## Amazon QuickSight Reviews
  ### 1. Fast, Cloud-Native BI That Scales with Your Data

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Amazon QuickSight?**

QuickSight’s strongest asset is its seamless integration with AWS infrastructure. The ability to ingest data directly from services like Redshift, Athena, and S3 with minimal setup is a major advantage for cloud-native teams. The SPICE engine significantly improves query performance and dashboard responsiveness, especially for large datasets. Embedding dashboards into web applications is straightforward via the API, and the pay-per-session pricing model is cost-effective for scalable deployments.

**What do you dislike about Amazon QuickSight?**

The platform’s limitations become apparent when attempting advanced customization. Visualization options are rigid, and formatting controls are minimal compared to tools like Tableau or Power BI. The calculated field editor lacks robust debugging tools, and complex logic often requires workarounds. Documentation is sparse for non-standard use cases, and support channels are slow to respond with actionable guidance. Additionally, version control and collaborative development features are missing, which can hinder enterprise-level BI workflows.

**What problems is Amazon QuickSight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use QuickSight as our go-to self-service analytics layer on top of AWS. It hooks directly into Redshift and S3 so we can spin up interactive dashboards in minutes and load million-row reports. Internally, uses it to explore metrics in real time, and externally we embed and share complex, interactive reports with clients so they get deep insights without ever touching raw data or juggling multiple tools.

  ### 2. Embedded Analytics Enhance Business Insights

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anakha B.

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Amazon QuickSight?**

I appreciate Amazon QuickSight’s embedded analytics in customer-facing apps, making it really useful for my business. The interactive dashboard and chart features for reporting directly into apps or websites are outstanding, enhancing data visualization for external users. I find the machine learning insights extremely valuable, as they automatically detect outliers and forecast trends, perfectly aligning with my work needs. Additionally, the pay-per-session pricing is cost-effective, because I pay only when users view the dashboards.

**What do you dislike about Amazon QuickSight?**

I would prefer Amazon QuickSight to offer a free version, rather than just the paid option.

**What problems is Amazon QuickSight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Amazon QuickSight to create dashboards, operational reports, monitor KPIs, and embed analytics in apps. It’s cost-effective with pay-per-session pricing, integrates with AWS, and offers machine learning insights for anomaly detection, enhancing decision-making with actionable data.

  ### 3. A solid but sometimes frustrating analytics tool for everyday use

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Machinery | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Amazon QuickSight?**

I appreciate how QuickSight integrates seamlessly with other AWS services, which makes pulling in large datasets relatively smooth once everything is set up. The pricing structure is also attractive compared to some of the bigger BI tools — I don’t feel like I’m paying for endless features I won’t use. It’s lightweight, fast to load dashboards, and I like that I can share reports across teams without needing to create overly complicated user accounts.

**What do you dislike about Amazon QuickSight?**

Where QuickSight falls short for me is in the usability and polish of its interface. Some of the workflows feel clunky — creating calculated fields or drilling down into visuals isn’t nearly as intuitive as in Tableau or Power BI. Styling and formatting options are quite limited and can make dashboards look generic or “unfinished.” I also find that the documentation doesn’t always go deep enough, so when I hit a snag, I’m left piecing things together through trial and error. Lastly, managing permissions can be unexpectedly fiddly, especially for non-technical colleagues.

**What problems is Amazon QuickSight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Amazon QuickSight solves the problem of making data visualization and business intelligence accessible and scalable within the AWS ecosystem. It addresses the need for a cost-effective, cloud-native analytics tool that can handle large datasets without requiring extensive infrastructure management or setup, unlike traditional on-premises BI solutions.
For me as an analyst, this means I can quickly connect to various AWS data sources and start creating interactive dashboards and reports with minimal IT support. The scalability and serverless architecture free me from concerns about performance issues or hardware limitations, allowing me to focus on analyzing data rather than managing servers.

  ### 12. Powerful Visualization Tool with Room for Smoother User Experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Meier C. | Other, Market Research, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Amazon QuickSight?**

One of the best things about Amazon QuickSight is how perfectly it integrates with other AWS services. If you're already in the AWS ecosystem, getting started is fairly straightforward, and data sources like Redshift, S3, RDS, and Athena connect easily. The performance with SPICE is impressive, allowing for fast querying and snappy dashboards even with large datasets. The visuals themselves are modern, clean, and interactive. I like the ability to build dashboards that are not only informative but also visually appealing without too much effort. The embedding capabilities are a major plus for integrating dashboards into internal applications. Cost-wise, the pay-per-session model is also smart, especially for organizations looking to scale without overpaying for infrequent users.

**What do you dislike about Amazon QuickSight?**

The user interface could be more intuitive. There’s a learning curve, especially for new users or non-technical stakeholders who aren’t familiar with AWS products. Some simple actions, like formatting visuals, adjusting filters, or customizing dashboard layout, take more clicks or steps than you’d expect. Documentation has improved but can still feel fragmented at times. Another downside is the limited customization of visuals compared to other BI tools like Tableau or Power BI. While it covers the basics well, power users might find the chart types and formatting options a bit restrictive. Also, support for more advanced calculated fields and data transformation within QuickSight is still evolving and sometimes requires working around with pre-processed data.

**What problems is Amazon QuickSight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before QuickSight, reporting was a fragmented process involving multiple tools, a lot of manual effort, and constant back-and-forth between stakeholders and the analytics team. QuickSight helped centralize and automate reporting. We’ve reduced load times and minimized pressure on our databases during peak usage. By using QuickSight, we’ve cut down reporting time from hours to minutes. Business users can now explore data on their own through interactive dashboards, which has freed up our technical team to focus on more strategic tasks. The cost-efficiency of the pay-per-session model is a major benefit, especially as we scale our usage across more departments without needing to buy a license for every user.

  ### 13. Overall i like it

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Amazon QuickSight?**

It connects really well with other AWS tools we use, and it’s super fast when using SPICE. I also like that we don’t have to manage any servers; it just works. I haven't used much customer support, as docs are helpful. The features cover most of the needs but aren't super advanced. It is easy to integrate and implement with other AWS stuff. I use it a few times in a month

**What do you dislike about Amazon QuickSight?**

The visuals feel a bit limited, and it’s not the most beginner-friendly if you're new to AWS. Live queries can lag a little too.

**What problems is Amazon QuickSight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps in tracking and visualising data from AWS services without jumping through hoops. Easy to create dashboards and share them across teams, which has made reporting easier and more real-time.

  ### 31. Amazon QuickSight easy to use with other AWS services and good for beginners with BI reporting

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Amazon QuickSight?**

Amazon QuickSight is a good choice to use with AWS services like S3 and AWS Redshift. It is cost effective as you only pay when you access dashboards in QuickSight. Also it supports SQL, CSV and EXECL file formats which is useful for implementation. QuickSight is much more simpler than other BI reporting tools like Power BI hence its easy for beginners to learn and use. Quicksight has good collaboration and sharing within AWS hence can be useful if used often within the team. It is serverless hence no infrastructure to manage. Support by AWS Customer Support.

**What do you dislike about Amazon QuickSight?**

Amazon QuickSight does not support many external connectors for integration with other services, hence not so easy to integrate with third party software. It has limited collaboration and sharing options. Also no dedicated standalone app related with its services.

I use QuickSight every now and then. Have been using BI but switched quicksight as its very convenient to use especially scalability. Kind of makes my life easier

  ### 37. A Powerful and Affordable BI Tool for AWS Users, with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Reshail R. | Analytics Manager. In this role, I use Amazon QuickSight to oversee data analysis, create interactive dashboards, and provide actionable insights that support strategic decision-making across the organization., Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Amazon QuickSight?**

Stochastic integration with AWS is QuickSight's best feature in my opinion, joined by its very cheap pay-per-session pricing and one of the most user-friendly interfaces. Therefore, with the natural language query (QuickSight Q), it makes data analysis fast and easy, while large datasets are handled smoothly, with great scalability. An ideal choice for AWS-centric people.

**What do you dislike about Amazon QuickSight?**

It can be disappointing to see the broad customization options provided by other vendors-for instance, Tableau or Power BI-not being extended to Amazon QuickSight in areas of visualization or dashboard customization. Very large datasets may slow down performance; complex queries generally cause difficulties; and integration with non-AWS data sources sometimes requires extra effort, though AWS definitely has a lot of built-in connectors. Besides, basic features are easy to learn, but advanced features like calculated fields or custom SQL queries have a steep learning curve in that it may take weeks or months to truly master all the technicalities. Even these limits might obstruct people attempting to achieve more nicely tailored or complex analytics solutions.

**What problems is Amazon QuickSight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Amazon QuickSight solves critical business problems by improving the accessibility of data for non-technical teams using an intuitive dashboard and natural language queries. With pay-per-session pricing, it has made data analysis an inexpensive option. The tool delivers real-time insights for faster decision-making by offering up-to-date visualizations and reports. Also, it centralizes data from various AWS services such as S3 and Redshift, thereby enabling efficient reporting and increasing overall efficiency. This has truly empowered data-driven decision-making across our organization.

  ### 38. Fairly intuitive and powerful enough for dataset contained within AWS

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicolas G. | Cloud FinOps Analyst, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Amazon QuickSight?**

Quicksight has good visualization capabilities, and integrates well with AWS-hosted datasets. It offers a good entry point to BI tools, whit enough tools to put something together quickly yet effectively fairly intuitive (although some features are not so straightforward i.e. page filters)
On top of that, it does do well in access controls (both at a row and column level), and can be configured with AWS ML capabilities for alerts and annomalies.
Creating calculating fields will require a bit of learning, but easy enogh to pick up if you are familiar with other BI´s tools syntaxes.
The pricing model is flexible enough and can be a good choice for a BI tool when the use base is small.

**What do you dislike about Amazon QuickSight?**

Navigating the IAM permissions can be a bit painful, and it´s prone to duplication of licenses for users (specially in multiple AWS accounts environments).
Things like filters and parameters are not the most straigthforward thing to implement, and there is little room for customization of visuals (which can feel very restrictive for advance Tableau users).
As far as I could see, there is no easy way to create ´tamplate´ dashboard to re-use/re-deploy across different AWS accounts, and if you are a PowerBI user you may really miss Power Query like tools to clean and prepare your data.
For less-technical users, there may be a bit of a learning curve that will require some SQL skills, specially if you are pulling your data from Athena views

**What problems is Amazon QuickSight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

QuickSights helps me visualize multiple datasets that are kept within our AWS environment in Athena.
It also provides good insights into out of the box AWS Cost and Usage data when you deploy CUDOS Dashboard (althought doing this will require some development effort and the support from AWS is not alway the best)

  ### 39. An incredible and easy way to work with the BI world.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rafael S. | Telematics Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Amazon QuickSight?**

The ease with which the system can introduce you to the creation and elaboration of well-structured dashboards and reports with just a few clicks.

Easy to use data migration to dashboards, providing a wide variety of data management tools for data entry.

**What do you dislike about Amazon QuickSight?**

It tends to be slow sometimes, and there are limitations in the visualizations. But it is normal because it is a version that is on the market recently and is improving over time.

**What problems is Amazon QuickSight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To make a dashboard for the sales team of the company to visualize the amount of packages that were sold in a x zone of the country. And which products are the best sellers in the company by months.

**What do you like best about Amazon QuickSight?**

QuickSight has honestly made my life easier. I work with a lot of data, and being able to connect everything in one place and turn it into clear visuals without writing tons of code - game-changer. It’s fast, the dashboards look great, and I can share them easily with my team. I also love that it works smoothly with other AWS tools — it just fits into the workflow. Took a bit of time to get used to, but once I got the hang of it, I started using it every day. Highly recommend if you want something clean, powerful, and cloud-based

**What do you dislike about Amazon QuickSight?**

It’s really powerful once you get used to it, but the learning curve can be steep at first — especially if you're not already familiar with AWS or data modeling concepts.

**What problems is Amazon QuickSight solving and how is that benefiting you?**

QuickSight helps me turn raw data into clear, interactive dashboards without needing to build everything from scratch or rely heavily on engineering. It saves me a ton of time by letting me connect to multiple data sources and create real-time insights quickly.

It’s also made it easier to share data stories with my team — even non-technical teammates can understand what’s going on through the visuals. Overall, it’s helped us make faster, data-driven decisions without needing a full BI team for support.
