The cost is only 50 cents per hosted zone, so anyone could easily afford it. It offers premium DNS service in low cost. AWS Route 53 is still missing the DNSSEC feature, it does not support it at all for any hosted zone in any region. The new version of AWS Route 53 is little bit complex comparing to previous version. Easy to setup and manage your DNS endpoints There are different type of routing ex, ipv4, cname etc, supports with ec2,elb,rds(databases) and what else, and additional settings like ttl helps in speeding up our change reflection recently they have introduced aliasing, etc right now it has improved a lot both in the UI and options wise, i have not yet explored them Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. I like Amazon's AWS Route 53's reliability, fast service and less propagation timing. In my opinion if nameservers are properly set, then propagation of any changes of addition doesn't take more than few seconds throughout the internet, if you are using AWS Route 53. I have recently been added to the management team of my company and I must admit that managing the corporate network as well as company DNS is very simple with Amazon route53. I like the simplicity with which you can go to change the essential data. it has a very user-friendly interface and you have to make it simple to buy a domain or manage it. from here we can set both outgoing and incoming rules on our DNS so as to better manage all the network traffic that occurs on it. What do you dislike about Amazon Route 53? what I don't really like is the fact that you don't have a subscription that includes everything but you have small subheadings and each of them has its own price. It is amazingly simple to use and quite complicated to make a mistake in it. Specially if you use other AWS services, as it autocompletes existing endpoints for some of its services (ELBs, EBS environments, VPC endpoints) to create aliases, that way you never have to update it as long as that resource exists. Most types of DNSs also include really helpful examples, I can not tell you how many times it has avoided me having to search for the right syntax of MX records :P Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Pointing one DNS to another is great and autocompletes... except when you have a lot of DNSs, which is when you need it the most :( It would also be great if it had the ability to temporarily disable entries when you are testing stuff. Recommendations to others considering Amazon Route 53: If you have a service that can not sit behind an ELB, use weighted record sets to round-robin among them. And you can even use Failovers with a cloudwatch healthcheck to provide fallbacks on external services that give you little control over that kind of functionality during maintenances or downtimes Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
