**What do you like best about Ansys Mechanical?**

Ansys is the best engineering simulation software that rapidly solves complex structural and thermal problems with ease. It has the ability to simulate every structural aspect of a product, does non linear static analysis, modal analysis that helps to determine vibration characteristics, dynamic effects and complex material behavior.

**What do you dislike about Ansys Mechanical?**

I have not found any significant cons in this software as I first went through a training then started using this software so my doubts are clear about using its tools.

**Recommendations to others considering Ansys Mechanical:**

I would highly recommend this software as it is easy to use simulation software package that provides tools to conceptualize, design and validate ideas on the desktop.

**What problems is Ansys Mechanical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using Ansys software, I perform analysis to access the strength, vibration, motion and thermal response characteristics of the system. It offers a variety of graphical tools that allows me to easily visualize the results of the simulation. It shows how best to modify the design and optimize your product so that you can present it to the customer quickly. This saves a lot of time and reduces cost. It helps to gain confidence and customer satisfaction also.

It is a powerful and relatively easy to use software for structural modeling and some fluid modeling.

It is not as intuitive and easy to use for fluid modeling.

**What do you like best about Ansys Mechanical?**

This program despite having a slightly overwhelming interface has many elements that help solve and simulate many parts and components of any equipment subjected to different forces such as mechanical and thermal stresses, and other engineering applications. Structural analysis of components can be easily performed much more dynamically and can predict behaviors and patterns of many processes related to equipment used in engineering

**What do you dislike about Ansys Mechanical?**

Since the time I have been using this tool (which is a long time) I cannot mention any disadvantages of this software

**What problems is Ansys Mechanical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ansys encompasses so many aspects in engineering that it helps us in the analysis and simulation of many parts and components by the finite element method. This tool performs a complete analysis of the component that we want to undergo the submission of physical phenomena used in engineering and in our case in oil processes

**What do you like best about Ansys Mechanical?**

ANSYS home-grown product, Mechanical, is excellent.  CFX is also excellent.

**What do you dislike about Ansys Mechanical?**

The quality of their acquisitions really depends on the original quality when purchased in addition to the development and improvement of the programs after acquisition.  Personally, it seems that there really aren't any major improvements to acquisitions.  They are just plopped into Mechanical but do not have similar workflows and do not feel organic to ANSYS.  It's a little disappointing that they are busy buying up other software companies while not maintaining their original quality.

It allows you to edit the geometry, slice it, and a lot of control parameters for mesh to get accurate results.

**What do you dislike about Ansys Mechanical?**

Mesh cannot be controlled at . You cannot tweak with the generated mesh.

I would recommend everyone who's looking for an FEA software to go for it.

**What problems is Ansys Mechanical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working on performing the analysis of the products that go into automobiles. It helps you in simulating how a component would real life. It helps you to determine the areas where the stresses are concentrated, so that you can make the changes in the design accordingly. The best feature that I have come across is slice feature.

**What do you like best about Ansys Mechanical?**

It is used for create simulation that check product's different properties like durability, vibration, temperature distribution, etc.Ansys used some input and measure the product behaviour in various situations. We can increase the accuracy of product and also reduce the manufacturing time of product with use of this software. I like to best thing in this software that we can import all kind of CAD file from different CAD software and perform simulation.

**What do you dislike about Ansys Mechanical?**

I find most dislike thing in ansys software that we required higher intial investment because this software want powerful computer system. And also sometime I find difficulty in boundary conditions and input data of ansys software. We also require more skill and knowledge about how to operate and maintain ansys software.

**Recommendations to others considering Ansys Mechanical:**

I think it is the best software for simulation and measure different physical conditions in different engineering department. We can complete our product without any errors with use of ansys.we need to pay higher investment in intial stage but in the long term it is beneficial for us. I suggested that you purchase the ansys if you used this software in long term because it is expensive for short term use.

I used this software in my company's project. We worked on the project which name is gasifier. In this project we generate energy from wastage garbage. It is big project so we need to conduct some tests like temperature controlling mechanism, measurement of natural frequency and vibration and it is too difficult to measure all this things manually so that we used ansys software in our project. We know that ansys is best software for simulation and measure different physical properties so that we used this software. We make our project successfully with this software.

**What do you like best about Ansys Mechanical?**

Uptill now for whatever purpose I have used ANSYS, I have never experienced any delays or lags during the simulation. Results obtained were very much accurate with the real-life situations and help me iterate better versions of my models with the best results in consideration.

**What do you dislike about Ansys Mechanical?**

The software is complex to get used to. It takes time and quite some practice to use it to get good results. Also, the software takes a huge load on my PC, so it is a heavy software to use. Although, cannot complain more as I do get good results in return.

**What problems is Ansys Mechanical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a Product Design engineer, so I usually have projects like designing a gearbox, bicycle frames, casings etc. So, in order to better understand the properties of mechanical materials, ANSYS helps me a lot. Benefits I realized are better results which help me go for better product design.

**What do you like best about Ansys Mechanical?**

It provides online tutorials to learn the basics of software, as well as more advanced modelling techniques. It has all modules for all types of analysis; structural, thermal, static and dynamic. We can change meshing size in the range of 1-10. We can easily import in different file.

**What do you dislike about Ansys Mechanical?**

It is difficult for new users. We need to understand the setup, terminology and process of Analysis. Navigating through the drop down list takes a lot of time. It is not good for creating complex geometries. It is not recommended for design modelling.

It is an excellent software. I would recommend it to others and businesses. A must have software for any design organization.

**What do you like best about Ansys Mechanical?**

It is used for check product's durability, temperature distribution, fluid movement, vibration and many other properties. In this software we can import all kind of CAD file from different CAD software and perform simulation operations. Ansys reduce the cost of producing product and save our time.

**What do you dislike about Ansys Mechanical?**

I find some difficulty in boundary conditions of product and some limitations in input data in ansys software. And also we required higher intial investment in this software. Also more skillful operator required for operate it. And sometime the accuracy of ansys software is not accurate.

I think ansys is best software for performing different simulation operations and measure various properties of product.But I suggested you that we required higher investment cost and also skillful operator for ansys software. If you are primary user then I suggested that first of all you used other design software because ansys is quite difficult as compared to other software.

I used this software in my company's project. Me and my team worked on the project which name is 360 degree automatic drilling machine. In this project we need to check some properties of project and simulation so that we used ansys software for it because we know that ansys is best software for simulation. We conducted few tests to optimize the material required, vibration and heat transfer with used of ansys software and finally made project successfully.

GUI system is very excellent. it help in collage project and also continue at work. different integration with modelling programme is present. it include excellent designing and modelling. fast analysis is present.

Graphical and dynamic modelling is not excellent. it require lot of different setup parameters. learning curve is very difficult. document presentation is not interesting. post processing is not easy.

IT is excellent app for engineer students. it is helpful in testing new project. now this time I am not using this software because documentation presentation is not very much interesting.

I like the end FEA results of this software. It is the most user-friendly tool for FEA analysis. The results are precise and feasible for real-time consideration. They are close to desired so it shows the reliability of this software. It has vast support for objects like a beam, c-section, I-section etc. One can use different objects for analysis. 

**What do you dislike about Ansys Mechanical?**

The software takes too much time while doing the analysis on older PCs with low-end processors. However, it offers good results on those PCs too, but it needs to be optimized for such PCs.

**Recommendations to others considering Ansys Mechanical:**

If you want to do stress analysis, load analysis on beam structures with different sections like I-section, square section, etc. then ANSYS Mechanical Enterprise is the ideal product for you. This software has a simple UI which helps you to easily navigate throughout the application.

**What problems is Ansys Mechanical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I usually do beam analysis using ANSYS Mechanical Enterprise. It can easily solve various beam problems including uniformly distributed load, variably distributed load, central load, etc. It is important to mention that the end results of this software approximately match with actual world scenarios.  This further helps us to successfully do the research on the beam products.

**What do you like best about Ansys Mechanical?**

In Ansys you can model any type of engineering problem. You can use Ansys instead of conducting real experiments, which can be impossible due to the difficulties in creating experimental setup.
Ansys is very flexible Software. And it could be your next step in improving your engineering skills.


**What do you dislike about Ansys Mechanical?**

First, you have to spend a lot of time understanding how the program operates and clarifying how to model and to simulate exactly your task.
Another problem is that Ansys often can't start the calculation, but it doesn't clarify where is your mistake. 
It doesn't always clear where to find calculated parameters in the postprocessor.
You need a powerful PC and a lot of computational time to solve difficult detailed tasks.

Usually, it is difficult to understand Ansys on your own. And you should find some specialists to help you with questions.

I use Ansys for energy engineering research problems, analyzing types of heat and mass flows under the experimental conditions. Using Ansys allows me to concentrate on the physics of my simulation task, and not be distracted by the purity and conditions of the natural experiment.

Ansys is best software for analysis. We can do stress analysis, steady state and transient analysis, thermal analysis, modal analysis and dynamic analysis. It uses knowledge of finite element analysis method to arive at solution. You can find stresses in beams and trusses also.

**What do you dislike about Ansys Mechanical?**

If we need more accurate answer then it will take more time. Its bit difficult for freshers. Its complicated to undo even one step.

I use it to find out temperature distribution in thermal analysis andto find out stresses in static element.

**What do you like best about Ansys Mechanical?**

This software is user-friendly. Any person can learn to use this software in a week. This software runs stress fatigue and modal simulations on your model. It does everything that METLABS could do and even more. This software also has features like Strength analysis, Geometric Nonlinearity, and material models. It runs all kinds of simulations in the environment defined by the user.

**What do you dislike about Ansys Mechanical?**

I have just started learning this software so I haven't come across anything I dislike about this software.

This software is really good and easy to use.

Ansys is the most accurate software available to engineers who need to conduct finite element analysis.

Aside from FEA, Ansys doesn't really provide much benefit to it's users. Most other tasks are accomplished with software like Solidworks.

ANSYS is a professional program for the calculation of mechanical components and structures. The program allows you to make component designs or import them from another CAD program.
With the design of the components or the structure, you can define the material or materials that will form the component, the forces that will act on the component and the rest of the parameters necessary for the calculation.
In addition, it allows you to perform different calculation modes, depending on what you need.

**What do you dislike about Ansys Mechanical?**

The program needs to improve the design section. It is easy to draw simple pieces, but the work is complicated when we try to design complex structures.
Also, many times when you try to import complex parts from another CAD program, they do not appear correctly and you need to redesign some parts.

**Recommendations to others considering Ansys Mechanical:**

I would recommend this program to other users, since it allows you to carry out virtual tests on products that are still in development stages.

In the electronic design it is necessary to check the durability of the components and the base plates, depending on the conditions in which the final product will be found.
In addition, it is important to check how the final product would be, depending on what materials form it, before manufacturing the product.
On the other hand, in our company we can anticipate the possible failures that may occur in the future products, without the need to manufacture a product and rehearse it.
The program makes our work easier and allows us to save a large amount of money and time.

**What do you like best about Ansys Mechanical?**

The ease of using the software is unmatched by any other engineering simulation tool. The tightly integrated multi-physics solver offers capability to transfer solutions between physics modules. The geometry offers just enough capability to edit the geometry while iterating between designs. 

**What do you dislike about Ansys Mechanical?**

The solver times are large compared to alternatives such as solidWorks. Further, the integrated geometry design tool is limited in functionality. The tool can be extended to take into account man recent advances in the industry. Using User Defined Functions (UDF's) can be difficult to learn.

**Recommendations to others considering Ansys Mechanical:**

If developing in house code might prove difficult and if standardization is key in the company, then Ansys might be the right software for your engineering solutions.

While most other analysis software requires a tonne of ram ansys can make do with the minimum you can offer. It runs smoothly, accurately and glitches free.

While the workbench is quite user-friendly, the other APDLs like mechanical etc could use more graphics enhancements and make them more user-friendly

As an engineer, it is required for us to figure out all the kinks in any model under all types of conditions. Ansys just makes the work way easier

ANSYS mechanical gives the user a lot of control over how to simulate a problem. It enables the user to select the exact element type and the kind of meshing that the user wants to work with. The biggest advantage is the APDL programming which a person can use to suit his or her simulation requirements. 

**What do you dislike about Ansys Mechanical?**

The interface of ANSYS Mechanical is too primitive and a user can have difficulty in visualizing a problem with a complex geometry.

A person needs patience in understanding how the software works.

The ease of use. The UI is simple and very user-friendly. Also the automesh gives decent results and saves the effort of manual meshing

It's straightforward on how to create 3D models and then set up simulations on them. There are plenty of different simulations that you can run, too. It's very powerful.

It can take really long to run simulations and can crash sometimes. The student version is also very lacking.

**Recommendations to others considering Ansys Mechanical:**

I prefer it over Solidworks actually. It's easy to use and very powerful. It can run many different types of simulations in the same file as well: mechanical, fluid, electrical, thermal, etc etc.

I use Ansys to run simulations on current projects I am working on. It has helped us in determining when our product will work.

Ansys is one of the best software I have ever used. It's easy to use and gives desired results at every high stressed point. Also, it supports mostly all the file formats and the models can be edited.

Nice and easy-to-use user interface with great capability to solve multi-physics problems, such as statics, dynamics, thermal, fluid, etc. In addition, they provide free version for students.

User-friendly interface makes Ansys very easy to use,  Ansys divide every step in simulation procedure (model, meshing, boundary condition, results) with block, very convenient to track different designs.

**What do you dislike about Ansys Mechanical?**

Ansys makes simulation like a black box, you put input on one end and get output on the other. The results can be easily read by non-expert with colorful pictures which can be dangerous.

The price is expensive but Ansys do have student version which is limited power but good to try.

FEM - Finite Element Method.
The best benefit I think is comparing different designs. Ansys also have feature called DoE where you can put a lot of parameters for your design without touching the CAD model.

ANSYS combines support for every conceivable type of FEA analysis into one consistent package. Design modeler is great for quick tweaks to imported CAD geometry in order to prepare the model for analysis. Workbench interface makes it very easy to share geometry and material data between multiple different analyses. 

**What do you dislike about Ansys Mechanical?**

Geometry import from native CAD file formats seems to not work more often than it works. Design Modeler could be more intuitive for geometry creation from scratch. Some error messages when meshing and running analyses can be less than clear, so it is up to the user to know what he or she is doing.

**Recommendations to others considering Ansys Mechanical:**

Although the integrated analysis packages found in most CAD software are greatly improving, ANSYS is still the gold standard for FEA. For more complicated or advanced analyses (heat transfer, fluid flow, mechanical contact) it is a must and for simple analyses it still had many advantages.

**What problems is Ansys Mechanical solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use ANSYS mostly for static mechanical analysis, with occasional contact and motion cases. The results are absolutely critical for success of my designs.

**What do you like best about Ansys Mechanical?**

Firstly, this is the only FEA I've used that uses multiple threads/cores of a CPU, which streamlines calculation time significantly, in my experience.  Secondly, there's pretty much nothing you can't simulate, seriously.  With the workbench, running beam analysis, thermal transfer, fluid flow...you can do all of this to the same part.  It's very integrative.

**What do you dislike about Ansys Mechanical?**

If you haven't been trained on it, it's very overwhelming.  This thing needs a 40 hour course to fully understand how to properly prep for Analysis, set up your part or assembly for Analysis, mesh, and finally run the analysis.  Just understanding the consequences of how you're running your analysis and what your results look like can be a bit complicated.

**Recommendations to others considering Ansys Mechanical:**

This is a complete solution.  If you're in the engineering or manufacturing industry or rely on them for product conceptualization and time to market, you need some type of FEA software, especially when your competitors are already using it!

Take the training, get involved, and start using it immediately!  I had a "re-learning" curve as the time between when I took the training and when I started using it was significant, and it's definitely a perishable skill.

FEA helps to streamline the product development process by allowing you to simulate real-world stresses and implementation when used as intended, and what the robustness and durability of your product is as designed.  This will help you get your product to market faster (as it'll cut down on prototype iterations you'll need), it'll help you prevent over-engineering, which can mean more cost and lead-time, and it is all presented in a very robust way.

Failed convergence happens way too much. Should include some auto optimization for contact stiffness or other factors to help convergence

If you are new to FEA, try Solidworks first to see if it can meet your needs as it is easier to learn and much cheaper

Test every plastic snap design in ANSYS first to ensure we can assemble without breaking the snap and can meet our required pull out force goals. This greatly deceases risk when we go to tooling

The simulations of stress analysis and heat transfer are very powerful and impressive. When the analysis is complete, the visualizations are easy to interpret. 

**What do you dislike about Ansys Mechanical?**

I might have been using an old version (my university might have been cheap), but developing simulations in Ansys was a big pain. There is no "Edit > Undo" option, so if you made a mistake, you had to manually delete and retry. The interface was not user friendly. You really have to know what you're doing in order to be able to use this software effectively. It is so powerful that there are too many options for many basic analyses (at least for an undergraduate student)

If you need this tool, be sure you know what you are doing, or arrange for training to learn how to effectively use it.

3D modeling CAD tools come with integrated simulation software. If that isn't enough and you are looking for a powerful and dedicated FEA tool, ANSYS is the market leader. Comes with a heavy price tag though. With a wide variety of toolboxes and associated training modules, it pays off on the long run.

Mechanical, Structural, Flow FEA for design, manufacturing, and volume production. Very early look at design feasibility for cross-functional team synergy.
