EKS is best fit for kubernetes applications because it's very easy to setup and provides lots of built-in functionalities that takes care of all the tedious tasks like autoscaling and DNS binding that makes it easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Its easy to get started with k8s with the help of managed service like AWS EKS, that hides some internal complexity and reduces the learning curve.

EKS is priced as pay as you use, so its more cost effective for smaller workload and cost transperncy is there

vendor lock-in, like other AWS services there is vendor lock-in espcially if you use it with other AWS services like S3, dynamoDB, ELB etc and later on moving to some other cloud provider can be a daunting task for you.

Its not the cheapest service in the market and some of its competitors offers almost same functionality as a considerable less cost Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Earlier we were using EC2 to host our application backend APIs but our main problem was scaling, in peak hours we used to replicate our application on some other EC2s an update the traffic from Nginx settings, but this manual effort was hectic and random. The best thing about Amazon EKS is it is fully managed by AWS and it can be seamless integrated with other AWS services like Amazon ECR to pull images from the registry and also have fantastic documentation to work with Amazon EKS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
