What I love the mnost about Amazon Q is the Research feature, that enables the user to produce comprehensive reports with just one prompt, either in English or in Spanish language. It is too easy to pull of these reports, insights or research material out of the data sets connected to Amazon Quicksight account Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There is room for improvement in the chat agent when used to get technical advice related to custom queries settings, but it is a first great approach to learn to write custom queries without having any technical background.

Another improvement opportunity is the time that Reasearch feature takes to generate a report (depending on the amount of data to be read): it could be faster Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We are using Amazon Q Code Whisperer as a general code completion and generation tool. It is very easy to use both standalone and as a plugin for VSCode. The code completion feature is great and have a good understanding of full software project we are working on, as well as good insights on AWS-specific items. While Amazon Q claims to be able to generate full project-level files, I personally found this feature to be incomplete. Given the right prompts it does, as promised, create all the needed files for the task, with a reasonable code-skill level, but it has been my experience that post-generation additions or fixes tend to break the existing code. I like Amazon Q because it enhances the terminal experience by adding a UI layer, making it incredibly easy to browse folders and files and autocomplete and suggest commands; even on terminals like iTerm2 (which is old compared to Warp or Hyper), and does it natural, smooth and responsive feeling as it was just extra native features of the terminal. The Ask AI feature is a game-changer—it’s perfect for quickly searching, troubleshooting, or getting suggestions for bash scripts and commands.
