Being a marketing media buyer, I have to experiment with creative ads all the time. It is not an easy task in big companies because they all have strict policies regarding their final product. With Approval Studio, I can see which mockups have already been proofed by brand-manager and lawyer, and I can start working with them. Approval Studio makes the review process more organized and disciplined, almost eliminates the chance to overlook or lose something. We produce cosmetics and dietary supplements. Our offices are located all over the world, so with all localizations, different time zones, and insane quantity of reviewers proofing process takes very long to complete. Everybody wants to proof their way - Skype, e-mail, and some do not really care about proofing at all because it’s not their primary task. For the creative department and for me as its director, it is the main KPI - to deliver the mockup to the printing department timely. Same thing as clients like - simplicity. If something looks complicated to me, I can tell at once it won’t work for any customer I have, and, since I’m a freelancer, I have to value each one of them. My favorite feature is the comparison tool. When multiple pieces of artwork are loaded up, the tool allows for a side-by-side comparison that automatically scrolls across when dragged by the mouse. You can also use to tool to "compare" two pieces of art. Using the compare feature, the two pieces are artwork are compared and differences between them are depicted in red on the right-hand side. Another great option here is the toggle feature that quickly lays one piece of artwork over another and rapidly displays one then the other so you can visually see how the changes look in a rapid, almost snapshot. It's great for picking out subtle differences.

I also really like the report option which allows the user to download a report of all the annotations made throughout the whole project and save it as a PDF. For our team, it's a great way to provide a simple audit trail. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The annotation tool is lacking in options and clunky to use. If numerous annotations appear made on a piece of artwork, they literally just clutter up the screen and get in the way of seeing the artwork. The software needs an option to make a comment and have it appear in the margin of the page and allow for continuous work without blocking the field. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We were struggling to find the right tool for project approvals. With Approval Studio, it was clear within minutes it was the right tool for us. It's very easy to create projects and monitor their approval status. Comments fly quickly and there are reminders - it really helps to receive edits and approvals on time.
