It's really helpful if I am able to get logging event along with parameters while messages are logged. I also like the adaptor facility while using it along with other logging service. About 60% of all java applications around the world uses log4j indirectly. There might be lot of financial applications using it. That is biggest risk at high stakes. Which is flexible and easy to learn." 3.5/5 What do you like best about Apache log4j? Can enable logging levels for specific packages, classes, which is very useful when we want to debug a particular package/class in production rather than allow the whole module. log level is amazing, which helps lot for application trouble shoot and debug them. printing class name and line is very helpful to identify and trouble shoot the issues. printing time is also gives benifits much and no need to set it explicitly. log4j feels me an extra enargy and which buld me on confidence on the system. When configuring the different appenders, we have to do the same configuration stuff multiple times, like date pattern and Threshold, which reduces the readability—expecting a common way to configure those. The log file output configuration is damn easy now, For testing it's a bane, it's fast and reliable. And most importantly a great community.The ease to classify the logs in wanr, info, error, and many other types. This also helped in capturing logs of various other dependent tools. The enabling feature, formatting of the logs, class parameter makes it very easy to use and confirm where the code passed from which class its in and what is the log signifying. The logs level change can enable to display debug and other logs as well which makes it great to use when requirement to monitor all logs. The color scheme also gets displayed in the unix vim tool making it to clearly understand if its an issue or not to be looked and worked upon. On top of these many tools and other readers are there which classify the logs, the kibana tool helps analyzing and displaying the logs of any format into required format. The dependency version keeps changing for each api and compatibility sometimes cause issue. Additional documentation and illustrations needed to efficiently utilise the product. It is totally customisable according to your need and requirement, that's the best part. Sometimes just having the error logs was not enough. It can be used to answer the client requirements of logs. Even non technical person can easily differentiate the types of logs. We integrated Apache log 4j with maven and logged all the error and information in the log file.Log 4j generate a txt file log,through which we can easily locate error with the logging information from txt file which saved our time and heled us to debug it quickly.
