The thing I value most about Amazon RDS is how easy it is to handle database jobs. We are able to concentrate more on application development and less on database management because of the automated backups, simplicity and scalability options. What do you dislike about Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS)? High Cost is one issue with Amazon RDS, particularly as the database increases. Although the service has many great features, the cost can add up rapidly, especially if you need a lot of storage and have high availability settings. Also, some users who require more customization may find the restricted control over some parameters, in comparison to self-managed databases, to be restricting. The great thing about RDS is the shift in how we operate. Instead of having to buy a new server, install an operating system, and a bunch of other tasks, then download the backup data, then restore, and finally start replicating, now with just a few operations my RDS cluster can scale 1 or more nodes. Not only that, tasks like updating mysql version using Blue/Green approach can now be completely delegated to application team members without having to depend on devops team, which I find really useful. I find it difficult to estimate exactly how much money I should spend on RDS, as it depends on many factors. Perhaps that is one of the few things I am not satisfied with about RDS. When the organization has a lot of micro services, and most of them use mysql, being able to quickly deploy mysql to the teams will really be a problem and overload the infrastructure team. But now RDS helps us do that with just a simple pull request (IaC), this work now the application team can do it themselves without the need for the infrastructure team. This helps the application team quickly deploy, test their software. Not only that, with the blue/green method, upgrading, modifying related to RDS cluster becomes easy even for people who do not have much experience with operations. Its a place where you find everythign related to cloud servuces like the VM's, database, load balancing, storage, security, firewall,etc. So there is no need to join any other product if you are in the cloud and want everythingin a dingle place that's the best thing i like in the AWS cloud. There's also a learning curve for mastering AWS services, and configuring and maintaining security controls requires ongoing attention. The first problem is that help to migrate my alll the servers on virtually that help a lot of cost in my organization, there is the feature also if you want to backup your servers daily at very low cost : you can directly export your EC2, RDS backup to the S3 bucket on the different type of flexible costing parameters that help to reduce approx 90% of my backup cost. The platform takes care of many of the headaches of database management like backups, patching, and replication, which allows you to focus on application development rather than the infrastructure and db server.one of the biggest advantages is its scalability. You can easily scale up or down based on your needs, and it's quite handy when your database usage fluctuates. The integration set up is awesome.it is easy to implement and integration with other services. The support is also good. I've used the AWS RDS service for my company's dev, uat, and production environment, RDS is very helpful in managing objects in the database because AWS RDS is fully managed service, so I don't need to continuously manage the operating system in the database, so I can focus on developing queries and objects in the database. Its simple beautiful when you just dump the required pages or files for the website in S3 and follow the process of hosting that completes in 10 - 20 minutes.
