AWS is absolutely killer in terms of presenting operational tools for businesses and doing based on internet RFCs. Out of the many services they provide, it is great that they have offerings that let businesses run virtually and securely. I can see great thought was used in creating the platform. Most of the services are for devops but 10% approx are useful business tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Amazon WorkMail? Different functions are in bad shape. Am not speaking from a developer standpoint and looking at business tools. AWS Workmail is great in its framework and reliability but whoever manages that product line is letting it flounder. The product has basic flaws in it. If you need to get fancy with SMTP configuration for outbound email control, forget it. Their SES interface and workmail outbound is useless. I need to specify outbound to Trendmicro Hosted filtering and AWS cant do it. they tried to give me a workaround that was about 50 steps on the AWS side, and then I had to double my licenses to trendmicro because part of the workaround was to create a mail. domain name. And my favorite so far is they do not have the ability to use DLists. You can create them but they fail if the DList has internal and external emails in it. They say they are working on it but 5 years into the release of the service and they can't even do a basic function that Off365 and Google easily handles. If you are going to provide competing services, they at least need the basics.... I have 13 companies managed under AWS WOrkmail. if nothing is done soon, I have to move them to Google... What problems is Amazon WorkMail solving and how is that benefiting you? AWS Workmail and other AWS services would be an excellent answer to Microsoft or Google. They have technical capabilities: S3 storage, virtual desktops and servers, Domain registration, DNS management... EVERYTHING you need to create a virtual network for clients. A tool of amazon web services, has a different and simple interface, which only serves for email and calendar. Configuring is extremely easy and fast to do through the console of amazon web services. If they are implementing your solution in amazon's servers with route53, it updates the records automatically, so it makes the implementation work much easier. Really a simple application to send and receive emails. Its price is lower than its competitors so if you are implementing with aws is an option to send and receive mail. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Amazon WorkMail? I think amazon workmail is very much behind other competitors like google suite or Microsoft Outlook. Its interface is complicated to understand, it doesn't present any kind of innovation and I really consider it to be a very mediocre tool. I have had problems to open emails, which do not load completely. Besides all this is not integrated with other applications, so it is a mail isolated from any other functionality. I find it tedious to have to open the mail from a specific link. I have tried to open by my phone and the interface is different, the emails do not open well, just this in the beta version so it does not have full functionality. really amazon has a long way to go. The web client does what it should do. You can edit and send mails. High volumes of mails are no problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Amazon WorkMail? IMAP: seems to be not working. Outlook: close to impossible to get working. iOS: hard to configure and intermittent time outs / slow downloads. POP3: not supported. Web client: it does not work on a small mobile screen. Web client: having 10K of calendar items it takes 1 minute to load the calendar. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Amazon WorkMail: When you only need a web client for mails and have \<50 users, it is OK. Otherwise I would consider another product which are similarly priced.
