The helpful team behind the software is the best thing about DBMarlin. They recognise user needs and update their product with new features every month. The best thing about the software itself is being able to drill down into selected statements and check at-a-glace its plan, users, platform etc. Another couple of stand-out features is the change tracking, and the time comparison report. Also, being able to view the execution plans as a more hierarchical view is a really helpful feature. Updated 07/06/23 - Some of the new features, like SQL Statistics and Blocking Sessions are also very welcome additions. Being able to preview the query without changing pages is extremely useful too. It can sometimes not be quite as 'snappy' as I would like, and the charts aggregate into hours or days too readily when selecting a larger date range. I have to point out, though, that the team is always taking this sort of feedback on board and nearly every item on my wishlist for a perfect DB monitoring service has so far been added at one stage or another. Updated 07/06/23 - The user experience is now much more snappy. After a recent upgrade, the performance issues were greatly improved. The aggregation issue has also been resolved. It is helping us to monitor slow performance at times, and identify the underlying culprit causing the issue - whatever that is. DBmarlin supports all execution engines that follow parallel processing and retains a history of all executions in its platform. It can be integrated with any database with ease, and it minimizes database redundancies & anomalies. Its pricing standards for the premium model are comparatively higher than other database monitoring tools. We make use of its effective services, such as wait state analysis, root cause analysis drill down and DB instance monitoring. What problems is DBmarlin solving and how is that benefiting you? DBmarlin provides extensive support for our database instances. So the onboarding process & learning curve is simplistic, and we don't require much experience to manage our instances. We can quickly know about the blocks and deadlock issues from its reporting dashboard. The retention period's granularity can be customized per our requirements to improve the efficiency of longer-duration query executions.
