"A Powerful Tool for Product Insights, But Requires Investment"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Amplitude Session Replay?

What I really like about Amplitude Session Replay is how seamlessly it connects qualitative user behavior with quantitative analytics. It’s incredibly helpful to actually see what users are doing right after spotting a trend or anomaly in the data. The playback feels smooth, the event timeline makes it easy to pinpoint where users get stuck, and the integration with existing Amplitude dashboards saves a lot of time switching between tools. It gives a much clearer picture of user intent and friction points. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amplitude Session Replay?

While the feature is powerful, the loading time for some sessions can be a bit slow, especially for longer recordings. Also, occasionally not all sessions get captured perfectly—some seem to miss certain interactions or events. It would be great if the filtering options were a bit more flexible, so we could quickly find the exact sessions related to a specific issue or funnel stage. But overall, it’s still a very valuable addition to the analytics toolkit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Amplitude Session Replay Review"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Amplitude Session Replay?

What I like most about this feature is that it allows me to view quantitative data (such as events and charts) and qualitative data (user behavior session replays) together within a single platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amplitude Session Replay?

Some users have noted that the capture and recording quality is not always perfect. For example, there are reports of “incomplete recordings” or “slow session loading” in certain sessions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Valuable Insights, But Needs Smarter Replay Filtering"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Amplitude Session Replay?

Amplitude gives us some insight into transition failures and onboarding failures. It tells us more about where and when customers got confused or lost interest. It was easy to integrate and we did not require any customer support. We use it multiple times a week to review onboarding the product use failures. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amplitude Session Replay?

It is somewhat tedious to go through each replay to find things that concern you. It would be nice to show a summary of activity conditioned on an event. E.g., show me everyone's 15 seconds before pressing sign-up. Or ask for all replays that meet some condition. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Amanda Brush of Amplitude Session Replay

Chris, Thank you for your thoughtful review and constructive feedback. We love to hear that the integration was straightforward and that replays are helping you see where customers get confused or lose interest. We really appreciate your suggestion around summaries and event‑conditioned replays. We’ve passed this along to our product team as we continue to invest in smarter ways to surface the moments that matter most. If you’re open to sharing more about your use cases, we’d love to learn from your current review process—please feel free to reach out via support.amplitude.com and reference this review.

"Session Replay with Analytics Context, Still Maturing"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Amplitude Session Replay?

Screen Replay is an incredibly valuable feature for product managers and product designers. It offers deep insights into how users truly interact with the product. One feature I particularly appreciate is the ability to skip inactivity, which helps me focus on the most relevant parts of the user experience without wasting time. Without a doubt, it's a tool that brings clarity and context to behavioral analysis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amplitude Session Replay?

While Amplitude Session Replay is a great addition to the product analytics toolkit, there are still areas that feel underdeveloped compared to more mature session replay tools. The filtering options are limited, which makes it harder to quickly find the most relevant sessions. Additionally, it lacks frustration indicators (like rage clicks or error tracking), which are key to identifying pain points and prioritizing which sessions to review. It would also be helpful to have collaborative features like session tagging or annotations for team workflows. Overall, it’s a solid start, but there's room for improvement to make it a truly powerful tool for product teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Tamara Kecman of Amplitude Session Replay

Hey Tamara (love meeting another Tamara in the wild)! Thanks for the detailed review. I'm so glad to hear the inactivity-skipping feature is saving you time and helping you zero in on key user moments. Totally hear you on the filtering, frustration indicators, and collaborative features. These are awesome suggestions, and I'll share them directly with our product team. Keep up the great work you're doing!

"First-time Experience with Amplitude Session Replay"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Amplitude Session Replay?

As a first-time user, the session replay feature was very helpful in visually understanding user behavior without relying only on event logs. I liked the automatic masking of text fields (ensuring PII safety) and the way dropdowns, gestures, and navigations were captured. The integration flow was also straightforward with just start, stop, and teardown available through our analytics hook. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amplitude Session Replay?

A few limitations stood out — WebView content is not captured at all (treated as a black box), some sessions do not always appear in the Amplitude sessions tab, and there were minor UI rendering misses (like padding, border radius, and some images not loading properly in the replay).

Apart from these limitations, I still believe session replay will play a vital role in the user-level debugging process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Amanda Brush of Amplitude Session Replay

Hi Akhil, Thanks for the great review—we’re thrilled Session Replay helped you visualize behavior quickly, with privacy‑first defaults like text masking and DSAR/User Privacy controls built in. It’s always great to hear about how Amplitude is helping users solve their challenges. We also appreciate the callout on embedded views and session discoverability—our team is actively investing in coverage and reliability.

"Session Replay Adds Clarity and Context to Analytics"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Amplitude Session Replay?

Amplitude Session Replay helps us move from “what happened” to “why it happened” — fast. The ability to instantly watch user sessions tied to specific events or funnels is incredibly helpful. It saves us hours of guesswork when investigating drop-offs, broken flows, or confusing UI interactions. What’s most helpful is how tightly integrated it is with Amplitude’s analytics — no need to jump between tools. We’ve used it to debug issues, validate design decisions, and spot usability problems we wouldn’t have caught through metrics alone. It’s made our product and UX reviews much more insightful and efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amplitude Session Replay?

While Amplitude Session Replay is incredibly useful, there are a few areas that could be improved. The session filtering can be a bit unintuitive at first — it takes some time to figure out the best way to narrow down sessions based on specific behaviors. Also, certain minor interactions (like small hover states or transitions) occasionally don’t get captured clearly in replays. Lastly, for teams that aren’t already using Amplitude heavily, the learning curve might be steeper since the full value comes from combining event analytics with the replay feature. "Effortless Visualisation Empowers Quick Analysis"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Amplitude Session Replay?

Visualising stuff is incredibly straightforward, allowing me to quickly diagnose and analyze numbers without having to rely on an analyst or wait to explain my requirements. It's honestly just that simple. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amplitude Session Replay?

At times, the session data is not unified, and events appear out of order. This makes it difficult to collect or construct a complete journey for a user. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Amanda Brush of Amplitude Session Replay

Hi Shubham, Thanks for the great review—it’s awesome to hear Session Replay makes it simple to visualize behavior and dig into numbers on your own without waiting on an analyst. We appreciate you flagging the times when session data doesn’t feel fully unified or events look out of order; our team is actively working to improve journey reconstruction and event ordering so those investigations are smoother. If you’re open to sharing specific examples, we’d love to take a closer look via https://support.amplitude.com/.
