"it's Perfect"
4/5
What do you like best about Apple OS X Yosemite?

Redesigned User Interface: Yosemite brought a significant visual overhaul to macOS, introducing a flatter and more modern design. The interface adopted a translucent and glass-like appearance, which was appreciated by many users for its aesthetics.

Continuity and Handoff: Yosemite introduced the concept of Continuity, which allowed seamless integration between Apple devices. This included features like Handoff, which enabled users to start a task on one device and continue it on another, such as drafting an email on an iPhone and finishing it on a Mac.

Notification Center and Today View: Yosemite enhanced the Notification Center by providing widgets in the "Today View" that offered quick access to information such as weather, calendar events, reminders, and more.

Spotlight Improvements: The Spotlight search feature was revamped, providing not only a system-wide search function but also the ability to search for content on the web, perform calculations, and even see live previews of search results.

iCloud Drive: Yosemite integrated iCloud Drive more deeply into the operating system, allowing users to store and access files across all their Apple devices seamlessly.

Performance and Stability: While introducing new features, Yosemite also focused on improving performance and stability, which were areas of concern in previous macOS releases.

Updated Safari: Yosemite brought significant updates to the Safari web browser, enhancing performance and introducing features such as a streamlined Favorites Bar and a new Tab View.

Markup and Mail Improvements: The built-in Preview app gained the ability to add annotations and make basic edits to PDFs and images. Additionally, the Mail app was updated with features like Mail Drop for sending large attachments through iCloud Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Apple OS X Yosemite?

Translucency and Design: While many users liked the new design direction with translucent elements, some found the transparency effects to be distracting or visually overwhelming, especially for those with certain visual impairments.

Stability Issues: While Yosemite aimed to improve performance and stability over its predecessor, some users experienced initial bugs and performance issues after upgrading, leading to frustration.

Compatibility Concerns: Yosemite introduced a new design language and system changes that required developers to update their apps to match the new design and ensure compatibility. This led to a period where some apps didn't look or work as intended until they were updated.

Icon Design: The flatter and more minimalistic icon design introduced with Yosemite was divisive among users. Some felt that the new icons lacked the clarity and distinction of the previous designs.

System Requirements: Yosemite's system requirements were higher than its predecessor, which meant that older Macs were no longer supported. This led to disappointment among users with older hardware who were unable to upgrade.

Wi-Fi and Networking Issues: Some users reported experiencing connectivity issues, especially related to Wi-Fi, after upgrading to Yosemite. These issues were problematic for users who relied heavily on stable network connections.

Spotlight Privacy Concerns: While the enhanced Spotlight search was praised for its capabilities, some users raised privacy concerns about search queries being sent to Apple's servers and the potential for personal data to be collected.

Initial Software Bugs: Like many software releases, Yosemite had its fair share of initial bugs and glitches. Some users encountered issues with certain applications crashing or not working properl Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Apple OS X Yosemite?

Towards the end of the software, when the new software was coming out, it did start to get pretty glitchy on some areas. However, this is typical for Apple softwares, so it didn't alarm me that much. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
