"Ansys Fluent User Experience"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Ansys Fluent?

I am by profession a product designer who uses various CAD modelling and simulation software to get the freelance work assigned to me by my clients.

On one occasion I got the opportunity to use Ansys Fluent to carry out a CFD simulation work for my client. That was the first time I got to explore the features and capabilities of Ansys Fluent. My mind was blown off once I started to explore the capabilities of the software and it helped me to carry out CFD simulation on a newly designed single-seater vehicle. The vehicle body simulation helped me to extract very important aerodynamic-related performance parameters like Pressure contour, velocity streamline, velocity contour, coefficient of lift, coefficient of drag etc. as a result of flow along the surface of the designed vehicle. What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?

The complexity involved in understanding the user interface and using the software for flow analysis as a first-time user was huge. I had to do a lot of research and learning to understand how the software works and how the correct parameters had to be provided as input to conduct the simulation process and extract the expected results.

The large system requirements in terms of performance numbers to run complex simulation works are also quite hectic and time-consuming. This is the only aspect which does not encourage me a lot to use this software to do more complex works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Multi-physics coupling with Fluent"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Ansys Fluent?

Robustness of solvers, features for various turbulence flow models, great compatibility with other meshing tools, Recently introduced multi-GPU features is something making it unique, Mulit-physics features joined with fluent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?

GUI is not that interactive, comparatively setting up a model in fluent is more tedious and difficult to interpret especially for complex problems, Multi-physics coupling features are not straightforward and require further complicated and relatively more number of steps to setup and couple multiple physics. "Ansys Fluent"
5/5
What do you like best about Ansys Fluent?

ANSYS Fluent offers robust post-processing and visualization tools to analyze and interpret simulation results. It provides a variety of graphical representations, including contour plots, vectors, animations, and streamlines. Users can extract key engineering quantities, generate reports, and compare results to gain insights into the simulated flow behavior. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?

While ANSYS Fluent excels in fluid dynamics simulations, its capabilities for non-fluid dynamics analysis, such as structural analysis or electromagnetics, are limited compared to dedicated software within the ANSYS ecosystem. Users requiring multi-physics simulations involving other physics domains may need to integrate Fluent with other specialized software, which can increase the complexity of the analysis. "ANSYS Fluent is known for its versatility and robustness."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Ansys Fluent?

Meshing capabilities are robust, with options for both structured and unstructured grids, which are crucial for accurately capturing complex flow physics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?

We have to use different tools separately for geometry cleanup, meshing, solver and post processing. No single GUI for all the simulation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The allrounder of CFD"
5/5
What do you like best about Ansys Fluent?

The advanced and comprehensive CFD tool is capable of modeling the physics in a way near to realistic and thus shows results that are helpful to engineers and do not mislead the engineers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?

It's a bit complex for beginners to learn. Even fundamental simulations require a lot of practice, and complex simulations with requirements to meet good results need good training and experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
