It saw many downtime because of resources overload, whereas EKS autoscaling solved our this problem and when portal goes down EKS automatically recreats another container making it highly available. It creates master nodes, and we only need to generate worker nodes. It is costly; most of our cost borne by the company is due to aws service; moreover, we need to manually update any new update, although it helps to check the current version; sometimes nodes do not recover automatically. It can be integrated well using existing aws services. 4. Has good documentation and support. Also, the community is the largest among others, as far as I can guess. Nice integration with existing AWS services like ELB, S3,RDS etc Its easy to get started with k8s with the help of managed service like AWS EKS, that hides some internal complexity and reduces the learning curve. Earlier we were using EC2 to host our application backend APIs but our main problem was scaling, in peak hours we used to replicate our application on some other EC2s an update the traffic from Nginx settings, but this manual effort was hectic and random. So to minimise this issue we adopted EKS, it autoscales our system, we are using HPA for that, also it has nominal cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Overall I haven't seen any disadvantage yet, but sometimes debuging it's issue becomes over head, like backoffs error, livelines, readiness errors, but its best practice to adopt this feature for best user experience. We had scaling issue for our backend APIs but after adopting this we were able to solve this, we can autoscale on memory, CPU usage and network traffic, thats all what we looking for. The best thing about Amazon EKS is it is fully managed by AWS and it can be seamless integrated with other AWS services like Amazon ECR to pull images from the registry and also have fantastic documentation to work with Amazon EKS.
