It is best for cad geometry genration or editing the existing geometry. **What do you dislike about Ansys SpaceClaim?** It has not product tree also it is not support feature devlopment like any othe cad software but as it us cae tool mainly so ansys spaceclaim is quite good. Not much con. **What problems is Ansys SpaceClaim solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is good for cleanup the geometry which was imported from other cad files. Also simple part modeling can be done easily. ### 2. The feel is modern. And creating Named Selections is very easy. For importing various file types, SpaceClaim is fantastic. **What do you dislike about Ansys SpaceClaim?** Navigation is not intuitive as you pursue more advanced editing commands. And constraining parametrics is not as straightforward as any competitive modern CAD system. For easy geometry creation SpaceClaim is adequate and only surpasses DesignModeler. **What problems is Ansys SpaceClaim solving and how is that benefiting you?** Importation of various geometry file types works well in SpaceClaim. Natively I use a more popular commercial CAD product and without a direct translator in to Ansys, SpaceClaim fits the bill nicely. ### 3. It takes very long processing time when working with stl files. It must have capabilities like design modeller that user can put name selections easily. **Recommendations to others considering Ansys SpaceClaim:** It has quite useful tool for modelling that other software does not have **What problems is Ansys SpaceClaim solving and how is that benefiting you?** For Making model water tight, its repair tools is one of the best tools that i have ever used. ### 4. The main functions are all still there like boss extrude and other solid modelling tools. Apart from that it is easy to access large assembly files due to large assembly mode. **What do you dislike about Ansys SpaceClaim?** Other powerful tools like sheet metal design and assembly tools are not available in SpaceClaim compared to CAD packages like software like Solidworks. Also, the sketching part can be made more simpler to use. There is no 3D sketching for 3D truss designs. **Recommendations to others considering Ansys SpaceClaim:** Use it for only the most basic CAD designs. There are better packages out there for solely CAD work.
