The best features of AWS 53 service its simplicity to obtain and manage domain. AWS simple interface makes it great user experience even for non-it person. AWS 53 service is easily to associate with other AWS services. In addition to web interface - there is a possibility to create and completely manage domain via AWS CLI. Comparative to other popular services AWS 53 has very detailed availability and performance monitoring where you can set up an email or sms alert message if you website is down. With DNS failover if your node is not healthy you can reroute traffic to another resource. It allows to set a specific forwarding rules and do it on the DNS level, which is the fastest way Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Amazon Route 53? The disadvantage is its complexity if you go beyond creating "A" and "C" records. To the best of my knowledge AWS never has any discounts like (1-st year $.99) like godaddy and gator frequently have. IT'S VERY, VERY HARD to transfer domain even to another aws account when we tried to transfer domain to our customers. It took 2-3 weeks many calls to support and a lot of pain. Recommendations to others considering Amazon Route 53: Choose AWS if you want to have all your domains in one place, has a technical skill to work with AWS CLI and will use their alerts or DNS fail-over service to redirect traffic to another place in case your main node is not available. I like the steps involved in setting up a DNS mapping , its really quick and w=easy when it comes to AWS Rout53 I have seen them continuously improve, if i look back to the day i started using Rout53 , there is a tremendous change they develops features that really helps us , they support multipal types of DNS setup like ctype (ELB based), ipv4 (EC2 ip based) and alias which is like a direct link etc .. we can also setup alerts and checks in there, a improved search feature and recently launched UI changes are really great, its reliable and simple Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
