Appirio's US based teams are great. Very knowledgable and working to provide top notch solutions to meet our business needs. Although not necessarily a large Salesforce or Appirio customer, we did receive a level of attention and support that a large customer would receive. The sales staff and analytical staff listened to our needs and requirements including project needs such as cost containment and timing. The project management staff worked closely with us to ensure we were meeting requirements and balancing all other project requirements. While we needed to use off-shore resources to contain costs, it was my least favorite part of using Appirio. They did deliver features as promised and as defined at time of submission. The US team did a very good job of abstracting us away from the off-shore resources, but after we started deeper review of the off-shore developed code, we found some items of concern. This is not a reason to not use their off-shore resources, but should be a warning to monitor the output closely, specifically in terms of maintainability if you desire your company's development team to take ownership as we did. We had utilized other support partners for our Workday implementations and weren't satisfied with the level of expertise or the end-result in our Workday tenant. When we looked at other provides for implementing our phase 2 and 3 implementations we selected Appirio and were so satisfied that we transitioned with their cloud-support services. In addition we have completed an SOW's for an implementation for a recent France acquisition. We have two designated Workday professionals at our organization so resources are limited. Appirio has truly partnered with us in both urgent cases as well as new configurations. They feel a part of the Rosetta Stone family and take our concerns to heart. They recently started providing some off-shore support and at times we struggle with the lag-time in responses and the time-zone differences when testing in our sandbox tenant. We are currently looking at alternate solutions like sandbox exemptions and other options. Appirio is very receptive to the feedback and is working to address. Lack of SFDC experience/knowledge across the entire team. As an administrator with 3+ years of experience doing smaller implementations and managing multiple small instances I was by far the most knowledgeable person on either Appirio or our side of the project.
They never once asked to see our previous CRM.
The company themselves have some great employees, with high levels of SFDC knowledge, skills, and experience. I was very surprised that there wasnt a better strategy for some of the greener folks (everyone on our team) to access this in some way. Knowledgebase, etc. They seemed to just post questions to a message board and waited for responses most of the time.
Informed us early on in the project that SFDC wouldnt let you have more than 7 roles total. Put us down a path of trying to change our 100+ global roles to fit within this, until I joined the project (about halfway through) and informed the team that this wasnt true.
