Evaluating climate using Apache Open Climate Workbench **Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Farming | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2020 **What do you like best about Apache Open Climate Workbench?** Apache Open Climate Workbench is a software that takes as inputs a variety of different resources which are outputs from a variety of different sources such as ESGF(Earth System Grid Federation), the U.S. National Climate Assessment, the Coordinated Regional Climate Downscaling Experiment, and the North American Regional Climate Change Assessment Program and temporal/spatial scales with remote sensing data from NASA, NOAA and other agencies and performs climate model evaluation. It has the capability of metrics computation and visualization. **What do you dislike about Apache Open Climate Workbench?** The Apache Open Climate Workbench software's UI is not very smooth and user friendly. The polishing could be better and it could be a little smooth. It sometimes takes time to open the maps and also display combined maps. Also the quality of images could be made even better. These points can be improved upon. **Recommendations to others considering Apache Open Climate Workbench:** Try to learn terminal commands while using it, it would be really helpful. Also first try to implement on your machine first and then try your hands on cloud. **What problems is Apache Open Climate Workbench solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are trying to predict the climate change so that we can control our levels of production of our crops and yieldings that we have on our farm. ### 3. Need to use console, so if you do not know terminal commands, is going to be difficult to use it even if you have a web UI. **Recommendations to others considering Apache Open Climate Workbench:** Try to implement in a localhost first, if you are accomodate to it, try to implement in the cloud. **What problems is Apache Open Climate Workbench solving and how is that benefiting you?** Knowing what countries use my services, i.e. who are getting hosting services and what they use for.
