acknowledge important documents or training within the system is fantastic. I want to use the training portion more in the near future.

**What do you like best about APS?**

The support group and sales department are very helpful.  They do not have all the features of larger HRIS systems but are growing and developing all the time.  Clients feel like they have a say in what features are added.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

We have been switched to different support teams a few times over the past 3 years.  We have some unique employee situations with part time coaches, faculty and student workers so it is beneficial to have the support be familiar with our account setup.

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We would like a document workflow system for multiple e-signatures.  It’s not available yet but has been sent to the development team.

**What do you like best about APS?**

I like how easy they make it to hire new employees. The new hire process is so simple yet effective that it can be used comfortable by both novice and expert professionals that would utilize this program in their position. The overall implementation of this product and its services can be beneficial across all industries. Everyone wants to cut down on the time and energy it takes to hire a new employee. New hires are already a lot of work before you add in what it takes just to get them input in to your system as a W2 employee and the APS process makes this step of the process that much easier for both the Administrator and the end user. 

**What do you dislike about APS?**

I can't really see anything about the APS software that I dislike. That could change over time but as of now i like all of it.

**Recommendations to others considering APS:**

Play with all of the features. Really get to know the system its nice and easy and so user friendly it is really beneficial to anyone using it. Both admin and user.

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Streamlining the hiring process. We do a lot of new hires and the efficiency in which we can get new reps hired is just amazing. As long as you have a cooperative representative you can have their onboarding packet sent and completed inside of 15 minutes and that is a priceless benefit in our industry.

I don't have to be in the office to process payroll. We are a small company and it's made life so much easier on accounting & the employee.
