The biggest downfall of Safari is a lack of extensions. There's still not a proper Pinterest button capability, for example, so there are always extra steps to pin something from a website. In addition, so many web experiences are built for Chrome, so many experiences aren't as robust or don't look as they were intended to on Safari. If I'm doing mockup work for a client, I'll usually go with Chrome because Safari just doesn't provide the same quality and level of dev features and device simulations. Apple has done phenomenal work to build key features into Safari over the last four or five versions. One significant improvement has been something that Firefox has done for a while, and many others are following suit - security and privacy. One of the biggest reasons I still use Chrome, even with the data privacy risks, is the ability to have different profiles.
