"The Ideal OS for Developers"
4/5
What do you like best about macOS Sierra?

I appreciate that macOS Sierra is easy to use for day-to-day work, especially with the ability to use Linux-like commands on an easy-to-use system, which makes it the best OS for software development. I particularly like the Terminal because it is built on Unix. Navigation is super simple using command + spacebar to open apps quickly, and the overall UI is very easy to navigate around in. What do you dislike about macOS Sierra?

Some issues with certain streaming sites in the past (Netflix). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Solid Choice for Students on a Budget"
5/5
What do you like best about macOS Sierra?

macOS Sierra is a reliable option for college students doing part-time video editing and light development. It handles apps like iMovie and Final Cut Pro fairly well, especially on mid-range Macs. For minor coding projects, it supports Xcode and basic web development tools. While it's not the newest macOS, it’s stable and smooth enough for casual creative and coding tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about macOS Sierra?

It no longer receives security updates, and support for newer software and features is limited. Because of this, I found it difficult to handle more demanding editing tasks or larger development projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"MacOS Sierra: stability and productivity are among its greatest advantages"
4.5/5
What do you like best about macOS Sierra?

One of the greatest advantages in this operating system was the inclusion of iCloud Drive, as this allowed us to access all our files from any other Apple device, in addition to having Siri and being able to interact through voice commands, which allowed some tasks to be performed more quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about macOS Sierra?

One area for improvement for this system was that it sometimes had high resource consumption and could feel somewhat heavy, apart from having few updates in the visual aspect since the interface did not change much compared to previous versions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Overall performance"
5/5
What do you like best about macOS Sierra?

macOS Sierra, released in 2016, introduced several notable features that enhanced user experience. One of the most appreciated additions was the integration of Siri, allowing users to interact with their Macs using voice commands for tasks like searching, sending messages, and managing files. Other popular features included Universal Clipboard, which enabled seamless copying and pasting between iOS and macOS devices, and the ability to unlock Macs automatically with an Apple Watch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about macOS Sierra?

While macOS Sierra introduced some useful features like Siri on Mac, it also had drawbacks. Some users experienced performance issues, particularly on older Macs, with the system feeling sluggish or laggy, especially during intensive tasks. There were also reported security vulnerabilities, including a bug where the "root" user could bypass the administrator password and a case of password hints displaying plain text, according to a University of Miami security article and Krazy Ken's Tech Misadventures. Additionally, some users found certain features, like Apple Watch unlock, to be unreliable or slow to activate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Its UI it simply beautiful and all the elements integrate very well with each other. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about macOS Sierra?

The downsides are the fact that someone coming from using a different OS takes a little bit of time to get used to all the shortcuts and stuff, and also the fact that some devices are difficult to integrate with macos Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
