The amount of coaching and access a user has to what they need or need to get done is excellent. The software and the support team (most the time) allow me to get things done quickly and efficiently. If you give an employee a raise on the anniversary of their hire date (yearly raise specific to the employee) there is no way to do that. You have to rig it in a way that you calculate the difference from the current to the new and then base off number of days in pay period they would be paid, then take that amount and add to a column in the Payroll Batch. - it is a lot of work for a common case. Then there are issues around having multiple states. We have two states with employees and we were told they would help us set up what we needed. 5 months later, we still are not done. I think Customer service is amazing. I like having a team to reach out to. I know that there is always someone available to answer questions and concerns. The team is very knowledgeable of the system and if they need they will research and not provide an incorrect answer. The system is pretty user friendly and pretty easy to run and create reports. Group Term Life has to be added in manually. I also have to manually track the HSA and FSA limits for those that contribute under the annual maximum. The simplicity of the website. How easy it is to navigate around and complete your payroll run. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about APS? I do not like how hard it is to submit a bath for a multi-unit company. I have to call in my batch every pay period and cannot just click batch on the web page itself. I also do not like how there isn't a "save" button on the website to lock in everyone's hours, deductions, etc that we just plugged in. There are sometimes when I double check that everything is entered correctly and call in the batch, only to find out that one or two of my units did not receive any hours! And when I call to find out why, the people I talk to have no idea why the stores were left out. And to avoid this from happening in the future, I was told to take a screen shot of the batch page after each unit has entered their info and email the screen shots to someone at the company! That is outrageous! JUST CREATE SAVE BUTTON! And then if I ever do not remember to call in my batch, let's say if it just slipped my mind or if I have other things going on demanding my attention that week, no one is there to catch my back and ask if we are submitting a batch that week. Each company should have an account rep that looks to see when they are scheduled to do payrolls that can call and remind you when your deadline is coming up. They'll never call to remind you and you'll have to wait a couple of days to still do direct deposit either that or you'll have to hand write checks again. Double and triple check that you have all your information entered before submitting your batch. The website does not always save what you enter! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is APS solving and how is that benefiting you? Using this payroll company, usually, simplifies our payroll. It allows us to have control over everyone's information, set their pay, deductions, etc ourselves. We can decide when to run a payroll and even run a random payroll for just a few employees if we forgot about them. It also allows us to easily plug in people's direct deposit info ourselves instead of sending that sensitive information off via email.
