Openness and flexibility are among Android’s most important strengths. Compared with other mobile operating systems, it gives me more freedom and control over my device. I can install apps from various sources and customize the home screen, widgets, and settings in many different ways. I also appreciate having a separate Back button (gesture). Another feature I’ve found especially helpful is clipboard history, which lets me access text I copied earlier; this was something I missed on my iOS smartphone. On top of that, Android offers a wide choice of devices, so you can pick from a large number of available options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Android? In my experience, Android phones tend to become less performant over time. After using this phone for several months, I’ve started noticing lag, occasional freezing, and slower app loading, even though it worked perfectly fine at the beginning. Software update availability also depends on the manufacturer, so not all devices receive updates at the same time. Another drawback is that many apps and accessories seem to be tailored for iPhone first. Certain features are integrated into iOS earlier, and many accessories are designed primarily for the Apple ecosystem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is Android solving and how is that benefiting you? Android offers a great deal of flexibility as a mobile platform, letting me use the phone according to my own preferences rather than being limited by the operating system itself. I can install virtually any application, adjust almost every aspect of the interface, and take advantage of extra features like clipboard history, stronger file management, and multitasking, all of which are very helpful for improving productivity. The wide range of Android devices also gives consumers the luxury of choosing a phone that fits their needs and budget. That said, I ultimately switched to an iPhone because it feels smoother over the long term. What I do not like about the Android operating system is, that apps stay active in the active in the background, it runs slowly at times, and the apps have lots of advertisements that are is downloaded from google play.
