For just one buck, you can register a domain name @ Route 53, the welcome page seemed extremely persuasive and Free? The support team replied reasonably and timely with detailed information as described in their workbook. Signed up for evaluation purpose, given the experiences with Amazon I never had doubts, ever. Unfortunately AWS isn't average consumer service, critical KBs are not all available or localized. Therefore I decided to terminate the service and end up the evaluation, and it took me two months submitted different tickets to query how-to. No support team would not enable nor disable services you initiated by accidents, support only provide standard practice that may not even work... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Amazon Route 53: Amazon Route 53 isn't for end-users in general, suggest doing some study or taking online courses before sign-up the services charged by different measurements. The support team can only reply to problem-solving steps as they don't have privileges to create nor terminate any account and services. Amazon Route 53 indeed shocked me by the different e-mail threads I had with support team. Only partial documents are localized in previous version, information may not be accurate to user's knowledge, even worse trapped in an endless loop on the website. Amazon Route 53 is generally used for DNS Routing. Using Amazon Route 53 we can easily route the general users using a DNS name to a specific web address(IP Address). It is easy to use and maintains with good quality and cost-saving service that is provided by Amazon. Amazon Route 53 provide really good security for the base address that handles the TCP and UDP both the traffic Request. I have set up my company, portfolio DNS address using the Amazon Route 53 because It is low cost compared to the other service providers. It is easy to maintain the DNS using route53. It also can handle both TCP and UDP requests. I really like working with Amazon route53. In the Amazon console, we just need to verify our domain name and IP address to set up the route using route53. I used Route 53 to route my company domain from a specific IP address that is helpful for the multiple users able to search the company website on the internet with help of the company name then it is easy for them. Route 53 is integrated right into AWS, so it is easy for developers and DevOps people to use without changing platforms/products. The interface is a bit basic, especially for DNS options like TXT which can be multi-valued. In AWS you get a multi-line text editor with a limited width so its a little unintuitive and a little constrained when trying to do things like edit SPF records, add verification records for Google webmaster tools, or things like that. Amazon route53 is a great way to route your traffic from internet to your application. It provides an efficient way for traffic-management. Users can use route 53 to route their application users to different server based on their geo location, application health status, load on application etc. It has DNS failover feature which let end user to route to an different page if the application is down due to certain reasons. The route53 interface could have been better. Also, if your application runs on-premise, then using route-53 will make your life a bit harder because it has limited integration with on-prem. We run a highly available government-based application on AWS. To serve users with minimal latency, we're using route 53 latency-based routing for an optimal experience. Many times server goes down; at that time, route-53 helps us to divert traffic to running servers instead of the dead one. This allows us to maintain the maximum availability of applications. Route 53 is a Domain Registrar used to update our own domain names. It has the ability to check the health of our resources, and it provides 100% availability SLA. In Route 53, we can create different record types and maps the hostname to IPV4 & IPV6. Also maps a hostname to another hostname. Route53 has hosted zones feature which defines how to route the traffic to domain and it's subdomains. Route 53 has the ability to create Alias Records and maps the hostname to any AWS resource. Before Route 53, all the client's requests were routed to DNS to get the IP address. Using Amazon Route 53, it provides DNS response with Time To Live(TTL). The thing i really like of AWS Route 53 is their uptime i have never found any down time with route 53. Also the cost of hosted zone is very low and inexpensive anyone can afford it easily .The propagation of records is so fast it took only few minutes for updating records. I was assigned a task by a company which i work in to deploy dev , qa ,stage environment on AWS ECS also i have to point those container services to the domain name so that developers can access those environments easily for checking out the reflection of their codes which they pushed to the containers by using pipelines. As i was using load balancer to route traffic to the respective containers i came across to route 53 which gives support to route traffic using domain name with application load balancer.
