What do you like best about Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose?

Amazon kitnesis allows you to process realtime streaming data directly from the aws console.It has many best features such as it is scalable,and processes the streaming data in realtime.It also has a sub module named kinesis data firehouse which allows you to capture transform and store data in the Aws data.By storing such data you can easily process it using AI tools for near real time applications.So it is much helpful for managing realtime streaming data. Recommendations to others considering Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose:

I recommend using amazon kinesis for developing webapps which serves the user for realtime applications and have to deal with processing realtime data and give processed output in near realtime.Also you can use it for various other purposes like providing realtime data to your machine learning model and help it train as soon as the data arrives because kinesis stores the data on aws cloud which is easy to access and understand by ml nodels.So it is recommended for doing variety of tasks. What problems is Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose solving and how is that benefiting you?

I have been using amazon kinesis for processing realtime streaming data collected from the webapp or webservice and produce the realtime output by processing it and providing realtime support to the user.I have actually used kinesis for developing apps for clients which required realtime data processing,We used it to store the data on aws cloud,process it using our algorithms and provide end output to the resultant user and all this was done in near realtime so kinesis served a great part in doing sp. What do you like best about Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose?

The configuration of Kinesis Firehose is simple and can be used to stream real-time data from various data sources to Amazon Redshift database in a continuous manner. This eliminates the creating and maintenance of complicated ETL processing pipelines and batch processing delays. This definitely helps in having near real-time data available for analytic purposes. What do you dislike about Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose?

The Kinesis agent configuration needs more flexibility in configuring the data steams to allow simple data manipulation and transformation before processing and loading the the target tables in Redshift. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Pros:

Simple configuration for setting up and getting started. Easy to load real-time data to Amazon Redshift database in a continuous manner which allows us to have real-time data for analytics and dashboards.

Cons:

Needs improvement for on-the-fly data transformation manipulation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose solving and how is that benefiting you?

Have near real-time data for analytics and data visualization using Tableau and QuickSight. Kinesis also allows us to eliminate ETL pipelines for staging the raw data in the database. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose?

Hooks into Lambda nicely, speed is pretty good for throughput when it's working. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose?

When you're use to SQS, you want to know more details about processes that are in the pipeline. I know there is an internal "queue" type mechanism but it's not possible to see the status of items that were submitted, or find out if there is a backlog. I wish it acted more like SQS in this respect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose:

It's not an alternative to SQS. Keep track of your jobs outside of kinesis and make sure there is retry logic outside of your code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
