Bascally, ths is a very cost-effective (free) alternative to M.S. Office with almost all the features. What I like best is that it has nearly all the features of M.S. One of the biggest problems it helps me solve is that I'm able to create a master document and I can cross-reference from that to subdocuments. I can create one file fo my master document and its' subdocuments. Cost of programs is the primary issue also. With this program being free, I'm not having to pay for a word processing program. This product is old, but during its time, it provided a great free alternative to Microsoft Word. What I like best about this software is that it is free to download for anyone who wants to use it, whether it be for school, business, or anything else. I also like the fact that is has features that are very, very comparable to what you would find in Microsoft Word. As such, you are able to design and compose your document in a matter that is very similar to what you would be getting from what would be considered a more "premium" word processing software. Although there is more that I like than dislike about this software, I would have to mention that some, not all, of the commonly used features of this software are "hidden" within the toolbar at the top of the screen. In other words, sometimes it may be a bit challenging to find the feature you need to use, such as creating a subscript/superscript, footnote, and the like. What problems is Apache OpenOffice Writer solving and how is that benefiting you? By using this software, I am able to solve problems relating to document composition. This software allows me to comfortably and efficiently write documents without any random glitches which I have experienced with other similar software. Some of the benefits I have realized is that I will not have to expend additional funds on having to buy a new computer in order to have a more "premium" software be compatible on my relatively older device. Instead, this software manufacturer keeps older versions of the software available to download pretty much at all times, which allows for me to simply use an older version of the software if I do not want to upgrade my computer in its entirety.
