Maintenance overhead needed when you install a self-provisioned K8S cluster is very high. With EKS maintenance of master nodes is not needed anymore. The reliability of the service is another plus. Furthermore, the easy integration with vertical cluster autoscaler allows to scale up/down nodes saving a lot of money. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. It's absolutely wonderful of how managed your kubernetes architecture has been made so that you can focus on your actual work.
