  ### 4. Effective for Attorney Use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brendon R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

I like the Organization and efficiency of the Amicus program. I can keep client information as well as billing information. Additionally I can generate new pleadings in Office 365 directly from Amicus

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

I feel that the price for the software is expensive. I have been using Amicus for 10 years and have consistently seen price increases. Once your using the software it is difficult to leave to go to another program as well...

**Recommendations to others considering Amicus Attorney by CARET:**

Be certain that you are ready for commitment. It is a great program, but once you've invested in the program it is difficult to leave and expensive to maintain.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Amicus allows me to stay organized with the client content and billing information which I have. So for client tracking and billing it is perfect. Just expensive.

  ### 5. My experience started with Version 1 and I still use Amicus Atttorney now

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ronald B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

It works, reliably, and it does what it is supposed to do.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

there could be a "newbie" manual for new employees and a "tricks for old dogs" manual for those of us who still are learning new tricks we can use from Amicus Attorney

**Recommendations to others considering Amicus Attorney by CARET:**

Look at everything you can, try it all out if you can; then come back to Amicus. It really is that good.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

case management matters to any trial attorney and especially for us since we have both a local practice and a national practice. when a call comes in from a court we need to know the basics of each case quickly - Amicus does that and it does it well. And any person can "drop in" on the file of anyone else to quickly grasp the current state of events and activities - critical for management oversight of cases and caseload.

  ### 6. Never informed of updates to our system. Changes made are not notified. Lost time and money

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mea M. | Office Manager/Paralegal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Theres a built-in billing component. It supports multiple users.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Not enough support. We recently could not use Amicus Anywhere. When we called to find out what was happening, we were informed there was a system update and our version of Amicus was no longer supported. We could not update right away and unfortunately we had to make changes to our own system which was terrible as we were in the middle of a trial. Needless to say we have not upgraded yet and as a result have to write our time down and put it in manually when at our desk. It's a huge inconvenience and could have been avoided had we known about it prior.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Amicus for entering time and billing

  ### 7. Amicus Attorney manages City litigation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Linda O. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

The most helpful part of Amicus Attorney is the ability to create custom fields. We use the custom fields in our merge temples to automate the creation of documents for an office that runs an administrative court with over 5,000 new cases a year.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

It would be useful if it were easier to create new modified reports from the database. Amicus uses SQL report writer which ifs fine however the rest of the city uses data differently and is uses to going into a SQL database and grabbing data differently.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are handling a large number of small cases efficiently with precedents and documents management and document generation. we are even importing cases from the Police New world system to build new files monthly.

  ### 8. Great Software for Lawfirms

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan H. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Amicus Attorney does everything- document generation time tracking and management, communication documentation, calendaring and billing.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

The Outlook connectivity can be spotty at times. Oftentimes I need to connect messages to a file or a contact manually. At times the messages from Outlook do not directly tack into Amicus, making me monitor my Outlook folder.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Amicus Attorney laws you to basically double your productivity. Some base work in generating form documents can save you hours upon hours of cutting and pasting those documents you use everyday.

The ability to take notes in communications has allowed me to track opposing counsel and claims adjusters on cases from years ago which can be invaluable. Time tracking has been reduced to the click of a button.

  ### 9. Powerful tool that could or should do even more...

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ted (Edward) C. | Vice Chair Board Of Directors, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

It has the ability to keep phone call notes and emails all in one place - which is great, but no where to also keep or link correspondence.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Inability to efficiently or otherwise truly manage documents in a file, inability to effectively and predicably interact with Outlook for emails (many accounts do not autosave, difficult UI for managing emails

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solves deadlines well - limitations easy to document and follow.
Daily Tasks are less usable less user friendly, not nearly as useful.

  ### 10. Serves its purpose as a practice management tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David B. | Managing Director, Consulting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Amicus does an excellent job of connecting different (and many) contacts to each other. When you have a case, you can have roles for your client, plus anyone else involved (e.g., passengers in car accident), plus partners (e.g., insurance companies). That does also increase your contact database exponentially over time; but overall, it remains simple enough to navigate and find the correct contacts.

There is a reporting tool that will allow you to export your contacts also. This can be helpful if you need to move the data to other platforms, such as for marketing use.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

It runs on a desktop app, while many platforms today are moving to cloud/web apps. There's good and bad to this overall, but I would hope one day they move fully to cloud without losing function.

The report exporting / contact exporting, while wonderful to have, is limiting. You can generate a .csv to open in Excel, but, it is not well organized. You will need someone who knows how to effectively divide up the data into usable fields.

**Recommendations to others considering Amicus Attorney by CARET:**

Try the platform yourself first-hand. Make sure that you are comfortable with it. Also, determine what you really need for features. Many platforms offer various features, but focus on the ones that are must-haves before you get distracted by the bells-and-whistles.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using Amicus is a world above using more traditional methods to organize cases and contacts. It keeps you organized and helps you to have a single viewpoint to do all your work. That's a tremendous help in terms of productivity. It's also pretty simple to use, in terms of user interface, so learning and onboarding new staff is easy enough.

  ### 11. Lots of features, but clunky and more expensive than smoother competitors

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

The Amicus Attorney app is surprisingly functional, and I like that the calendar syncs with Outlook. The support staff are helpful and easy to connect with.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Everything feels so clunky and dated. When other CMS programs feel no different than searching for documents in Google Drive, it's hard to justify the lengthy steps involved to complete even the simplest task on Amicus Attorney. So. Many. Drop. Down. Menus. The interface is hard on the eyes, and nothing feels intuitive. Although the function is there, the form leads a lot to be desired. It feels like a late 1990s desktop program running 2020 functions.

**Recommendations to others considering Amicus Attorney by CARET:**

Unless you get an incredible deal on the pricing, I see now compelling reason to go with Amicus Attorney over other, more highly-rated and less expensive competitors. However, if you are stuck with it, it's workable.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our firm realizes Amicus Attorney has integrations with Outlook email, but it was not helpful due to the clunky interface and inconsistent syncing. Still, the calendaring function was usable enough to justify continuing to use Amicus Attorney for years. However, the recent doubling of our per-user price led us to explore other CMS alternatives. Once our contract is up, we plan on moving to a different, web-based CMS provider.

Having to store all our data on our own server is nerve-wracking, but Amicus Attorney's cloud-based option was quoted to us at four times the amount we will pay for a competitor's cloud-based system. My final note on Amicus Attorney is that, if you have it, it will do the job. But, if you don't have it, I see no compelling reason to choose Amicus Attorney.

  ### 12. Mostly Good, has a few quirks

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jenny L. | Chief Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Amicus maintains all file information in a user friendly format. Being able to use a group calendar to view the schedule for everyone in the office at one time is very helpful. Easy to set deadlines for cases.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Outlook/iphone link has some issues. Can be difficult to set up and sometimes stops working for no reason. Do not like the "assistance" field that puts a black circle with the word "do" in it on appointments. It is very distracting and takes away from the clean look of the calendar. This should default to none and allow you to use it if you want to. Regularly get a "sticky note" that says to make sure the Amicus Server has access to the internet. It never doesn't have access to the internet, so I am not sure why that comes up. Wish it could link to more than one time slips database like the former small firm version could.

**Recommendations to others considering Amicus Attorney by CARET:**

Works well for practice/file management but has some quirks

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

File management, time management and everyone being able to access a file.

  ### 13. Amicus Attorney

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amber S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

It is a very easy program to use and very easy to learn how to use if you do not know how to use.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

I do not have any dislikes about this program

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None

  ### 14. Helpful!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lauren H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

The billing is the BEST part of this software.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Could overall use an update. Interface is a bit antiquated.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great to schedule. Has vastly improved our billing!

  ### 15. The product is unusable.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Nothing. Support was great until they fired my customer service representative.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

I have used Amicus Attorney since 2003. This new product is not intuitive and cumbersome.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None. All I have done is attempt to navigate through a swamp without a map.

**Official Response from Natalie Lara:**

> Hi Michael,

We are so sorry for your experience. We'd like to escalate your issue to our support leadership team. Please contact csleadershipteam@abacusnext.com directly so we can ensure you are set up properly.

Sincerely,
The AbacusNext Team

  ### 16. Bait and Switch

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Donna D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

The interface is reminiscent of Windows 98. Tends to make me nostalgic for the days when software would crash instead of being entirely worthless.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

I dislike that the software is difficult to navigate. I also dislike the fact that it's not compatible with our firm and after phone calls to sales and support, they are unwilling to acknowledge that they offered us a product that did not function as described by sales.

**Recommendations to others considering Amicus Attorney by CARET:**

Go with MyCase or Clio. Use QB for accounting. That simple.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not one problem has been solved.
Benefits? No benefits with a piece of software that can not work for our firm even after sales said that it would be compatible.

  ### 17. I would say just OK

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Getting the right tech that actually works quickly and completes the task. I like that they that they will remote in right away and check servers and database for consistency.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Sometimes I get a tech that doesn't seem to know the product that well and it becomes painfully slow to resolve issues. There are about two support members that you pray and hope to get. Most of the time I have to ask for an escalation before getting my issue resolved.

**Recommendations to others considering Amicus Attorney by CARET:**

I would recommend getting help setting it up so that it is actually configured correctly from the start. If you make a mistake or want to add to it later it tends to be a lot more difficult.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We moved the server so had to reconnect PCLaw and Amicus again for billing purposes.

  ### 18. An Effective Tool to Promote Productivity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Amicus Attorney is a good system for keeping files organized and easily searchable, while allowing coordination between different members of the firm. The integrated calendar is an excellent way to ensure that team members are on the same page at all times.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

The search function for files and people will often default to a preset selection which I have been unable to find a way to change which can be very frustrating when you are trying to find something quickly, and instead have to change the presets.

**Recommendations to others considering Amicus Attorney by CARET:**

While the cost should be a factor, the program does offer multiple essential features rolled into one which is easy to coordinate with other users.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefits are certainly in relation to time management being easier, and teem coordination being faster.

  ### 19. Good Program

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Ease of searching; calendar functions; attaching people to files

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Sometimes it is frustrating to update an address of a client, but not have the update also update the spouse's contact card.

**Recommendations to others considering Amicus Attorney by CARET:**

Take your time.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's nice being able to see all firm contacts and files.

  ### 20. Do not ever install updates until they come out with fix for last update

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

The timekeeper helper is beneficial and the fact that when it works, the saving of communications with the files.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

They broke features I used daily in 2007 and still have not fixed them. I am surprised that nobody else has caught it. I have verified with tech support it is a system wide failure but they still say they are working on it. Typically when they come out with updates, it breaks more things than it fixes. Many updates are cosmetic and not function related so some updates have fixed nothing and broken many things. Now many times when you call tech support you are getting someone you can hear typing in a database trying to find the answer.

**Recommendations to others considering Amicus Attorney by CARET:**

Makre sure you look around and see what fits you better. The mobile functions are very limited almost to the extent of being useless.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have tracked time better which of course is important. I am better organized but I am sure most practice management software would do the same.

  ### 21. Amicus Attorney User.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

The way open files are displayed and the ease of searching for file.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

The process to enter new clients contact info. There are too many pop ups.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None really. Our firm mostly only uses Amicus to tract time and files.

  ### 22. Less than satisfactory.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

The name of the company is unique. That's about it.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Customer service and timing of support is poor, reporting features are useless, lots of issues with updates and functionality of the program, mass billing is not a smooth operation, updates to the program reset your profile settings and you have to figure out which ones it changes and then reset, I could go on.... Overall, we would stay clear of Amicus in the future and it's such a relief to get out of this contract.

**Recommendations to others considering Amicus Attorney by CARET:**

There is something better.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None. Some things don't get solved and you have to accept that and keep paying.

  ### 23. An Insight.

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

The Amicus application itself seems to be a stable application that serves the purpose. IT seems to be a well designed and written application. However, the overall experience is always poor because of the support team. They are not helpful at all to other MSPs who run Amicus in their environments.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Support the team's attitude and poor business practices.
Every time support is required we get a lame excuse that we do not support the terminal server environment. When as a matter of fact you have it running in a terminal server environment as well as it seems.
Most of our clients out of 1500 clients that use Amicus are fed up so are we... hence thinking of replacing this application with others.

**Recommendations to others considering Amicus Attorney by CARET:**

Do not use it if you are going to rely on their support.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

none. As soon as we have a replacement application on hand we will push for the replacement for all our clients.

**Official Response from Natalie Lara:**

> Hi there! I'm sorry your experience has not been a positive one. I've escalated your issue and believe we can get you set up properly. Please call 1-800-472-2289 at your earliest convenience and ask for manager, Baron Bhuiyan or technical lead, Charlton Fernandes.

  ### 24. Less than likely

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

That you can see all of the accounts in a row

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

everything else. The font size is an 8 pt. font that cannot be adjusted. You need a magnifying glass if you have bad eyes. The entire set up looks antiquated. You cannot delete files from the system - If you are the administrator, you should be able to have the ability to delete files if they are duplicates.

**Recommendations to others considering Amicus Attorney by CARET:**

Consider the font size, which is a font of 8pt. (you need the largest monitor they sell to read it), features (you have to open each file to see when their last payment was made, updates, better training - those videos are absolutely horrible and put you to sleep before it gets to the point. The customer service is the most ridiculous bunch. Also, Amicus is on Pacific Time and does not consider those in the Eastern Standard Time zone.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No problem solving. Our company has had the Amicus product since 2013. I recently have been so fed up with customer service not speaking clear English, customer service being 3 hours behind my time zone and boring training videos and lack of support and a poor design - I reduced my 12 license to just 1 license. I would not recommend Amicus to any law firm.

  ### 25. Great concept - not so great product

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

I like the fact that in theory you can store everything in one place and reduce time searching for documents, storing client information in various places and tracking billing

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Breaks too many times. Too many times have syncs with Outlook stopped (undetected) until someone happens to notice it and then it requires back end to fix. Too many times have I had to reset a password for no reason simply because Amicus needed it too. The price tag on this product is not small. The product should work flawlessly with minimal need for support. We have a support ticket at least monthly. If not weekly.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Created different problems. Not solving any.

  ### 26. Great docketing program.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

The ease of creating customized reports and the amount of information you can input.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

I can't think of anything. Love the program.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping all events and to do's on track.

  ### 27. Amicus is the best program we've found .

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Time keeping and the ability to save emails. Also, the ability to conduct conflict checks and document each client file with status reports, etc. The events function is also good for follow-up.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Auto-texts keeps dropping out and I've requested help before. The agent explained and I was able to resolve the problem, but it's happening again.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great time-keeping and ability to track cases.

  ### 28. Attorney and user friendly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

How easy it is to use and have all the information readily available.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Sometimes, it can be a little confusing as to how some things work- re- billing

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The accessibility of contact information and billing information

  ### 29. Promised a lot but hasn't quite delivered

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Good timekeeping module -- stopwatches work well. It takes a while to get up to speed, but it does get better over time. If attorneys enter their time concurrently, it's great. Some of the reporting is quick and easy. Tying the clients/people to all their different matters is helpful. The billing process is usually pretty smooth.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

The link with Quickbooks is more trouble than it's worth. We spent years fixing duplicate entries or finding receipts or costs that did not exchange. We've decided to hand enter the total payments, expenses and interest and that is working better. But this was a big selling point for Amicus, and had we know this in advance, we'd likely not chosen to go with Amicus.

Amicus is supposed to pay client costs first, but will only do that on each invoice. So if I have a client with several overdue invoices all which have costs, Amicus will allocate funds to the oldest invoice, not the newer costs.

The reports are limited. I regularly need reports on AR which indicate when the client made the last payment. This isn't possible. The conflict reports can be a hundred pages long, and no way to screen for the client "Day" and not get all references to Tuesday or yesterday.

The overall interface is not user-friendly and feels clunky and difficult to use. Because of this, most attorneys have not taken the time to delve into Amicus and really use it as was intended.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to get our digital client files a lot more organized. I do believe we're capturing more time than before we moved to Amicus. The partners like looking at the daily cash receipts reports. Bill Journals help understand what we've billed each month. It's also nice to be able to see what time our timekeepers have entered into the system so we know who's producing and can talk to lower producers before there's an issue.

  ### 30. THE SOFTWARE THAT ESTABLISHED MY CAREER!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

The most helpful feature of Amicus attorney is without a doubt the client portal. I love having the ability for clients to upload their documents and allowing them to monitor their case. It keeps me covered and helps show my clients that my office is constantly on the ball.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Nothing! I love this software and have no complaints.,

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Amicus Attorney helps me with organizational issues everyday. I love being able to use the custom pages feature and being able to control how my firm members view the extensive documents related to each client.

  ### 31. Constant issues with time posting

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

File access from working at home, this is much easier

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Issues with posting time, it never works

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working from home is easier

  ### 32. Perfect Service and Awesome Follow up

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Ive been an Amicus user for two decades
they helped me grow my practice and are a component of my success. I really appreciate the local expertise and service I've always received from Florida Computer Exchange....and getting details about very complex issues resolved.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

billing piece still need tweaked there are real deficiencies
the inability to have clients esign documents or send documents to sign and acknowledge is a problem

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

better organized

  ### 33. Some Great Features - Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Time Keeping and Billing work well. Helps to track progress of matters and firm profitability.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Lacking API and integration. Very difficult to integrate with marketing software such as Zapier, Drip, etc., As a non-could based user, mobile app is very limited and does not allow the same functions as other practice management software. Moving to cloud based solution was cost prohibitive when we looked into it and much more expensive than clio and other cloud based apps.

**Recommendations to others considering Amicus Attorney by CARET:**

Good solution for someone who does not want to use a cloud based service. Can be very idiosyncratic. We have had a lot of trouble teaching staff that are 40+ how to use the software because it is not as intuitive as other software. New users should spend plenty of time learning the software before deciding on firm policies and implementing the software

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time Keeping, reporting, task tracking

  ### 34. Solid practice management software for lawfirms

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Amicus ties together most elements of a solid practice management software solution, in an easy to use package. Attorneys and staff can easily accomplish all necessary tasks, and can easily find and use information.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

After the acquisition of AA by a venture capital backed buyer, the prices went up dramatically. Amicus support information is now harder to find on the website than it used to be. Improvements in core features are slow to come. The user interface is not consistent - for example the generate documents button is on wildly different places in different parts of the program.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Amicus has a useful conflicts check function, that makes it easy to run a conflicts check report. This is a KEY feature for us, and important enough that if removed, we would go on the search for a new software solution.

  ### 35. Very helpful way to organize the file!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Having all file information in one place

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

When it glitches and the program stops working!

**Recommendations to others considering Amicus Attorney by CARET:**

Get help with set-up to insure it's done right

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

File management and organization

  ### 36. Amicus Attorney Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lance V. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Simplicity and ability combine everything together (files, calendar, documents, time entries, communications etc.).

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Wish there was a bit more customization of emails created from the program.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It runs my law practice. I've been using it for 25 years and wouldn't change ever.

  ### 37. An essential tool.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bruno B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

I have been using Amicus for many years. it has become an essential part of my business. It is reliable and keeps me organized and productive.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

I have never been able to get Amicus to sync properly with Outlook. As a result, I cannot sync my calendar and check it on my phone. I wish Amicus would provide an phone application that includes my calendar. Recently, I had to remove my antivirus (AVG) at the recommendation of Amicus tech support because the two softwares were causing conflicts.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Amicus makes me better organized. Billing with Timeslips is easy.

  ### 38. Great calendaring program

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Most helpful is the list of files and how easy it is to access the file information and add to it. The calendaring program is straight forward and not hard to navigate except for when using the court rules, it gets a little confusing.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

I don't dislike much about this program. Using the court rules part to calendar does get a little confusing and would not be easy to train an attorney to use effectively.

**Recommendations to others considering Amicus Attorney by CARET:**

Easy to use, effective for calendaring deadlines and meetings, works well to keep your files and information organized.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It eliminates the need to have separate contact lists through different programs. It makes it easy to fun conflict checks since all files are archived within the program. I have not used any other services other than calendaring and file management.

  ### 39. Best Legal management software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Ease of use. We been using amicus for more than 10 years and the software is such an ease to use. We have recommended the software to lot of other firms. The software does everything for our firms needs.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

The interface should be updated. it's been good but can be more modernized.

**Recommendations to others considering Amicus Attorney by CARET:**

it's afordable and amicus does the job.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For us the best it that amicus works with our accounting software pclaw. That integration saves us lot of time.

  ### 40. Amicus Attorney software is great for legal calendaring and billing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

We use the billing software to integrate with Quick books. The date calculator is very useful for calendaring case-related deadlines. The new mobile application is excellent for billing purposes! It makes it a breeze to catch all the attorneys' time. Customer support is always quick and efficient.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

We would love to be able to have a calendar function within the mobile application.

**Recommendations to others considering Amicus Attorney by CARET:**

Great for legal firms.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to work on the go with Amicus Attorney, especially with the new mobile application which allows the attorney to get all their time captured. The calendar integration with Outlook means we can get calendar reminders as needed on our phones as well.

  ### 41. Good tool to document information

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Amicus Attorney is a good tool to document information. It appears technically sound and provides several different functions that we use, including our telephone/address inventory and the ability to upload documents to the individual client files.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

I dislike the fact that if the internet goes down the entire law firm is not able to use Amicus Attorney.

**Recommendations to others considering Amicus Attorney by CARET:**

Good value for the price.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have not utizlied Amicus Attorney in this manner; however, the positive benefit is that we can keep all of the client's information in one location.

  ### 42. Long-time Amicus Attorney User

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

I've used Amicus Attorney in small firm settings and as a solo practitioner. I rely on it to keep time records and phone call notes, associate everything with files, clients and non-client contacts. It's been invaluable to my practice.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

I wish it were directly integrated to my phone rather than having to go through Microsoft Outlook, and that it had a better billing platform.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The centralization of information is the greatest benefit, together with being able to access data in a variety of different ways.

  ### 43. There are some daily "bugs" with Amicus, but overall customer service is helpful.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

I have been using Amicus for over a decade and I am familiar with it.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

There are frequent issues. Regardless of clearing my cache, I still often have to try a few times to respond to an email before I can get the history of that email chain displayed in my response email window, and my signature block that is supposed to always display when responding to emails. It is frustrating.

**Recommendations to others considering Amicus Attorney by CARET:**

Amicus is a helpful law practice management tool all in one integrated platform. There is easy access to email, calendar, time/expense tracking, and integrated billing system.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Family law issues.

  ### 44. Technical Support lacking

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Easy assimilation of information and navigation of file

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

Technical support is not good. Our office has had issues with lagging opening documents takes a minimum of 30 seconds every time as does opening Amicus itself. This was never previously the case. So far after weeks we are still waiting for a solution.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

good for cross referencing and accessibility to the file information - allows everyone dealing with the file to get a quick overview of the file status and activity and pending events.

  ### 45. Good product but don't use it enough.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

I love that all of your contact information can be found in one easy location, which can be accessed by everyone in your firm.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

The downside, if I work for someone who doesn't want to change the way we have always done things.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Other than being able to have everyone access the same date/information at the same time, I haven't solved anything.

  ### 46. Works, affordable, not all that many features

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

It is easy to use and affordable, and the support is great.

**What do you dislike about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

It could use more features, and some of the integration is clunky.

It's a good program, especially now that it is on the cloud. Customer service for inmplemntation is excellent, and it's a good value overall.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps keep client files together, manages documents decently.

Having to maintain a server infrastructure for the Amicus program and database

Make sure you are ready to commit to changing processes and allowing Amicus to drive processes and automation.

**What problems is Amicus Attorney by CARET solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Amicus Attorney by CARET?**

You at least kept my old client base- other than that not much.

program closes down when you don't intend; cannot transport from one screen to another easily; contact list brings up the wrong contact; generally not nearly as user friendly as previous versions

**Recommendations to others considering Amicus Attorney by CARET:**

We can no longer transfer billing to QuickBooks; older versions worked much better in all regards; this view shared by other users I am aware of; please just re-issue the previous program before you purchased the company.

only problems are created by the program and we have realized no benefits.
