Ansys Fluent is the industry leading computational fluid dynamics, or CFD software, renowned for its advanced physics modeling capabilities and outstanding accuracy. As a general-purpose CFD software, Fluent can be used to model fluid flow, heat and mass transfer, chemical reactions, and more. Fluent offers a modern, user-friendly interface that streamlines the CFD process from pre- to post-processing within a single window workflow. **What do you like best about Ansys Fluent?**

Using ansys we can do many simulations, non linear, dynamics, etc.. I like doing simulation by applying different forces in different directions. I really like to test the component at what pressure it really braking.

**What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?**

We want to know lot of fundamentals, without knowing the subjects (many basics) it is a big task doing simulation in ansys

**Recommendations to others considering Ansys Fluent:**

People who started career in designing field learn one simulation software. I prefer Ansys because it is giving good results.

**What problems is Ansys Fluent solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I created piston in CATIA and imported that part to ansys. I applied different pressures on the surface of the piston(like oil pressure on piston) and I found at what pressure it is crashing

**What do you like best about Ansys Fluent?**

Advanced scale resolving models are available I. e., Large Eddy Simulation(LES), Detached eddy Simulation(DES), Adaptive Eddy Simulation(AES) and it offers built in function to analyse the fluid structure reaction. 

**What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?**

It is not easy and parameters are needed to select very carefully and we probably need trail and error for multiple times to get the result

**Recommendations to others considering Ansys Fluent:**

It is a very powerful software to solve complex CFD tasks. There is a bright future in future, if we learn ansys workbench.

Mainly internal fluid flows in computational fluid dynamics.

**What do you like best about Ansys Fluent?**

It was an independent application emphasizing on modeling fluid behavior, but now it is fully integrated into the ANSYS Workbench, allowing designers to have a flexible workflow from drafting geometry to post-processing. It offers built-in functions to analyze the fluid-structure interaction. It allows to bring the easy drag-and-drop transfer of data and results to share between applications (e.g. to use a fluid flow solution as a boundary condition constraint of a subsequent structural mechanics simulation). Advanced scale-resolving turbulence models are also available: large eddy simulation (LES), detached eddy simulation (DES) and scale-adaptive simulation (SAS).

**What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?**

To realistically model the environment in ANSYS Fluent is not easy and parameters are needed to select very carefully. In addition, Fluent resources are not as many as other simulation software. Therefore, to complete a project, users probably need to trial and error for multiple times to get their results.

**Recommendations to others considering Ansys Fluent:**

It is a very useful tool to run simulations for fluid behavior.

**What problems is Ansys Fluent solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing the structural inputs to the analysis of the fluid-structure interaction (FSI) between wind and wind tower structure and helping with understanding the outputs. The results from ANSYS Fluent show the additional forces should be considered in the tower structure design where is not commonly calculated from the static study.

**What do you like best about Ansys Fluent?**

ANSYS Fluent is great for beginners studying Computational Fluid Dynamics. There are many different help options available, including the in-depth User's Guide Content, Context-Sensitive Help, and Online Technical Resources. It is a pretty basic system that can help beginners learn the basics. 

**What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?**

It can be glitchy at times and could definitely run faster. Sometimes I find myself waiting for it to load for longer than I would like.

Great for beginners but a little slow/glitchy

**What problems is Ansys Fluent solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Learning the basics of fluid dynamics. I have realized its benefits in understanding the fundamentals of modeling systems.

One of the best software to do computational fluid dynamics modeling for chemical and mechanical engineers alike. Also, inbuilt mesh generation is additional value addition. Earlier versions lacked it.

Ability to couple with the chemistry module

Go for it.

**What do you like best about Ansys Fluent?**

ANSYS Fluent is a great software for modeling, especially for anything related to fluid flows. I recently started using it for modeling and have been surprised by how perfect this modeling software is for any kind of engineering situation. It really has all you need to for building/importing models, setting parameters to match your situation, and modeling. 

**What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?**

It is difficult to learn. I'd suggest that taking an introduction class would be the easiest way to get started with ANSYS Fluent. The layout is kind of confusing at times. 

**What problems is Ansys Fluent solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Just engineering modeling. ANSYS is the best software available for the modeling we're doing.

Fluent got a really useful upgrade and update when Ansys purchased the software and continued to develop it. The GUI and interface makes computational analysis readily available and easy to use. 

**What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?**

The proprietary output and visualization options tend not to always be what I want, but workarounds are available.

Fluid flow in mixed media.

Exhaustive database of fluid flow models and it has a wide reach, extensive technical support and access to resources such as forums, community and manuals

**What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?**

I wish it is faster. It takes almost a long time to startup and that is really inconvenient, sometimes even puts you off. The other con is that there must be an option to tweak the default settings.

Good tool. Easy to learn. Go through tutorials as beginners.

**What problems is Ansys Fluent solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fluid flow patterns, design of pipes, channels, reactors. It plays a prominent role in fabrication and helps me to understand the hydrodynamic patterns.

Very powerful for reservoir modelling, flow models and simulations. Lots of features and very intuitive.

Processing takes a lot of time if the reservoir considered is huge for simulation.

Characterization of reservoir is necessary to identify amount of fluid inside the reservoir.

The animation saving option needs to be more straightforward like ANSYS CFX Software

High performance software was available to modify into complex business use, flexible in various stages of medical device industry.

Although very throughly tested some issue in real world environment left some troubleshooting to be done.

It has capabilities to simulate almost every type of fluid dynamics problem.
Has a great GUI  which is easy to learn

It is not free to use and has a hefty pruce tag. Runs the problem withiut authenticatung the boundary conditions which is useful some times but also creates issues other times

The results are fairly accurate. The new 2019 version is really nice softwares.

The modeling part isn't that good and not user friendly as compared to other s

Oilfield equipment. The results are accurate and closely resemble manual calculation.

I love how amazing it is for a beginning engineer to even the most advanced one! I usually run CFD sims and it can be tricky to learn, but the results are very validated. 

**What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?**

It can be really hard to learn sometimes, and I wish there were better tutorials

It's good at generating meshes and running simulations on different types of fluids in different environments.

**What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?**

It's less intuitive than ANSYS as a whole. It requires more guidance and more boundary conditions. Searching for where and how to put these boundary conditions can be difficult.

**What problems is Ansys Fluent solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helpful in running simulations on products that we are developing. Fluent gives helpful insight into how a fluid will behave in a system that we are looking into.

ANSYS gives you an instant control of the simulation you want to work with. The GUI is really user friendly and stacked as per the requirement.

The fluid and solid are in different sections, which should be more interactive and create a sense of interaction as the user proceeds with the ongoing simulation

I think it's by far the best, complete CFD program out there, with features for both steady state and dynamic simulation 

**What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?**

Mesh sizing and computational time. Also the error warnings doesn't always show what's wrong. 

**Recommendations to others considering Ansys Fluent:**

A must learn if you like fluid modeling.  Good but it's not a magic software, you need to truly understand the dynamics and how boundary works before relying on the results. I find students that just take a good converge result as a good modelling without considering how something logically works.

Any flow computational issues that need to be confirmed for projects before investment decision

The best of ANSYS is the speed of create a net of elements constituents of a fluid, and the properties that provides to us in determinates conditions.

To make the fluid gradient is necesary the density of the fluid that the software not provides, is the user who enters this property which can generate errors in the simulation

ANSYS provides a lot of properties of a fluid in determinate conditions that helps in a proyect of engineering, phisychs, chemistry, and more. This finite element processor for solving mechanical problems includes: analysis of dynamic and static structures (both for linear or nonlinear problems), heat transfer analysis and fluid dynamics, as well as acoustic and electromagnetic problems.

**What do you like best about Ansys Fluent?**

The ability to integrate multiple functions like designing, meshing and analysis in one single package and esp their CFD is very impressive.

**What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?**

The processing times for bigger files is way too much esp if the mesh size is so small. I would also want to more results in structural aspects.

**Recommendations to others considering Ansys Fluent:**

For CFD Ansys is the best software, though COMSOL offers better user interface but to understand the CFD , this is better.

**What do you like best about Ansys Fluent?**

The ease of building models, and importing files from other design modelers is fantastic. With the acquisition of Fluent , Redhawk, and HFX this software covers all the basic needs and desires that a simulation/design engineer would need. The software can also be split into each of its subcomponents to more accurately meet the specific needs of the user without the requirement to purchase subscriptions to the entire library of tools.

Learning and tutorials are fantastic ways of getting going in the software, and can teach quickly what the user needs to know. There is also a searchable online resource for help and technical support.

**What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?**

The software's capability of accurately describing the contact of materials and components is very difficult to design. The friction coefficients and sliding ability of components are very much dependant on the settings and the accuracy of the material models that are built in the software.

**Recommendations to others considering Ansys Fluent:**

Can be used as a full software suite with all the bells and whistles or be degraded into each separate tool dealing with magnetism, mechanics, fluids, or multiphysics analyses. Be sure that the proper tool is purchased for the required needs.

**What problems is Ansys Fluent solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simulation of real work environments during the design and evaluation process to mitigate and predict failure of components. Removing the need for design, test, redesign iterations in the engineering world and manufacturing realm of engineering.
