Users probably need other tools to run the Technology Governance, Risk and Compliance program. It will be ideal if Anecdotes become the one-stop shop for Technology GRC. Anecdotes significantly reduce the time the Compliance team spends collecting evidence from different groups. Connecting all of the plugins and setting up the platform was very easy and intuitive and there were also very helpful guides. We started with SOC 2 and the platform dashboard indicated that there was a big overlap of evidence with ISO and that adopting it would not be too much additional effort. Having a centralized platform for managing our ISO and SOC2 and policy and risk management makes teamwork much easier. As part of our ISO audit, the auditor was already familiar with the anecdotes platform. Anecdotes has a fun UI that makes the compliance process visually clear. It's easy to navigate and look at the process from different views, such as all evidence collected or the list of required controls and their status. Also, their support is just great. I'd be happy if Anecdotes would work in any browser, it currently works only in Chrome. Also, it would be great if it would be easier to view "my tasks", but as the Anecdotes team releases features several times a week I'm pretty sure this would be great soon. What do you dislike about Anecdotes? -/+ The product is still young and some features are not yet available - When compared with traditional GRC vendors, Anecdotes has fewer features. On the upside, this provides better focus and features that exist do work - Some areas would benefit from more customizable and granular settings (for example user access roles, some plugin scope related items and such). The intuitive and ease of use was something the team has put a lot of thought and effort into, it was immediately apparent. The interface is clean, and easy to use with minimal nonsense distractions. The plug-in system to connect our cloud-based tech-stack was as straightforward as one can ask for, with detailed and to-the-point instructions where little room for error was left. And if problems occurred, customer support was prompt to help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Anecdotes? Where the product shines, is sometimes the same spot where it shines not as brightly. Some of the contextual interface options are hidden too well, with the document management system being the main offender. Having a separate document management screen is great, but in other evidence and compliance screen is was not obvious you could manage the evidence from the existing pool of documents you have already uploaded. However, this slight shortcoming was quickly addressed by a customer success representative who quickly pointed out and explained. Another minor shortcoming was the lack of cohesive error messages when a plug-in fails, the terminal-like debug window outputted the raw error message from the service API, with little context or meaningful information, the support team was quick to recognise the issue and solve it however. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Anecdotes: It is crucial to make sure that you still have the necessary resources to use Anecdotes. It is NOT a "plug-and-you-are-compliant" instrument. Large amounts of internal involvement is still very much required, without dedicated attention Anecdotes can and will become just another yearly subscription in your organisation's expense budget. I had to deal with an incredible amount of documentation, spreadsheets, and evidence inventory lists before I met with Anecdotes. The ability to automatically gather evidence using read-only accounts from our cloud infrastructure was a pivotal time-saver to us. not to mention that the automatic cataloguing of the evidence to keep historic records and cross-examine to meet the requirements of other compliancy frameworks was just as monumental for our future compliance efforts.
