**What do you like best about APS?**

Work with real-life people whether over the phone or chat. They're quick to respond and they're constantly updating features to make the system more user-friendly. They actually ask for your feedback when testing new features.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

Some of the performance review features could be more useful if they were able to be more customizable, there aren't many options when creating templates. Also, the way you save the templates could be more user-friendly. But considering they take your feedback into consideration, I assume this will be fixed soon.

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Combining my HR needs in one system.

**What do you like best about APS?**

I like the inclusivity that APS offers.  Having everything in one place is exactly what a growing company like ours needs.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

The only thing I dislike about APS is when I forget where I found the perfect report and by my own fault did not save it, so sometimes navigating back is hard.

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

APS solves all of our job postings, onboarding, performance reviews, benefits administration all the way to payroll.  The benefits provided by APS are all of them!

The reporting is pretty easy to use and adding employees is easy too.

The dashboard and employee experience are fairly archaic.

APS is a reasonably decent payroll and HRIS system. It is inexpensive and mostly works without major bugs, but it is not pretty or particularly simple for employees.

One of the things that has been difficult for us is the timeline between submitting payroll and processing payroll.  It's also not conducive to exception or one-off situations.

the connection between the different areas, I wish we could do everything in one area though, like time and benefits.

the enrollment process for benefits, I don't like the different areas you have to go through just to get one employee set up.
Also the fact we don't keep signed documents in some sort of file

I wish there was a way that the user could change the pastoral employee to no SS taxes and medicare, but other than that, I love it.

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They allow the user to pull payroll back after final submission to make any changes instead of requiring APS to return the payroll for the user. Saves time!

i like that APS is so user friendly. I appreciate that APS continually works on the system to make it even more user friendly and better.

Sometimes I feel as though the "self-help" section isn't as detailed as I'd like. My first instinct is to look there and then reach out to the support group.'

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a staff that consists of field workers that either don't use the computer very often or at all. APS  has helped me with making it easier for our employees to log in to eSelfserve or clock in. They have also just recently assisted our company with setting up a separate payroll account for one of the subsidaries.

Turn around time on returns is a bit longer than some other software.  But this all depends on your bank and other factors also.

Ease of use, and quick response on "tickets" any time I have a question.  Their customer support team is the best!

**What do you dislike about APS?**

Sometimes I have difficulty creating the report that I want, but again I just put in a ticket and the customer support team and get me what I need.

Ease of employee time management and document management.  Applying to onboarding to hire is a breeze!

**What do you like best about APS?**

I came into my current role knowing nothing about HRIS systems, and the owners of my company had severe issues with past platforms. We wanted a system encompassing all business areas, from applicant tracking and onboarding to benefits administration and performance management. APS has been incredible to work with since day one, and their customer support is unmatched. I have a dedicated support team who I can call directly, who knows my name and understands my business. Grateful to have found APS!

**What do you dislike about APS?**

The only feature that has been a little difficult to figure out are the benefit accruals, but that may be more of a user error on my end than anything.

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of my main issues before using APS was applicant tracking and onboarding. APS Hire allows me to see my hiring managers' communications with candidates in real-time, see where candidates are at in the process, and hop in to support if needed. It gave us access to more job boards, which has increased our number of applicants per position. APS also has solved our issue of inefficient timekeeping processes, saving our company time and money.

I had an acutal person assigned to get me onboarded and walk me through the entire process until I was comfortable enough to do it on my own.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

Nothing yet.  The interface is a little intimidating at first but gets easier with familiarity

Saves us tons of time not having to worry about payroll.  Easy reports help verify.

**What do you like best about APS?**

I like that the tool cost effectively manages multiple states. I like the strong user user interface. We have approximately 25 employees and I like that we have been able to manage payroll for years with out incident. Additionally, I like that APS allows us to consolidate our onboarding process which has earned strong reviews from our team.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

The least helpful element of APS is setting up the standard reports. I would recommend that APS work more closely with the user reports to setup consulting specific reports. I would also recommend a shorter time between payroll approval and issuing payroll checks.

**Recommendations to others considering APS:**

I would encourage a demo of APS and compare the cost to Quickbooks. I think users will find that APS is the better more cost effective option that will be able to scale with the business.

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have employees across DC, VA, MD, and other states with so much remote work and APS allows us to manage these jurisdictions effectively. We have also used APS Hire and Performance Reviews which have proven to be good add-on products.

**What do you like best about APS?**

APS has great customer service.  Someone is always available and quickly resolves my issues or answers my questions.  The site is easy to use.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

The only item that I wish was different is the Attendance Calendar.  My supervisors can only see their employees/departments, and I would prefer that they see all employees/departments.  We are a small company, and this would benefit us.  Other than that,  I have not found anything I dislike about APS.  I wish I had found them earlier.

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All of my HR information is housed in one location now.  I do not have to have several different systems to manage the team.

I have been very impressed with the customer service.  I know I can pick up the phone,  and someone will answer.  If my question is not urgent, I can email them, and they will respond promptly.   Also, employee online access is very convenient.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

There is one accounting report that I run after each payroll.  It does not have the option of running that report for multiple payrolls.  I then copy and paste to get the accounting detail for a whole month.   APS is payroll software, so a few things on the accounting side could be improved.

We have only one employee that handles our payroll.  We know APS could help process our payroll if there is an emergency and that person is not available.

We use APS Payroll and APS Hire. This is a powerful combination of tools. It is intuitive for most day-to-day tasks , has a massive collection of articles and videos in the Help library, AND an extremely responsive service team that can answer any question or situation we have thrown their way. I in no way have ever felt I was alone and unsupported.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

I must be very careful when choosing my words when asking for help! I have to be more specific. The program does not read my mind! The upside is that, in sifting thru the suggested Help articles, I also learned more about the program!

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our GL is Great Plains. We have always had to make time-consuming accommodations to get payroll information into Great Plains. With the reporting in APS, we can create Excel files that can be copied and pasted into GP without error! We are saving time with how APS is organized. Previously we have had to enter payroll details Employee by Employee. Each pay period, we were re-entering the same information for each employee. We require less time to complete payroll, which allows us to move on to other accounting functions. We actually have eliminated one staff position.

I love that there are layers for checking the accuracy of payroll runs. With all of the variations we have with each payroll, it is essential that we have the opportunity to check our accuracy at multiple levels. Another definite upside is the help/assistance that is available if needed. They are quick and responsive! The reports are also fabulous and easy to find and work with!

**What do you dislike about APS?**

Tax account support. Though they're far more knowledgeable and helpful than our previous provider, the support for tax account and tax notice questions is slow and usually not as helpful as I would like. I do end up completing a lot of the state tax items on my own, including occasionally filing and paying for monthly or quarterly reports.

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paying our 1099 independent contractors through direct deposit as well as completing and filing 1099s, W-2s, and various state tax reports and payments. Having APS complete those items takes a ton off of my plate and allows me to focus on our company's mission.

Their hiring and recruiting platforms are easy for me to configure and change based on our needs.  If you get stuck, their team is available to help, but we can update quickly on our own as well.

The employee integration to Intacct still needs a little work.  Payroll JE's integrate seamlessly, but we haven't quite figured out how to match up the employee records with the appropriate employee setup in Intacct... YET!  They're working on it :)

APS helped us eliminate ALL physical paperwork when recruiting and on-boarding employees.  All NDA's, offer letters, and other forms were accommodated.  Also, my GL JE's are auto-created and sent to Intacct, eliminating time spent keying or uploading a payroll JE.

The most helpful thing for APS is the integration. I am able to directly pull hours in APS from R365 which makes the "import" process much faster.

We have a few different companies set up within APS. It is very annoying to have to "load" up each company when I am switching through. Especially when running a particular report, I can't run the same report for a different company until I switch companies.

We use ADP for 401K management and they have developed automatic integration so we do not have to worry about creating files to upload to ADP for employee withholding.

APS does it all for me with carrier connections all my Benefit enrollments are done for me no more logging into separate sites.  Reporting is exceptional, I can get the information that I need when I need it.

**What do you like best about APS?**

Love that APS offers all aspects of an HRIS system at an AFFORDABLE price.  We are a small business and can't afford the big name payroll vendors, but get everything they offer at APS for a price we can afford as a small business.  I also like that APS owns its system.  Our past payroll provider used a platform they didn't own and thus couldn't make any changes for their customers.  APS has their own development team that we can give recommendations and suggestions for improving the system.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

Their reporting capabilities could be improved.  They are aware of this and it is my understanding their development team is working on enhancing their reporting functionality extensively.

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were able to bring all of our companies together on ONE HRIS system and are utilizing their Benefits module and Carrier Connection to reduce and minimize the administrative tasks our HR team was having to do manually.  Our employees love the ease of the mobile app and its allowed both our managers and employees to become more self-sufficient in tasks they used to come to HR for regularly.
