I love how easy this program is to use. I was using a competing software and it was expensive and this was FREE, at least for the regular version. There is a day where people can come together and design software that meets the needs of users without a high price tag or covert monitoring, it's today! Download OpenOffice Calc to experience the hidden joys of free software with powerful formulas, macros, and simple arithmetic. No kidding! It has all the built-in extras that you get with Microsoft or Apple but without having to break the bank. Recommendations to others considering Apache OpenOffice Calc: Get online and scour some of the forums or YouTube videos where you can learn some of the basics of using this software. Simple keyboard shortcuts like CTRL+C and CTRL+V can be a lifesaver when manipulating spreadsheets. Get used to using them. Then, learn formulas like VLOOKUP to search and return results in one cell from another area of your spreadsheet. This is especially important when you are dealing with large datasets and multiple tabs. Don't fret, coding in spreadsheets isn't as hard as it might seem. Get your feet wet and your hands typing and enjoy the beauty of this simple but powerful tool. You can save down spreadsheets to MS Office file extensions too! The price! Hands down this is the best software for the money. I like that it is completely compatible with Microsoft, so anyone I send docs to don't even know that I"m using a different program. Some of the menus are a little confusing until you get used to them. It took me a few minutes to figure out print. It should have a quicker get to. There is not a right click option to reach it quickly. I didn't know such a product existed. They aren't really advertised main stream as they should. It was going to be entirely too expensive to use Microsoft products for all of our computers. Open office calc is as close as you can get to Microsoft word while on Linux. That is honestly the goal because no other office tool can handle Microsoft macros the same way.
