If you're setting up an EC2 VM it's the lowest cost option, but yet without concern that it's going to be lacking any resilience, or that you have to find your own support. I have been using Amazon Linux 2 for testing, projects for a very long time and it's doing a wonderful job. AWS has a great package manager that makes it easy with dependencies and software.
