What do you like best?

The ease of use that makes FreeRTOS the best among all. It meets all your requirements for the real-time embedded application with its vast features. But what makes it a top-class RTOS is its documentation that is so well written that even a newbie can use it without hassle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

It's hard to think right now that what I dislike but I think it's the absence of tracing tool for FreeRTOS. FreeRTOS must also include any trace analyzer tool with its source code bundle to help developers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Use the Amazon FreeRTOS if you want an RTOS that'll meet all your requirements for the real-time embedded application with its vast features. You'll find it handy to use with its excellent documentation. The ease of use that makes FreeRTOS the best among all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I have been developing a real-time embedded application having IoT architecture. As we were using AWS IoT for the Same we give FreeRTOS a try and it proves why amazon is the tech leader. We have a complex embedded architecture of multiple boards and multiple node sensors in which FreeRTOS plays a major role in scheduling our code properly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

The simplicity in terms of implementation that free-rtos gives is just another level.

It is easy to get started with and have a huge positive impact on the development cycle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

What I dislike is just that there must be more flexibility in the lower level implementation of freertos, but for simple to medium complex real-time systems, this is great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I will advise everyone to use amazon freertos who needs to speed up their development cycle and need a fast, clean and simple real-time operating system which fit perfectly in every real-time solution need Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I am working in the sanitation sector. Our product gives the common people the feel of smart sanitation.

Our product heavily powered by the freertos at its core for its real-time solution.

In my opinion, freertos is performing as per the expectation in every aspect be it the speed or control for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

This software is easy for applications to connect to AWS IoT & AWS Greengrass, directly, and without having smart gateways acting as intermediaries. At start up you get components for basic MQTT communication, AWS endpoint discovery, over the air firmware updates, and others.

As a great plus lightweight devices, sensors and actuators, can be implemented using this system as they will use MQTT to communicate with the Greengrass core, eliminating the need to integrate other communications protocols to the system. This is just the beginning of the system project. We will update further on as the project progresses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

There are security issues with the system that has added risk that could lead to information leaking, a denial of service attack and other threats. And another is that the CPU loads at 100 percent for some seconds. Don't know why this is necessary, and not sure as to what is going on to have that happen. But the security threats are the most important of my dislikes. Would like to see what they do with that regard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

There are other options such as CoreOS but just try it out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

So far, we are in the beginning stages of the trying the system against CoreOS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
