## Applied Epic Reviews
 ### 1. Applied Epic - User Friendly and Time Saving

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christal M. | Account Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I think Applied Epic is incredibly user friendly; and it is not hard to understand even without training. This is incredibly helpful for busy companies who often don't have as much time to train.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

I think Epic is just incredibly diverse and there are so many levels to it. There are probably so many areas that would make my life and job easier that I don't even know about. There are probably already answers to problems or difficulties I have, and I just don't know exactly how to find them.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think it saves me a lot of time which in turn saves us money. the pricing is well worth the value. the integration of CSR24 makes issuing certificates incredibly easy. the onboarding process saves me time training in customer service. it rarely gives me any performance or system issues. and the AI chat I have found incredibly helpful when i have issues

 ### 2. Applied Epic centralizes information, streamlines workflows, enhances efficiency, and organization.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kat D. | Account Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

What I like best about Applied Epic is that it keeps all client and policy information in one place, making it easy to manage accounts, track activities, process renewals, and document communications. The integration with Outlook and carrier downloads helps streamline daily workflows, while the customizable dashboards and reporting tools provide quick access to important information. Overall, it improves efficiency, reduces duplicate data entry, and helps keep the entire team organized and on the same page.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

One thing I dislike about Applied Epic is that there can be a steep learning curve for new users due to the system's complexity and the number of available features. Some processes require multiple steps and screens to complete, and occasional integration issues with Outlook or third-party applications can affect workflow efficiency. While it is a very powerful agency management system, it can sometimes feel less intuitive than newer cloud-based platforms.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Applied Epic solves the challenge of managing large amounts of client, policy, and carrier information in a single system. Instead of tracking activities, documents, renewals, certificates, and communications across multiple platforms, Epic centralizes everything in one place. This benefits me by improving efficiency, reducing duplicate data entry, enhancing documentation accuracy, and making it easier to service clients, process renewals, issue certificates, and collaborate with team members. Having a complete account history readily available helps me respond to client needs more quickly and stay organized throughout the policy lifecycle.

 ### 3. Streamlined Agency Management with Applied Epic

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shabaana B. | Customer Service Representative, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I like how Applied Epic has helped our office be more efficient and streamlined. The new Attachment Preview on EPIC Browser is wonderful because it saves time by allowing me to see if a file is what I'm looking for without having to completely open it in Adobe or email.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

The new order on which notes are shown in Activities has changed recently and doesn't display in date and time order anymore. It now groups all notes from one day in the order of first to last, which makes reading the notes quickly a difficult task. It causes us to have to click 'View All Notes' every time, which is an extra step. Notes need to be in order of either the last one entered being the first on the list or on the bottom, but they need to be in chronological date and time order.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Applied Epic to keep all client activities in one system, which helps me track notes and follow-ups efficiently. It also organizes future events in one place. The new Attachment Preview saves me time by allowing a quick view without opening files completely.

 ### 4. Applied user since 1984

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laraine W. | Systems Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2018

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

Most support issues are handled quickly.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

1.) Applied is acquiring new vendors to integrate new features, but we’d really like to see PAC requests handled faster for our users who rely on the basic EPIC functions.

2.) Many agencies and users have requested improvements, and we never seem to see them implemented. It makes us wonder why the request process exists when items are often closed as “not interested at this time.” We also end up voting for years, and nothing changes.

3.) Reporting has had the same options since we started using Epic almost 8 years ago. In TAM, we were able to pull more search fields into reports. Dashboards are nice, but they come with the same restrictions, so we still can’t get a lot of the information we need. They’re also very difficult for the average person to create quickly.

**Recommendations to others considering Applied Epic:**

So far so good, but be prepared to do a lot of preparation before the actual migration.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Management of client information, accounting, and reporting. We do not use opportunities for sales at this time.
CSR24, Dashboards, PL quoting, Indio (not yet using)

 ### 5. Applied Epic -- functional but in need of improvements

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Savannah H. | Bookkeeper / Trust Accountant, Insurance, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

It is very streamlined and most features are not hard to find. It doesn't change regularly so everything is always easy to find in the same place. For example, statement reconciliations are always in the same spot and simple to find, as well as deposit slips. I like that the program does the repetitive tasks of accounting and bookkeeping for you, such as applying balances to the correct accounts (debits/credits) as long as you enter them in the right place. Example: selecting the journal automatically allows you to enter deposits to the cash account without having to memorize the cash account number, or any numbers for that matter. I did not purchase the product; I only use it for work as provided by my employer. So, I cannot say.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

The program feels very dated. I like that it stays the same, but the overall appearance reminds you of how old it is. Also, everything is locked down for new users and must be enabled by the administrator, which can be frustrating even for the admin. Sometimes the descriptions of how to re-enable a permission do not clearly explain how to enable them on the admin's side, which can become time consuming and also create a need to call customer support. I like having customer support there, but I prefer being able to figure out the issue easily without needing to, if that makes sense -- especially when it comes to customer support being out of office after hours (I tend to work more in the evening after "normal" business hours). Customer support, however, is very helpful. Additionally, you can only attach files into accounts through Outlook, which must also be specifically linked to Applied TAM. This was a pain to figure out when I first started working with Applied Epic, and it is still unfortunate that I can only attach a file this way. I also wish Epic could be accessed -- at least partially -- via a web browser, so that work can be completed from home, without having to install the separate operating system.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Applied Epic for our insurance brokerage, and overall, it's served us well for decades -- with some changes needed. It's especially useful for myself in the accounting department. I haven't worked here before Epic was used for the first time so I can't say fully, since I've been using it since I started.

 ### 6. Epic is actually pretty Epic for agencies

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tina S. | Account Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

The Applied Epic Management System stands out as a comprehensive and user-friendly platform that has significantly streamlined our insurance operations. Here are the key features that I appreciate the most:

Intuitive Interface: The system’s interface is clean and easy to navigate, making it accessible for users of all technical skill levels. This has reduced the learning curve for new employees and improved overall efficiency.
Robust Reporting Tools: Applied Epic offers powerful reporting capabilities that allow us to generate detailed reports with ease. This has been invaluable for tracking performance metrics, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions.
Seamless Integration: The ability to integrate with other essential tools and software has been a game-changer. Whether it’s accounting software, CRM systems, or third-party applications, Applied Epic ensures smooth data flow and reduces the need for manual data entry.
Customization Options: The system is highly customizable, allowing us to tailor workflows and processes to fit our specific business needs. This flexibility has enabled us to optimize our operations and improve productivity.
Customer Support: The support team at Applied Epic is responsive and knowledgeable. Whenever we’ve encountered issues or needed assistance, they’ve been quick to provide solutions and guidance.
Scalability: As our business has grown, Applied Epic has scaled effortlessly with us. The system can handle increased data volume and user load without compromising performance, ensuring that we can continue to rely on it as we expand.
Overall, the Applied Epic Management System has been a vital asset to our organization, enhancing our operational efficiency and supporting our growth. I highly recommend it to any insurance agency looking for a reliable and versatile management solution.I love that everything is contained in one system, a rater, the management system, notes etc

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

There are a lot of steps for creating certificate

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

everything is in one system not having to go back and forth to multiple platforms

 ### 7. Applied Epic Streamlines Operations with Indio & Marketing Automation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mciins . | Account Manager and Marketing Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I like that Applied Epic includes not only a system to manage our clients, but it has Indio the email signature platform, and the Applied Marketing Automation platform. Both are very helpful in my day to day operations.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

One thing I dislike about Applied Epic is the AI Bookbuilder has a lot of kinks in it right now. I do understand that it will take a bit to get it working 100% but right now it kinda makes things a little bit more confusing.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I know that Applied Epic is actively solving the Bookbuilder and AI features. It benefits me to know that they care about our operations as we have had multiple over the phone meetings with our representatives. They are also actively trying to solve any problem that comes up in our day to day which signals that they really care about the users.

 ### 8. Web-Based Epic and Robust APIs Make Integration and Deployment Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew P. | Technical Support Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

The transition to a web-based architecture and robust API access.
Historically, managing thick-client installations and connection helpers on individual end-user machines was a packaging and deployment headache. The shift toward a fully browser-based experience has significantly reduced local workstation troubleshooting. Additionally, the availability of open APIs through the Applied Developer Network makes integrating Epic with our custom internal tools, CRM platforms, and reporting databases much more straightforward than legacy agency management systems.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

Sometimes the Outlook add-in runs into issues, and I end up having to reinstall the plug-in to get it working again.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Because Applied Epic is heavily cloud-forward (Epic-hosted), it shifts the heavy lifting of server maintenance, software updates, and database security over to Applied Systems. This frees up internal IT and network administrators to focus on core network health, firewall security, Active Directory management, and overarching infrastructure projects rather than babysitting an on-premise database.

 ### 9. Easy to use always releasing updates with next generation technology for what we need

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jamie N. | Epic Administrator & Dir. Of Quality Control, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

Applied Epic is always advancing in Technology and with AI becoming a large part of day to day processes Applied Epic is continually added in New features with AI and other new features updates that benefit the end users.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

We are on browser now and and need to look at some browser settings but seems slower loading screens than think client and the connection suite doesn't always update properly. Updates from Microsoft break the Applied Epic Add-in for Outlook and word. Currently in the works to begin the launch of Epic Bridge.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

New summarize AI feature has been beneficial to our Agency saving time when attaching emails to activities and not having to type the information. Applied Epic Dashboards are great working on clean up to make these more accurate and adapt more AI options in the near future.

 ### 10. Fast, Easy Browser Experience with a Great Download Feature

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cheryl E. | Agent, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

The best thing is the download feature. Almost all of our companies download and I just go in and verify sometimes to make things are downloading properly. Since moving to browser, it has been so much faster and the program maneuvers very easily. If I ever have any questions, I just have to chat with someone and they will guide me thru what I need to have done.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

The only thing I have heard about from the bosses is the cost. It is really expensive and any time something else comes out, it costs more to get that added to our already expensive account. We have not done a lot of things because of the expense. We are a very small agency and we spend more on the program than we have customers.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nothing at this time.

 ### 11. User-Friendly and Efficient for Insurance Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Milca C. | Personal Lines Account Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I like Applied Epic because it helps me stay organized and find everything I need in one system, like emails, attachments, e-signatures, policies, and contacts. The ability to stay organized with reminders through activities and follow-up is great. It's very user-friendly, especially compared to the software we used before. I appreciate that it allows us to provide quick service to clients since everything is accessible within minutes. The initial setup was very easy too.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

The only thing I can say is the constant need to click and open tab after tab for things. It would be great if this could be minimized.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Applied Epic centralizes organization with everything in one system, improving response time. It offers reminders and follow-ups, keeping me organized and helping me serve clients quickly.

 ### 12. Epic System

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Angela P. | Insurance Agent, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I have to say it just keeps getting better and better. I really feel like Epic is working to help us in any way possible. Also, having emails connect to Epic is definitely a plus.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

I wouldn't say a downside but i think there is alot to what Epic can do you just have to learn it and it is time consuming but once you have it down it is truly an amazing product.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Applied Epic has created templates that are to every ones benefit to decrease time spent creating as they are created for us to just send to our customers giving us more time to spend time with our customers selling and explaining our coverages.

 ### 13. Dependable Platform That Simplifies Renewals and Follow-Ups

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kenlyn J. | Insurance Agent, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

The system helps me stay on top of renewals and follow-ups, which makes it much easier to support my clients. Sometimes it can feel a little slow, and it definitely takes some time to get used to, but overall it’s a dependable platform that fits into my day-to-day workflow and helps me provide better customer service.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

Dislike: The system can feel slow at times, and some workflows take more clicks than they really should. There’s definitely a bit of a learning curve, but once you get used to it, it’s reliable and works consistently.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The system helps me stay on top of renewals and follow-ups, which makes it much easier to support my clients. At times it can feel a bit slow, and it definitely takes some time to get used to, but overall it’s a dependable platform that fits into my day-to-day workflow and helps me deliver better customer service.

 ### 14. Efficient Management Tool with Some Setup Challenges

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dayna P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I love how Applied Epic makes managing each insured's business and documents a breeze. It keeps everything clean and organized. I really love the activities and notes sections because with the notes you can track everything that has happened. If you have a phone call, you can note it, if you have important info given in an email, you can note it and attach it. Having tasks assigned to activities keeps everyone organized about what needs to be done, and the accountability to mark it and track it. This is great because if anyone needs to answer a question for an insured that isn't you they can clearly see what has been going on with the account. I also like the fact that you can assign owners to things and have it configured so you can run reports to see where everyone is landing. The drag and drop feature and clean notes and activities make it more sophisticated for tracking information.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

I still have a lot of learning to do to fully understand Applied Epic's capabilities, but I've found that creating a new payment link for a finance agreement often has glitches, especially with the financing part. The transaction screen is also challenging to work with because if I make a mistake, it's not easy to fix. I wish this part was more user-friendly and tighter. The initial setup was a real challenge too, although Reagan was a huge help, it was not an easy undertaking and the learning process has been intense.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Applied Epic keeps managing insureds' business and documents easy and organized. The activities and notes sections help track everything, ensuring tasks are clear and accountability is maintained. I love that it keeps everyone informed about account activities.

 ### 15. Streamlined Client Policy Management with Ease

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ethan H. | Assistant Producer, Insurance, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I find Applied Epic critical for my workflow as it helps me fulfill my responsibilities effectively. The system is relatively comprehensive and has a good user interface, which makes the duties of my work simpler. I like that the interface is straightforward and organizes our client policies very effectively. I use the Renewal Manager a lot since our agency has many clients with policies that need frequent renewals. The CSR24 Sign-on is also valuable for processing COIs and creating templates for them. Additionally, the initial setup was relatively easy, and the learning curve isn't steep, just a mild hill that's not difficult to climb.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

I don't have much to say regarding what I dislike as it works well for our purposes.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Applied Epic to manage policies and process renewals. It simplifies my work with a comprehensive system and a user-friendly interface. I particularly value the ease of navigating features like the Renewal Manager and CSR24 Sign-on, which streamline policy management and document creation.

 ### 16. Streamlined Quoting with Room for Policy Link Improvements

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tonnia W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I appreciate that Applied Epic makes it so easy to find everything about the insured and their policies. It really helps that if the information is saved correctly, all downloads for the policy are at your fingertips. When we need to do quotes on our insureds, having everything saved correctly makes it so much easier to get all the necessary information. This feature makes the quoting process or getting answers while they are on the phone so much quicker. Initially, setup was difficult, but after training, it became way easier to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

I think the link between all the policies could be better. It would be easier if you could click on one and have the option to see all the information on the policies without going back and forth. The initial setup was difficult at first, but after training, it is way easier to navigate.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Applied Epic makes it easy to access insureds' policy info and expedites the quoting process. As long as information is saved correctly, it provides swift access to necessary docs during calls.

 ### 17. Highly Customizable, But Setup and Reporting Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danielle M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I like that Applied Epic has so many different options and things you can do, making it possible to tailor it to my needs. I also think the SMS feature is pretty cool because it allows us to text clients. Additionally, I find it user-friendly and appreciate how much easier it is to integrate different programs with Applied Epic now.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

The reports area is very confusing. I always have to call support when I'm doing a report, which makes it clear that I need help with it constantly. It's very intricate and not straightforward at all. Also, the initial setup of Applied Epic was very difficult, taking a lot of time, effort, and a lot of training.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Applied Epic to create clients, process endorsements, and handle key documentation efficiently. The SMS feature is neat for texting clients, and the integration with other programs makes it user-friendly and easy to tailor to our needs.

 ### 18. Frequent Workflow Breakdowns Otherwise Useful Integrations

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

it's ability to integrate with other programs to provide easier access to data for client meetings and use, The epic bridge, when it works, its a great way to track data and make sure items are documented.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

things are frequently broken and workflows break down- the marketing workflows and moving policies from marketed to current was broken for other a month and still doesn't always work right nor do submissionbs move to history when told.
the distribute tab frequently doesn't distribute.
I feel like more time is being put in the screen moderization and making sure things look good rather than the actual product working correctly.
it's very hard to get workflows set and know what options are avaiable and how to program them without a large outlay of funds or dedicated programming employees.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can't think of any problems it has solved, it seems to create more than it helps.

 ### 19. Flexible Options That Let Each Agency Work Their Way

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I like how it has different options to do things and you are not just stuck to one way of doing something. It allows different agencies the abilities to work best for them.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

I dislike the new view on the web based version for forms and hazards. It only allows you to see a couple things at once and when you add or update something it will bump you back up to the top instead of leaving you where you were in the list. This makes it hard when you are reviewing things. I also dislike that it allows you type a certain amount of characters in the system but then when you print it cuts part of it off. This makes it hard for carriers to get the accurate information we may need. The billing is also not ideal. I dislike how you are not easily able to note premium, taxes, fees on the estimated lines and have to put in different spots. This makes it hard to compare year to year total actual premiums. I would also like to see an option to assign an activity task to a group vs a person. On the home page it would be nice to see a list of tasks vs the Activity with the tasks to the side.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Right now I can not think of anything. There are things I would like it to solve but the system right now does not have capabilities. Honestly the more web based updates they make it is becoming a bit harder to use.

 ### 20. Streamlined Insurance Operations with Robust Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Celida W. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I use Applied Epic daily for all of my insurance business, and I appreciate how it serves as my primary command center to quote, bind, and service policies faster. I really like how it helps keep accounts organized and eliminates a lot of data entry by directly connecting my client files to carrier portals. I like how fluid it is, even though it sometimes has glitches with attaching, but that's rare. I use it for everything from printing ID cards to doing new business applications to billing. I also like that I can easily attach my Outlook emails directly to the client account in Applied Epic.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

I wish I could edit the detail once a policy is issued and not have the permissions blocked or denied, which would make it easier to update the information that doesn't require an endorsement.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Applied Epic as my command center to quote, bind, and service policies faster, keeping accounts organized and eliminating a lot of data entry by connecting client files directly to carrier portals.

 ### 21. Solid Structure and Support, But Needs Speed Improvements

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I really like all the functions and capabilities in Applied Epic. It feels like I'm always learning something new that it can do and organize for me. The Book Builder feature is really great for us, especially with the AI functionality that helps cover gaps in coverage we might not even realize existed. It's wonderful for teaching newer agents about the coverages we provide and why, thereby pushing them to round out accounts. Also, I find the support structure excellent; when I need help, I get it right away without having to wait in a queue, which is phenomenal.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

I think the speed of things when using Applied Epic could be improved. After recent updates, everything looks different and it's slowing us down. I've talked to about 20 different account managers, and they all prefer the way it looked before. Additionally, I wish there was a way to attach something to multiple things at once. Right now, I have to edit each attachment individually, which is such a huge waste of time, especially if you add up the time for all the agents and attachments.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Applied Epic organizes and structures our work, maintaining needed structure for organization, allowing effective management and oversight for best practices.

 ### 22. Applied EPIC

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

It can do most things you want, for the most part it is a one stop shop
Customer Service is fantasic, if you don't know how to find something, the portal or calling is quick and easy to use
Time and Date stamp automatically - this can save you in an E&O claim
Global changes to employees - this makes changing employees very easy and simple to transfer all accounts over to another employee

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

The download feature in from carriers can sometimes override items that you need, especially when you have the same effective dates
The proposal templates typically don't generate like you want them to
Within the marketing submissions, I wish there was a "delete all" to delete out forms, drivers, vehicles, etc.
I wish you could keep an activity note open and continue to move around EPIC. Right now, you have to copy what you have, cancel out, then go back in
I wish there was webinars/trainings that is like Applied 101 for new hires. The Applied University is very hard to use to figure out how to just use EPIC for day to day operations
The new modernized screens do not let you use the "delete" key on the keyboard to delete forms or remarks - this makes our job take longer
the new Auto ID card, we cannot edit all ID cards in one single click, we have to individually update each one.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

E&O claim documentation

 ### 23. Detail-Rich and Accessible, but Needs Editing Flexibility

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michelle R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I like how detailed Applied Epic is because it allows me to put in a lot of notes. It's very easy to access, which makes managing my tasks and everything that needs to be done quite seamless. I find that it's a very well-made system to stay on top of things.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

I find it annoying that I can't delete an activity in Applied Epic. It would be better if at least there was an option to edit activities. If deleting isn't possible for audit purposes, having the ability to edit would help, like adding a date and an additional note. Otherwise, I have to create a whole new activity to move forward.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Applied Epic is my account management system. I like how detailed it is; I can put in a lot of notes, and it's very easy to access. It helps me stay on top of tasks and everything that needs to be done.

 ### 24. Seamless Outlook Integration and Vital Drag-and-Drop Features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

The software integrates very well with Outlook, and the drag-and-drop function is vital. I also really appreciate being able to attach documents, such as pertinent endorsements, to certificates of liability so they automatically print with the certificate every time.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

Two years ago I learned Applied TAM and then our agency switched to Epic. I see the struggle of those making this change that had used TAM for decades. The issue is that the format is just similar enough that they need Epic to work the same way and it does not. There are significant issues with the flow. Instead of the drag-and-drop onto a file that allows you to choose an appropriate activity, you must first create an activity. It would have been better if it either mirrored the previous system or completely broke away from it for those that used TAM. Also, just when you get comfortable with the way the system works, they implement changes that don't seem to make sense. Such as, the recent change on the COIs added an extra step. There are Acord forms, such as the Cancellation Request and Statement of Values, that were fully integrated in TAM and we have to completely type them out on Epic (backwards is never good). The new Outlook is not compatible with Epic so you can't drag-and-drop from it. In the Transactions system, there is no way to do a MEM bill that won't hit the accounting side. We used these regularly so now it must be typed out every month as well. This causes issues with remembering to send agency bills monthly.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This system is easier to train new people on, as the workflows help to remind them of all the steps required to process any changes. The AI function for attachments is helpful for those that don't want to summarize and email. Having the system online helps with performance for those at home as opposed to the desktop system we were using before.

 ### 25. Strong Privacy and Security, but Not Always User-Friendly

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

Keeping client information private and secure.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

Not always user friendly.
1) it times out or doesn't load, from page to page and it temporarily removes all information input in the system causing cardiac issues

2) for commercial accounts, it no longer shows the full name anywhere at the top of the screen if its a long one, old one did.

3) when sending change request & claims through epic, they have locked the box so i cannot move it around this matters when i send claims in and its blocking the policy number.

4)Can't adjusts sections to make them bigger or smaller anymore to see more info at a time. Like if I have a list of drivers, I can't expand the section to see all of them at the same time anymore.

5)When renewing certs, the WC "per statute" box unchecks itself when you go to the new year

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to import new leads from outside sources is very helpful.

 ### 26. Applied EPIC - A Game Changer for Independent Insurance Agencies

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

EPIC is a one-stop shop for our agency. It stores our prospect and insured client information, our vendors, our companies, and our employee information. The integration with third-party companies is great and we love the other Applied products such as Indio, CSR24, Analytics, etc.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

We have a unique niche in the horse world insuring animal mortality. It would be nice if EPIC played "nicer" with custom applications & forms needed for this type of business as well as other unique commercial products like Cyber, D&O, Professional, etc. We have created our own custom forms to capture the data important to our agency but it cannot integrate with Indio or other third-party programs at this time.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

EPIC is clearly working hard to bring AI integration into its system, along with the ability to connect with more third-party programs. As an agency that prioritizes efficiency and technology, these improvements will be a real game changer for us.

 ### 27. Makes Daily Insurance Management Seamless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wendy H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I like how Applied Epic helps me keep track of policies, follow-ups needed, and contact information. I really appreciate the daily activities feature because it helps me plan my day and ensure I don't forget anything important. I know exactly what I need to do each day at a glance, and it’s great that I have the option to push tasks out if I'm not ready or look ahead if I have spare time.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

Recently, the primary contact information is dropped out of sight and I have to click on it to see it when I'm not in contacts. I don't care for that. Also, they've added a line below the ribbon showing contact info, which is not usually helpful because it does not include the phone which is the one thing I usually need. I'd like that banner removed and the primary box in the lower left corner back up where it used to be.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Applied Epic to track policies, follow-ups, and contact info. It helps plan my day with daily activities, showing what needs doing and allowing me to adjust tasks easily.

 ### 28. Easy to Use and Efficient—Desktop Version Shines

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karla H. | Senior Account Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

It's easy to use and helps me work efficiently. I honestly prefer the desktop version as the browser has too many glitches.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

I am unable to send something to e-sign without having to close out the person's account. I have to go to another screen to enter the payment amount. When I am creating an activity or endorse/revise, I am unable to go back to the person's account to look up information. After clicking details on an endorse/revise activity, it takes me directly to the policy tab versus the activity.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're not really having any business problems that need help from Epic. Epic does allow us to efficiently store our insureds' data.

 ### 29. Centralized Client Data

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon R. | Agency Resource Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I find Applied Epic tremendously useful as a central hub for all client and policy data, effectively building a single unified client record. I appreciate its capability to eliminate reliance on paper documents by keeping a digital copy of all activities, which streamlines our operations. I like that Applied Epic truly functions as a one-stop shop for insurance agencies, offering an extensive product lineup under one roof. I also value that it is always adding or updating features, often based on user feedback, which helps keep the platform up-to-date and responsive to our needs.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

Some updates seem to be pushed out in haste before they are fully vetted and ready for agent use. Sometimes, it feels as though we are the unwitting beta testers of new products.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Applied Epic as a central hub, centralizing client and policy data, creating a unified client record, and reducing reliance on paper documents.

 ### 30. Efficient Policy Management with Applied Epic

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** MADISON S. | Senior Personal Lines Account Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I appreciate Applied Epic's detailed use in notes applications and its integrations into Outlook and phone systems. It helps with AI integrations and automates activities for renewals and company downloads, which I find valuable.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

Reading the notes can be difficult sometimes when looking for items. I would love a search bar to search keywords within activities. Additionally, the renewals manager needs a compare prior vs renewal term section. Currently, it only lets you see the latest activities, and I want something that generates a comparison of prior term premium vs renewal term premium on the renewals manager screen without having to go into the actual policy.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Applied Epic manages changes, renewals, and quoting in policy management. I like its detailed notes application and integrations with Outlook and phone systems. It helps with AI integrations and automates activities for renewals and company downloads.

 ### 31. Noticeably Better ACORD Form Mapping in Applied Epic

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danica G. | VP of Commercial Lines, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

What I like most about Applied Epic is the mapping in ACORD forms. I’ve used other AMSs before, and their mapping was poor, so this has been a noticeable improvement for me.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

What I dislike about Applied Epic is the number of activities it generates. I understand why they’re used, but for my agency we don’t see a need for an activity to be created for certain tasks or actions, even if it’s running in the background.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having an open API has been really helpful for integrating our system with various software companies. It’s also allowed us to streamline workflows and speed up our processing times.

 ### 32. User-Friendly, But Cloud Issues Persist

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Angi D. | Manager, Producer, Account Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I find Applied Epic very user-friendly and easy to teach to new employees. Instead of taking months to train a new employee, we can do it in a matter of days, especially with Applied University.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

Because ours is in the cloud, we get quite a few errors and have to re-log in to Applied. We also found the initial setup was not easy.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Applied Epic for managing our insurance agency's operations and communications. It streamlines policy management, customer service, and tracking renewals. It's user-friendly, easy to teach new employees, reducing training time from months to days with Applied University.

 ### 33. User-Friendly but Report Generation Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cheryl E. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I find Applied Epic easy to use and user-friendly, except for creating reports. It has enhanced my job performance by reducing the time I spend on tasks. I no longer need to enter all rates manually into a spreadsheet or wait to receive quotes from carriers, which was very time-consuming. It's easy to learn and makes creating comparisons straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

When I need to create a report, such as a client listing with certain criteria, it has an outdated way of having to request the report, as far as putting the specific requirements into the request. I'd like to request a report and choose via a checkmark or whatever the criteria I need.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Applied Epic enhances my job performance by saving time on data entry and quote requests. It's user-friendly, making it easy to learn and create comparisons.

 ### 34. Easy Browser-Based Implementation with Strong Carrier Integrations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian B. | Member Board of Directors and Treasurer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

Browser based for easy implementation. Integrations with the carriers including Real Time and Download are very important.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

Updated and modernized screens are not productive. They were designed without input from the actual users. User experiences are important. In some workflows, we have found that some tasks take 3-4 times longer. Continues to increase and any enhancements require additional cost versus improving and maintaining the product. Continues to increase and any enhancements require additional cost versus improving and maintaining the product.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AI has allowed us to transfer some tasks and free up time for most details problem solving items.

 ### 35. Efficient, User-Friendly, and a Great Evolution from Tam

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

Creating and processing Certificates of Insurance (COIs) is very easy, and the attachment sections of each account make it straightforward to attach all correspondence.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

I find EPI's a little cumbersome, and I need to make more manual edits.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Applied Epic saves time with very little error and handles everyday tasks reliably. It's easy to use and efficient, facilitating easy creation and processing of certificates of insurance. Attaching correspondence is straightforward.

 ### 36. Efficient Agency Management with Stellar Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** jackie l. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I really like the support you receive when you don't know something. I also find the ability to take payments from clients through the Applied Pay portal very useful. It provides our clients a place to make their payments instead of us doing it for them or having them send payments by mail.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

I find the accounting process in Applied Epic involves too many steps to get one thing done. Specifically, I think that receipts and disbursements should be combined into one step. Also, the initial setup of Applied Epic was a bit challenging since none of us had worked with Applied before.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Applied Epic helps me with pulling reports and managing premiums. Its Applied Pay portal allows our clients to make payments easily, reducing our manual processing and mailing time.

 ### 37. Easy to Find What I Need

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

i can find things relatively easy for the most part i can't see why this is not worth the price but i am not on a management level to make that distinction i can't see why this is not worth the price but i am not on a management level to make that distinction i can't see why this is not worth the price but i am not on a management level to make that distinction

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

the 15 minutes wait that is required for the changes to be in force

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

this has improved efficiency by allowing our team to quickly access client information, policy documents, activities, and correspondence in one place. It also creates consistency across departments, ensuring everyone is working from the same information and reducing the risk of missed follow-ups or duplicate work.

 ### 38. Efficient and Centralized—All the Info in One Place

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mercy P. | Commercial Lines account manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

Typically is fairly efficient, all info is in one place, I don't work with carriers that have integrations, I'm not involved in this process of Applied

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

LOTS OF LAGS, recently apps merge info that has not been input or information is missing on certificates and applications. Too many clicks to process tasks, the interface not as simple as AMS360, the support even on chat is difficult, the help topics usually don't help resolve issues or it's difficult to find topics in the help section

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The accounting portion seems to be working better

 ### 39. Streamlined Insurance Management with Applied Epic

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mariah K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I use Applied Epic as the agency management tool for the insurance agency I'm employed by, and I find it keeps me very organized and running efficiently. I like the structure it gives my work, as everything is tracked and can be handled right from the homepage. A lot of the insurance business requires meeting time parameters, and tracking everything makes this achievable. The Epic bridge with Outlook is amazing, and I found the initial setup to be good.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

I don't like having to change the end date every time I change the task date in Applied Epic. It's just an extra step and something to remember every time.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Applied Epic keeps me organized and efficient, with everything tracked from the homepage. It helps meet insurance business time parameters.

 ### 40. One Stop Shop

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Natalia W. | Director of Marketing and Operations Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

Applied is a one-stop shop. The integrations between Epic, Indio, CSR24, and Benefits Designer make it easy to keep everything connected and maintain a streamlined process.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

Some areas are difficult to use to their full potential, such as the proposal section and the insurance summary generation.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Epic Bridge has been a game changer for using templates in Outlook, and for making sure attachments go to the correct folders and follow the right policy. The benefits have also come a long way, and we’re excited to see the capabilities continue to expand.

 ### 41. Effortlessly Organizes and Simplifies Workflow

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

I find Applied Epic incredibly helpful for managing accounts and policies, as it helps me stay organized. I like that it makes my everyday work life easier. The ability to drag and drop emails and files into it is a life saver because it saves me time and effort. Additionally, it works well with Indio, which I use for getting digital signatures. The initial setup was very easy, and overall, I appreciate the way it offers more features and ease of use compared to our previous software.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

i havent found anything that i dont like

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Applied Epic for managing accounts and policies. It helps me stay organized, makes daily work easier, and the drag-and-drop feature for emails and files saves time and effort.

 ### 42. Intuitive Interface, But Juggling Multiple Portals Is Cumbersome

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steph J. | Commercial Lines Account Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I like that everything makes sense where it's at. More specifically, the interface is intuitive & I can navigate easily.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

I do not like that everything has separate platforms (I.e., CSR24, Indio, etc..) I think having to log in to separate portals for all of these is cumbersome & confusing.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using AI to make inputting basic data quicker. They also found a solution with Epic Bridge but admittedly, I much prefer being able to drag & drop my emails instead of attaching them within outlook.

 ### 43. Extremely Helpful Renewal Manager That Keeps Everything Organized

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristen B. | Vice President- Client Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I find the renewal manager extremely helpful, it keeps me organized and all my accounts are easy to view in one place.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

I'm not sure if it is an Epic issue or an outlook issue but there are some emails that I receive that just won't attach, I have to forward them to myself in order to attach them. That can get frustrating.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One huge problem was the speed- we recently switched to the browser version and that has made a world of difference.

 ### 44. Applied Epic Keeps Client Data Organized and Easy to Retrieve

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

What I like most about Applied Epic is how well it compartmentalizes and organizes data. It makes it easy to collect information and retrieve it later when I need it.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

One thing I like the least is that I can’t pause while taking a note. There are often times when I start typing a note while I have a client on the phone, and then I need to paste in a document or pull up the information I need from Epic. After that, I have to go back and paste my finished note into Epic.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us keep track of client data and renewals. It also lets us create tasks and workflows so we can stay on top of everything.

 ### 45. Easy to Use with Seamless Outlook Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Camille G. | Sr. Account Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

There are certain areas that make it easy to use and integrate with Outlook to avoid duplicate entry If all components were working correctly (integration of the proposals, outlook, etc), we would be 100% satisfaction

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

There are numerous ways to do most everything and it can get confusing to try to train others when there are so many diff ways to proceed with one task

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to create a master submission and send to various carriers at one time is a time saving benefit.

 ### 46. Effective Document Management, Steep Learning Curve

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Javier G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I like how Applied Epic makes the initial information entry a lot easier since the last update. I also appreciate the document attaching software which works great, making documents ready and accessible for me and my team. This is especially helpful because we all have access to documents if someone calls in.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

I find the accords generation and info input so complicated that they need to be simplified. I also find the learning curve very hard. Additionally, I believe there are functions like quoting clients or shopping policies that seem unnecessary, as no one uses them.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Applied Epic to store data for commercial insurance clients, manage clients well, and keep file attachments accessible for me and my team.

The feature like the notepad button is nice, and it helps organize things by date or alphabetical type of attachments, which makes it very easy to service clients throughout the entire policy life cycle. It's a nice system that works pretty good, and it's very easy to work.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

I guess when I first started using it it was frusturating, I think alot of new users have this steep learning curve, the workflows can be hard sometimes.

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Applied Epic for policy management, quoting workflows, document storage, and communication tracking, which help me stay organized.

 ### 49. Exceptional Support, Easy Setup

**What do you like best about Applied Epic?**

I like that Applied Epic is a faster version of Applied TAM and more efficient. It's quicker to gain access to different areas, such as moving from the policy screen to a certificate of insurance, which makes it quite valuable for our agency management system.

**What do you dislike about Applied Epic?**

We just need to improve on getting the layout organized and knowing where everything is and where to go to There were a lot of things that needed to be tidied up, but not too bad

**What problems is Applied Epic solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Applied Epic as it is faster and more efficient than Applied TAM. It improves access to customer areas, and moves quicker from policy screens to certificates of insurance, addressing the outdated nature of TAM.
