**What do you like best about APS?**

APS is extremely easy to use for payroll.  It is fast and very user-friendly.  We are ever-expanding, and I like that APS helps us with the tax registrations in new states, something I used to have to do myself.  They have taken a lot of the payroll burden off of my plate.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

I would make some functional changes, add a bit of new features, but obviously most everyone would make it exactly the way they like if they could.  Things are moving a bit slow at the moment, but Covid seems to have slowed everything down so I'm not sure how much I could fault APS for that.

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

APS has helps us beginning with APS Hire, which automates job postings for us and streamlines adding new employees to the payroll solutions,  Applicants can be scored and notes made, tests given and interviews scheduled right from APS.  The information carries from one platform to the next, stopping the need to reenter everything again and again.  We chose APS because it integrates with our accounting software and our retirement provider.

**What do you like best about APS?**

I like the multiple tracking features that APS offers, such as OSHA 300a, and the full reports that you can pull regarding pay, deductions, and the many others. I do enjoy the turnover tracking as well, definitely keeps things in perspective.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

I don't like that I can't pull specific date range hours (only can pull hours based on paydate) very inconvenient when reviewing for FMLA and vacation hours.

**Recommendations to others considering APS:**

Great Payroll system compared to other system I was using before (Compeat Payroll) Definitely review all features that your company is looking for before committing, but overall I do enjoy the program.

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The OSHA reporting itself is extremely helpful within our company; we were using an internal tracking for OSHA before and doing all calculations for the OSHA 300a report ourselves, so having the system help and automate the report is very timely in getting the report in.

**What do you like best about APS?**

My favorite thing about this HRIS is I have all functions on one system. HR, Payroll, Recruiting, ATS, Time management, Performance Reviews, Benefit Administration! And it's mostly all available on the mobile app to which makes this EXTREMELY helpful for my employees (trucking industry).  I absolutely LOVE the e-signature function, I use this often!! And the notification option makes sending mass emails or text messages a breeze!

**What do you dislike about APS?**

The basic reporting is basic, it really needs help in design & formatting (color coding) and having more information available on one report for payroll. You can get what you need from a couple reports, I'm just used to and prefer more on one single report.  I would also prefer having a dedicated line to my rep. I tend to have issues on payroll cutoff date - close to deadline and I know my team is busy helping others but I would like a direct line just in case.  Luckily that's only be a need I've had twice since we rolled this software out and my issue was resolved quickly.

**Recommendations to others considering APS:**

APS is a great HRIS solution for those that are looking for an all in one software. You can utilize separate modules for what your company needs are. It's extremely user friendly & implementation was a breeze!

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems we had that were resolved with using APS was our Hiring/Recruiting/ATS. We were doing this manually, with some help from Indeed but still mostly manual. The APS Hire & Onboarding has made such a difference in the amount of time we spend reviewing applicants and onboarding. The on boarding pieces is AMAZING!!

We moved all our HR/Payroll in house from a PEO so this is all new the Company. It's great having the full control  and flexibility ver our HR & Payroll.

**What do you like best about APS?**

I love the customizability of the program.  We are able to track all of the information we need for ourselves and regulatory and licensure agencies.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

Getting the GL set up was a little tricky, but we got there. The help topics are not very helpful when you are looking for a specific answer but my team is amazing and gets back to me very quickly with the answers I need.

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our biggest problem was having redundant information in several places causing a lot of manual entry and more opportunities for error.  With the full integration of APS, all of the data is in one place. For most things, enter it once and done! This is a huge time saver and cuts down on costly errors.

Ability to complete my payroll and HR duties online at my convenience, and the price is very reasonable.  Their client service reps are knowledgeable and quick to respond

**What do you dislike about APS?**

Cutting a check out of cycle can be confusing.  Doesn't take care of Workmen's Compensation Insurance.

Payroll services.

Some of its features are helpful, especially for really small companies.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

So far it is not a good solution for our mid-sized company. They overpromised throughout the sales process but have not delivered on much. Every time we ask for something that we were told during the sales process would be easy to do, the implementation team pushes back and says they don't do that. The functionality is not designed for multi-unit locations.  The onboarding process is clunky and has no supporting documentation. The implementation has been extremely painful and no one at APS seems to have any urgency to get things done.  The employee upload was incorrectly done multiple times and is still not right.  I could go on and on, but you get the point.

Keep looking. Don't take "yes, we can do that" at face value.

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't know that we are solving any problems.  We seem to have jumped from the frying pan into the fire. The only plus is that the fire is cheaper.

**What do you like best about APS?**

I like how easy it was to implement and to make changes on a monthly basis on a employee by employee basis.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

The reporting isn't very intuitive but once you figure out what fields you are looking for I do like that you are able to create a favorites list to access anytime you need to repeat a report.

**Recommendations to others considering APS:**

The support team is always willing to help and the software is easy to use. As someone that works for another SaaS company APS is very user friendly and simple to use.

We are a small company and using APS has made it easy to create payroll batches for both on and off schedule payroll runs. We have multiple team members contributing to payroll and the collaboration in real time make it easy.

The simplicity of APS for employers and employees makes it very manageable.

Sometimes the customer service is slow to respond, but when they do it's very helpful and everyone knows what they're doing.

I would set this up before using any other system. Ask all your questions up front. If you want to eventually roll out a new feature, just add it at the beginning and then it's easier to set up when you're ready.

Keeping track of clock in and clock out for employees is super important for me.

The thing I like best is the fact that we have all aspects of payroll and benefits in one place.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

Connecting the benefits choices together is not possible.

**Recommendations to others considering APS:**

This has been a very helpful switch for us to combine all of our HR services into one place.  We upload HR documents, so we no longer need to keep paper copies as well as have all of our benefits and benefit documents in APS as well.  It has been a very helpful system for us.

My advice for others is to look for a system that will meet all of your needs and one that has customer service, videos, and helpful tips to help you use all of the available resources.  APS offers that.

The problems we are solving are having all of our HR documents in one place.  The employee can now see benefits, vacation, payroll, tax info, and any HR documents all in one place.

APS New Hire Solutions is the part I dislike they still need to work on a better soloution to Integrating outside vendors.  Also, APS payroll needs to provide the same text messaging services as APS New Hire.

Two things I really like about APS. (1) APS has an amazing customer service team. Every time we have questions or an issue, they resolve the matter very quickly or take the time to thoroughly explain any of our inquiries. (2)  Customization. The software itself is very customizable. From simple things like specific reporting to very unique things to your company, APS can do it.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

Unfortunately, our company is based out of Hawaii so the time difference is a little hard. However, they still get to our questions very quickly.

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Customization through reporting. Some of our previous systems required us to run several reports to get the information we needed. APS has a "Report Builder" that allows you to customize, save, and edit reports.

The customer service is excellent. The team is responsive, professional, and always willing to help out.

When processing payroll, the system can be a little tricky with transactions that aren't regular payroll. In these instances, I often have to contact support.

They help me with my payroll, as well as process payroll tax reports. They take everything off my hands which is helpful.

Seeing the pay stubs and ease of downloading pay stubs for employees along with the W-2's.
Employees at APS are very friendly

**What do you dislike about APS?**

Onboarding in the system has constant issues due to the multiple branches/entities.  Sometimes people just disappear when uploading the new hires to payroll.
The reporting - or limits to it
Too many issues where support has to address rather than us having the ability
Not a user friendly system....
Lack of ability to reach someone by phone

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With a background of over 20 years in payroll, I find that the APS system would be good for a single entity company, but it appears a bit antiquated in comparison to other systems I've worked with for companies with multi-divisions.  (Workday, SAP and ADP)

Its more easier to adopt the system how it works and we received the a payroll on time plus they have a helpful worker team if you ever have a problem they will be there to fix the problem in general excellent customer service team.

There is nothing to dislike about APS I like APS.

If you are looking for a system works, easier to work, and excellent costumer service  you should choose APS.

It makes it helpful for our business specially the way they set up the system it more organized and like I said easier to work. we have different company under one owner and every time when  I process the payroll it makes helpful the system.

The payroll grid is simple to manually adjust and toggling between employee profiles while processing makes correcting things quick without loosing your work.

If I ever run into an issue, the APS support team is quick to help. So, nothing!

If you have a few people at the organization that can run payroll, this is a great solutions!

Payroll is fast and easy to process, out of cycle runs and manual checks are easily prepared on site.

The support team!  We have a dedicated team that knows my name--and I know theirs--always helpful and quick to respond when I have questions or issues.

Would like the performance review module to be tweaked a little to be a bit more flexible

Talk to their sales team and don't be afraid to tell them exactly what you need---they can tailor their package to fit your needs

Before APS we were a manual system.  I am an HR team of 1 and we have 1 AP/Payroll clerk--and 85+ staff--APS has really made it easier to manage all that information!  APS Hire module has really made a difference in our staff recruitment and onboarding processes.

**What do you like best about APS?**

APS Payroll is easy to use and navigate. The import feature makes it easy to avoid data entry errors and the ability to choose incomes and deductions per payroll simplifies changes.  The Payroll Audit Summary report is a great way to take a snapshot of each payroll batch. I have run 5 payrolls to date and feel very confident navigating the software. It is also easy to run off-cycle checks or print remotely.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

I would like to see a drag and drop feature to rearrange tiles on the dashboards. The user interface is dated.

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1) The main problem we are solving with APS is getting our payroll questions answered in a timely manner.  APS offers multiple ways to contact them including email, phone, and chat. Our previous HRIS only offered email communication which was unhelpful when we needed a response the same day.

2) The report functions are robust. I can easily create a custom report and save it to my dashboard.  I have added several tiles to my dashboard to get a snapshot of the business in a glance.

3) The attendance calendar is a great way to see all the PTO submissions at once. I export the calendar to Outlook and view it from there. The attendance alert tile is very helpful as well. I can see who has a birthday, work anniversary, or time off request that needs to be reviewed. Much like a to-do list for managers.

APS is a very easy to use payroll system that makes our life easier in our HR Department. The customer service is a great resource as well, they have efficient responses with very detailed answers. The best part about APS is the report builder option, which allows me to create reports that are curated to me and our business.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

Something that I dislike about APS is the attendance calendar. I think it could be formatted in a cleaner way to make it easier to find out who is absent for the day when you first login for the day. It seems as if it takes too many steps to find this information when it is crucial and needs to be found fast.

Utilize as much of the resources and bells and whistles as possible!

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Because of COVID, we are not using our APS Tablets. Instead, our supervisors are responsible for entering their employees time. One thing that has been helpful for us is the missed punches tab. It narrows down the list of employees that I need to go back and find punches for. Amongst multiple reports that have been helpful, employee record keeping, etc.

Having a dedicated team for questions. Even if they don't know the answer, they will write you back and tell you they are researching it so you don't feel like your question was asked and ignored.

I would like the help/search feature to be a little more user friendly. If you do not use the correct phrasing, you don't get much help from it and then end up having to reach out to staff to answer the question. I am new to Human Resources and Payroll, so sometimes I know the end result of what I need but don't know how to ask the question or the correct phrase in the search.

If you are looking for a one stop shop, this is it. We use APS from Applicant to retirement and everything in between.

I like the fact that the payroll, HR and hiring module are all linked together and the software is very affordable.

When you have issues with the odd items in a payroll run, it can take weeks to fix.  In addition, it is hard to map to the GL as anything you add to payroll you have to add a new GL code and then it bust the entire upload.

If you are looking at an all encompassing software for a good price, APS is the way to go.

At this time, there isn't anything that I dislike. Even when I've had trouble logging in, finding something, I received quick effective service that solved my problem within minutes.

If you are looking for great customer service, easy to use platform, and cost savings APS is a wonderful solution. The ability to only purchase the solutions you need is also a plus.

APS is extremely user friendly.  It takes no time to teach employees how to use it.  For administrators, it gives you all the tools you need in a very organized platform.

APS desperately needs to give managers the ability to approve timesheets and PTO through the mobile application.  That has been our biggest hurdle.  Additionally, the manager's eselfserve website does not work well on a mobile device when trying to access through a browser.

Payroll used to take 4 hours and now it takes 15 minutes.

We went from using manual spreadsheets to using APS timesheets/time cards. This has saved so much time and reduced the likelihood of errors.

When approving timesheets, the manager has to click on each employee to see the details rather than seeing the the daily summary for the period on the approval screen.

APS provides our employees real-time access to paystubs. The knowledgeable service team also has been beneficial in implementing new policies, like those coming out in response to COVID.

payroll summary reports and ability to do a "one-off" payroll when needed

**What do you dislike about APS?**

The time it takes on APS end to create a new company within the system. Takes way too long and slows us down on acquiring and opening new stores.

Outsourced Payroll and it is our payroll platform; Benefits are being able to pick up the phone and call someone to get a direct answer/fix. that is one of the only reasons I continue to do business with APS

**What do you like best about APS?**

APS payroll is easy to use.  It is VERY affordable.  Reps are always available to help with any concern.  I'm currently using another service for a Christian School, but I like APS much better.  It's easy to generate reports, etc.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

I haven't found anything I dislike.  I haven't used all of the aspects yet.

**Recommendations to others considering APS:**

Go for it!  It is a great product.

Our church is decreasing in size so the cost for APS is very beneficial!

**What do you like best about APS?**

I enjoy the new hire onboarding process. As well as everything is all in one place.  From the hiring, benefits administration to the termination.  They've even helped us find a company to manage our COBRA needs.  I also like how responsive customer service is when I have questions.  They almost always answer right away.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

APS Hire interface can sometimes involve too much clicking back and forth between pages.  I feel like there are better ways of organizing jobs posted on APS hire.

**Recommendations to others considering APS:**

I would say if you're thinking about using APS for your HR needs, then you're headed in the right direction.

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can now involve manager functions that we didn't have with our previous HR system.

**What do you like best about APS?**

The system is very intuitive and easy to use.  We are still in the implementation phase, so to be fair, we haven't been through an actual payroll cycle yet.

**What do you dislike about APS?**

As I said, we're still in the implementation phase, so we still have a way to go before we'll really see what the system's limitations are.  So far, I haven't really found anything that I don't like.

**Recommendations to others considering APS:**

It may not be as well known as ADP, but I believe APS's customer service and implementation process is superior.

**What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our current system is confusing, difficult to use, full of bugs and not very user friendly.  We also don't currently have an HRIS system, so this will be an all-in-one solution for us.

I find the program very user friendly and when I find myself needing help the customer support team is amazing. I do feel like they may need to be more knowledgeable at times.

Customer service is not always as knowledgeable as I would expect.
