Anaconda offers a comprehensive environment that greatly simplifies working with Python and various data science tools. I appreciate that it comes pre-installed with many of the key libraries I rely on for my academic and research projects, such as NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, and Jupyter Notebook. Managing multiple environments for different projects—like thesis work, school assignments, or data analysis—is also very convenient. The installation process is simple, and I rarely have to deal with package compatibility problems. We (at the university) have used it everyday since I started my masters degree. The primary drawback of Anaconda is that it tends to consume a significant amount of storage and memory. On older computers, it can take a noticeable amount of time to load, and it occupies more disk space than simply installing Python and the required packages individually. Additionally, having to download or update the entire distribution seems excessive when I only need a handful of specific libraries. Anaconda offers an all-in-one environment that simplifies data science development and the experiment process. Dependency management with conda is usually great. The way it comes pre-installed with the most essential data science package makes it a go-to choice for any work or project to start with. Also, its integration with Jupyter Notebooks and Jupyter Lab is one of the best things that really makes Anaconda a powerful IDE that provides a smooth experience for code execution, visualization, and iterative development. So, it takes some time with a little weaker machines. And thus, a little not-so-good experience. The initial installation size is large. If using both conda and pip, it becomes a little troublesome and often causes issues. Also, conda is difficult to recreate.
