It was a bad choice of mine. The features are not valuable, just a dashboard full of unusable features. They seem to make features just to make money, not to benefit users. They hang up the calls and don't show interest in improving the service. They seem to charge big companies instead of catering to smaller ones. The setup was full of difficulties. **What problems is Amazon EC2 solving and how is that benefiting you?** Amazon EC2 gave me a remote desktop, essentially providing a new computer from Amazon. ### 2. However, if Amazon had not attempted to customize everything about its platform, less explanation would be needed. **What do you dislike about Amazon EC2?** High costs, lackluster customer support and few safeguards in place to prevent fraud. In addition, their platform is not as reliable as advertised. Amazon has had more than several outages, impacting even high-profile companies. **What problems is Amazon EC2 solving and how is that benefiting you?** Amazon is not solving any problem particularly well and is thus not providing many benefits. If liberating yourself or your company of excess cash is a benefit, use EC2. ### 3. The billing keeps anything unclear and you have to pay for something you don't really use (ex: snapshot, redshift, mistake instances ...) **Recommendations to others considering Amazon EC2:** Be careful with the bill. **What problems is Amazon EC2 solving and how is that benefiting you?** EC2 is really great for me to launch the product. It provides the fastest way to build your own infra. However, in the long run, it's going to cost you a lot more than you think. ### 4. We used the form in their webpage, we have received an email that said that customer care should be in touch with us in the next 24 hours but they never called us. They do not offer chat assistance or telephone assistance. They have very serious problems in this area as they have lost a big client and they do not even know. ### 6. Not very easy to understand or set up. They tried to charge me $4000 for installing Redit. I canceled the service immediately. **Recommendations to others considering Amazon EC2:** If you are a beginner looking to start a web application or website, start with a domain hosting service.
