It contains many of the pieces that comprise a typical database management system but omits some key functions: storage of data, algorithms to process data, and a repository for storing metadata. **What problems is Apache Calcite solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are building a framework that helps us to query through the data laying at the disk location and try to get reorder joins, push down filters, convert sub-queries to joins, prune unused fields, push down projections and merge projections. ### 6.
