The operating system consistently provides a stable environment and integrates with other Apple devices and services, saving me time and making my daily tasks more convenient.

Overall, it feels stable, fast, and user-friendly compared to earlier versions.

  ### 3. User-Friendly with Convenient Features, Minor Clutter Issues

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Reetiraj G. | intern, Computer Software, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Apple OS X Mavericks?**

I like Apple OS X Mavericks because I can open multiple folders in one Finder window, which reduces clutter and makes navigation easier. The compressed memory feature is also very helpful as it uses fewer resources, improving battery life and reducing overheating. The default tabs in the MacBook and iOS integration features are convenient, allowing apps to use fewer resources when running in the background. I find the UI friendly and the UX very user-friendly, with a straightforward initial setup process that includes five steps for understanding basic navigation. Assigning different colors to tabs helps me keep them organized without accidentally closing something important.

**What do you dislike about Apple OS X Mavericks?**

Sometimes the tab bar is not visible and seems to disappear. The text alignment is not very accurate; colors sometimes get jumbled. There should be proper labeling of tabs so that similar colors stay together. I feel like there are many bugs present. The buffering is quite an issue, and having the software available on the Apple Store would be beneficial for updates.

**What problems is Apple OS X Mavericks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Apple OS X Mavericks to organize my files with less clutter, easily navigate tabs, and run apps with fewer resources, extending battery life. Compressed memory and multiple folders in one Finder window streamline my workflow.

  ### 4. Great operating system for older Mac systems.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin V. | FEMA Housing Program Inspector (REDI Team), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2025

**What do you like best about Apple OS X Mavericks?**

At the time, around 2013, this new version of OSX had major updates like Finders tab, iBooks, and Maps. Probably the greatest new feature was the iCloud Keychain for password management and they had better memory management to improve performance. It was also available to download for free!

**What do you dislike about Apple OS X Mavericks?**

I had to wait a while for some apps to update and work, but overall there were very little issues. Sometimes the screen will resize itself and that gets really annoying but you just have to reset the display to fix the problem.

**What problems is Apple OS X Mavericks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I no longer had to go to my phone or the web to use Maps for GPS. I started saving my passwords for apps and websites in the iCloud which saved lots of time. I really love that password feature a lot!!

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Apple OS X Mavericks?**

OSX Mavericks is another milestone which proofs that an operating system can develop. The first thing that comes into mind is to compare it with a competitor like Windows or Linux. However, since I feel every operating system has its reason to exist I can see the good and bad in most of them. While some glance with features that go beyond the usability, Mavericks is definately an improvement in User Experience. OSX might not be the system with most versatility but its strength is security and User Experience. If you sit a person in front of a Mac, they easily can adapt to its look and feel. This learning phase is not as good with other operating systems. Mavericks positive points are unified notifications, integrated social media, improved control panel and a lot more.

**What do you dislike about Apple OS X Mavericks?**

Some basic features are still missing, where third-party-tools come in handy. This includes the window management like other systems have and some system settings which you would simply miss if you know them from other operating systems.

It is easy to use, easy to understand and a perfect match for me in a daily use as a productive system in a software egineering environment. Most apps are working.

  ### 31. A Smooth & Fluid Experience for someone coming from Windows

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saleem L. | Managing partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Apple OS X Mavericks?**

1. Easy learning curve for a new user - It's quite easy to get up and running, especially when people are switching over from Windows. The learning curve is smooth and easy to sail through
2. Seamless integration with Apple devices - Love how all Apple devices can seamlessly connect and speak to each other when using OS Mavericks.
3. Speed - I don't think any other OS comes even close to the unmatched speed of OS Mavericks, especially since it's designed keeping the hardware in mind.

**What do you dislike about Apple OS X Mavericks?**

1. Limited App Support - A lot of apps have to be specifically developed and approved for use on OS Mavericks, making it a necessity to have an additional windows machine to run those apps.
2. File Management System - The file management system on OS Mavericks seems quite complicated compared to the simple MyComputer on windows machines. There's probably an easier way to navigate around the file system which I am yet to learn.

**What problems is Apple OS X Mavericks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's currently my main operating system which I use to carry out my day-to-day business activities on the computer. So it pretty much is solving all my computing needs, especially when it comes to programming.

It's modern and easy to use. It seamlessly connects with other devices and that makes it great for group projects.

**What do you dislike about Apple OS X Mavericks?**

Many offices use microsoft instead so it can make things difficult to interact and share with other groups due to formatting.

**What problems is Apple OS X Mavericks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a stable software platform. I do not worry about viruses like I would on windows.

  ### 33. Outstanding security and virus freee

**What do you dislike about Apple OS X Mavericks?**

The only thing make me sad is, lots of ISO images is not available as compare to windows, for that reason you struggle sometimes fo fins relevant software.

**What problems is Apple OS X Mavericks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Once i forgot my password for my login system, the strong security features didn't allowed me or anyone else to access my data, i cant even reset OS without the password, anyway later on it was reseted after couple of custom security questions. It's brilliant for office work and for kids aswel.

Apple OS X Mavericks provides a polarizing enhancement to Apple products. I love the quickness and efficiency when running multiple

**What do you dislike about Apple OS X Mavericks?**

The only deficiency was the upgrade itself; for my 2014 Macbook Pro, this was deemed a difficult upgrade to pull off in a reasonable amount of time.
I would love to see some enhancements and perhaps less stress requirements for older devices and models.

**What problems is Apple OS X Mavericks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Apple OS X Mavericks is solving everyday multitasking feats. As you know, enhancing an employees ability to do more than one task at any given time dramatically increases productivity.
Productivity = Money.

  ### 39. Apple’s Maverick OS Simplifies more Complex Work on Macs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Apple OS X Mavericks?**

My top 5 features are App Nap which saves battery life, Multi Screen Support for the essential workspace that requires more monitors, Notifications Replies which is simply convenient, Tabs in Finder which is long overdue and is efficient, and Tags on Documents which is subtle but great for organizing/searching.

**What do you dislike about Apple OS X Mavericks?**

Other than these features being in previous releases, I would've like to see a stronger update on Safari. The Calendar update was nice, but I felt that effort could've been placed elsewhere for this release.

**What problems is Apple OS X Mavericks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Overall, its efficiency. Strong multi screen support is a given, especially for someone in the tech world. But the document tagging and tabbed finder really make it simple to navigate files quickly but it's done in a more user-friendly way than Windows.

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Apple OS X Mavericks?**

User friendly and intuitive. It comes with a long list of new features, plenty of under-the-hood tweaks, but a look and feel that is distinctly Mac.

**What do you dislike about Apple OS X Mavericks?**

It is still not a radical redesign from the old Mac. The design improvements seem minimal, and the battery life did not get a big boost. I guess what I am trying to say is that there are much room for improvement still.

**What problems is Apple OS X Mavericks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem that I am tackling with Apple OS X Mavericks is to have an intuitive and user-friendly OS that would fit both my work and personal life. Using Apple OS X Mavericks has drastically improved my productivity.
