## Amazon CloudFront Reviews
  ### 1. All Amazon Everything

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cecelia D. | Developer, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Everyone uses Amazon. Their web services platform is already good, now they've added CDN. Their interface reminds me of their site, s it's friendly and familiar. They're also always rolling out updates. As a change fro competitors, they don't have minimum usage requirements - this is nice if you're just tinkering.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

Really nothing. It's a solid platform that does everything that you need it to.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

Don't try to integrate with other hosting or anything. Amazon is a better one-top-shop than an integrated product.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CDN, of course! Adding it on where a customer already leverages AWS.

  ### 2. One of the best, well-known Content Delivery Networks

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

The best feature of Amazon CloudFront is the fact that rely on their own infrastructure and well connected network. The latency and overall performance of the CDN is really good. They also make use of Anycast and Geo-DNS technologies to pick the best Point of Presence to deliver the content to the end-user. Also their real-time metrics are quite useful. Also, as many Amazon AWS services, you only pay for what you really use, so there are no monthly fees or commitments.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

It's not cheap, specially for their PoPs outside the European and American region. It might not be the best choice for video delivery or some bandwidth-intensive projects if you're on a budget.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

Go with Amazon CloudFront if you're looking for a reliable CDN, regardless of the price per gigabyte. But if you're on a budget and you care less about latency and performance, there are other options that can save you a lot of money.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've used Amazon CloudFront as a general purpose CDN for many customers. The quality and performance isn't comparable to other cheaper CDNs.

  ### 3. Fast, secure, reliable, and efficient CDN for static assets.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

CloudFront is extremely fast, includes HTTPS, custom CNAMEs, a thorough and useful API, global edge coverage, and, best of all, you only pay for what you use. Instant purge is always extremely useful, especially during periods of frequent development and change on a website. In addition, S3 integration makes hosting static microsites easier and cheaper than ever.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

CloudFront has a relatively steep learning curve for someone not already immersed in CDN space, making it more difficult to pick up and hit the ground running than a competitor might.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

I would recommend researching all your options and needs thoroughly before you commit, as CloudFront can become convoluted quickly if in inexperienced hands, and you should be sure that your particular technology stack can be utilized with CloudFront without excessive labor by way of implementation.

  ### 4. CloudFront is rad

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin C. | Senior Engineering Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

CloudFront is very easy for developers to start using right away and making a fast impact.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

Not great for non developers and also a learning curve for the configurations.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

Its kind of the biggest one out there

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a front end developer I'm always making sure our sites are optimized as much as possible, and a large part of that is service responsibly sized images/ various assets from a CDN, and CloudFront allows me to do that with ease.

  ### 5. Another Amazing product from Amazon

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohit B. | Student Assistant, Higher Education, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

I have been big fan of amazon cloud technologies and this is one of the best thing you can get under the hood of amazon. The best thing is that using Amazon CloudFront your video is automatically distributed to servers across the world and due to that the live stream flows really smoothly.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

The tool is bit difficult to use as it has really rick features it is bit difficult to find the features which you want to use. It takes bit long to understand the whole thing and how it works.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

I would really recommend people who have heavy live streaming application.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are online live streaming platform and amazon cloudfront made the streaming really smooth.

  ### 6. Excellent performance

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica J. | CAD Design Engineer, Construction, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Cloudfront is reliable, easy to setup, and backed by a reputable company. It has a wide variety of settings for CDN distributions and S3, which allows for heavy customization and tweaking. Overall performance is excellent.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

The pricing is region based. There are cheaper options if you don't need the customization options.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

Set the datacenter location setting to "automatic" to get the fastest speed.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use S3 for the static content and Cloudfront for distribution. Contents such as media contents are served from Cloudfront to ensure speed and delivery time.

  ### 7. Great, Fast CDN

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Availability, scalability, brand name and trust associated with Amazon. Our customers have a greater peace of mind when they hear their products will utilize this CDN.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

This comment is in general towards Amazon cloud offerings. As primarily a Microsoft shop, we don't see consistent support of Microsoft technologies in Amazon APIs. Of course MS has its own ecosystem - but it would be nice if Amazon did embrace some of the more common paradigms that comprise core MS offerings.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using this CDN on daily basis - it is used to host APIs of some of our partners. Over the years, we have only experienced a documented downtime once, which was promptly resolved.

  ### 8. Simple and transparent CDN from public S3 objects

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ferran A. | Senior DevOps engineer, Publishing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

It is very simple to deploy static content world wide. It makes our applications faster with zero maintenance from our end.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

The invalidations are usually slow. We usually do partial invalidations to refresh a bunch of files from S3. This process takes longer than we would expect regarding the amount of files.
It makes code deployments a bit inconsistent. We use it for static web files. Therefore we need to make sure that those assets are updated before the application references them.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

If you use it to serve JS files you will need to maintain origin headers. It will forward CORS configuration from S3 bucket. Unless those headers are right, some browsers are going to show errors and eventually avoid loading files.

  ### 9. AWS Works out the best

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luke A. | Senior Systems Engineer, Building Materials, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

AWS provides a wide range of services that can fit anything or any need.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

The price for putting up to any service is cheap to do. Bringing that data back down is very expensive though. Be very aware of how often you pull data back down.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

Shop around first. Ask the same questions between vendors. Be very specific with use cases. Some of the answers might surprise you. Works great for websites that need to be up 24/7.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Backup storage space for unlimited growth.

Putting that data up to the cloud is cheap but is very expensive to request it back in case of a full restore

  ### 10. No words can express my experience with AWS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anthony J P. | Linux Systems Administrator, Broadcast Media, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Ease of integration and cloud base integration to our environment is key. We manage over 400 nodes on the aws cloud and there are three of us... its ease of use, security, load balancing and autoscaling makes it that more appealing.

Now we our new integration of ansible, we are able to build new environments with just one click

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

the only dislike that I have to not having the ability to switch from one account to another...i have to logout and then log into the other account

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

the ability to create images of our environment and then spin them up with no downtime is key

  ### 11. Simple control, powerful performance

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris L. | E-Commerce Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

The web interface is fantastic, and ability to upload and propagate content via Amazon S3 made things super easy.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

It took a bit to sort out using HTTPS with our own URLs instead of the ones generated by Amazon.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

Makes most sense if you're leveraging Amazon S3

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This dramatically reduced load on our servers, increased responsiveness on our site and that across the world.

  ### 12. Easy to use and very powerful CDN

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tobias S. | IT consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Was very easy to get started. I love that CloudFront has it's own CLI tool! It makes it very convenient for users like me, who prefers to stay in their terminal for as much work as possible. As with all Amazon products, CloudFront ties in excellent with the rest of the infrastructure.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

There's no completely free tier (though you get one year free as a new user) but the price is so low it's negligible. Also if it's your first time working with Amazon Web Services the configuration and setup might seem a little daunting initially.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

If you're already an Amazon customer, using AWS for web hosting, CloudFront is really a no-brainer. Just get it.

  ### 13. Can be Great, but Not for Everyone

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tristan W. | CEO, President, Chairman, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

There was't must about Amazon Cloudfront that I found beneficially. Perhaps it was just because of the application I needed it for, small audiences downloading training content I create.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

I messed around with Amazon Cloudfront for a bit, but I found little to no benefit from using it. It did not increase my traffic nor did it allow me to view analytics on my site that I was interested in. Not saying the application is bad, just not for everyone. Especially not for me (YouTuber and webhost).

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

Add more options to analytic tracking. This was one of the biggest drawbacks in my opinion

  ### 14. The best CDN network I had ever work

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

I like the fact that you can get a working configuration really quick. It integrates deeply with AWS S3 service, so you can have your assets distributed on the CDN in just minutes.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

I don´t think there is something I would not recommend about AWS CF

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

If you are already using other AWS products I´m sure your gonna enjoy CF.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a CDN to distribute the assets of our React.js front-end app. We are building an e-learning platform that reach a big niche of enterprise clients around the world, so speed in content delivery is a must.

  ### 15. Good integration with AWS, extremely slow to update

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel C. | Software Consultant, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Cloudfront has great integration with the rest of the AWS stack, and it's easy to provision and set up and running.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

Cloudfront is extremely, extremely slow to update settings. Most of the time it takes ~30 minutes to update a setting, and about 15 minutes to purge a cache. It's so slow that I sometimes wonder if there is someone running around Amazon with a printout that they need to deliver to someone else to update the servers.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

CloudFront is a great starter solution if you don't need a ton of features, and like the integration with AWS. I would evaluate other solutions if you need anything more complicated.

  ### 16. Easy. Fast. Robust

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oded S. | CTO & Country Manager, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

The ease of management (part of the AWS management tools). Full integration with S3.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

Doesn't have advanced capabilities like image resizing on the fly.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

If you want to have a CDN as part of your ecosystem, you should consider CloudFront.
Its easy, fast, and always working.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Serving images, videos & other assets to our mobile applications and site.

  ### 17. Addition of CertificateManger makes this a no-brainer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris M. | VP of Technology, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Tying in the AWS Certificate manager means that *everyone gets free SSL*. There is NO reason not to have SSL on your hosted static content.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

Can be slow to push updates with the Invalidation process.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

Integrate with the Certificate manger, it's a very simple process and everyone should have SSL on their site (specifically if you're using a custom domain).

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Serves static content for our sites. We try to host our primary site entirely through CloudFront and use AJAX requests to have it pull in the user-specific content and access restricted information.

  ### 18. Wide range of tools and functionality

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Availability, reliability, and accessibility. First of all I was shocked to learn about Amazon 140 Billion Dollar web company. They provide the same customer support you get when you shop at their online store. Great tools and amazing functionality.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

It is a bit expensive. Amazon also doesn't seem to be ahead of the game any more with Google Cloud competing in full force now. I also heard that Dropbox left Amazon web services.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

I think with Google competing aggressively now, Amazon Web services will not be the number 1.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

hosting and deployment

  ### 19. Fast and affordable CDN, but not for everyone

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Recreational Facilities and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Amazon Cloudfront is very fast, and has plenty of edge locations, Their pricing is also very competitive.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

It can be a bit confusing to setup, invalidating is sometimes a pain.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Distributing content at a global scale, quickly and cheaply.

We host a lot of video and photo assets, and struggle to make them easily accessible to global users. We also need to store many different image sizes in order to employ effective responsive image workflows. CloudFront allows us to do this very quickly, and at fairly minimal cost.

  ### 20. The most reliable but not user friendly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gaston M. | Partner, Food & Beverages, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Features, flexibility, customisation, now free real SSL for all endpoints without hassle. Pricing. Among all, speed and reliability, many datacenter around the world.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

The UX is not as nice as say CloudFlare, invalidation is hard to use.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using Cloud front for image caching & reverse proxy.

  ### 21. The best CDN in the market. Simple, reliable, with a fair price.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** João F. | Head Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Simple interface, really easy to start using it within minutes. The pricing, like all other cloud-based services, is fair as you pay what you actually use - no more, no less.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

The only drawback I saw within my use of CloudFront, was the slow replication speed across regions. But I don't think that's something other CDNs are stronger at.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

I used in a situation where I was slowly migrating from local storage, to cloud-based storage and CloudFront was perfect for this. You can select the files you want to store at your own pace. Take notice of usage ratings so you actually use what you are paying.

  ### 22. Robust service and tight integration.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

I love the Cloudfront works well with other parts of the Amazon Web Services platform. This versatility and tight integration make it both easy to use and valuable.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

Performance can be lacking dependent on the region you are targeting. Signing up for their service gives you access to a lot of auxiliary services you may not need.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

CloudFront is a great option if you are looking for price, performance and the stability the AWS provides.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having image assets delivered regionally proved to be advantageous for our clients. This fact coupled with competitive pricing makes this a hard service to beat - especially if you are already within the AWS ecosystem.

  ### 23. Best service for a limited budget!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

One advantage to CloudFront is that your website can get its booster shot within minutes of using. It is incredibly easy. The best part is the interface showing you results, its the best I've seen for a limited budget.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

I haven't found anything I really disliked. The only issue I had was reading the results and some off balance. That could be because I accidentally loaded the wrong file. I read that this is a common issue, the change isn't caught right away.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

I highly recommend this product. Easy to use and very affordable.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Looking for a product that actually proved results but was within our budget.

  ### 24. Simple, cheap, easy to use, and world wide delivery quickly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

The ease of use and the price. It's super quick to setup especially if your already using EC2 instances along side it.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

Documentation is not the greatest. I find using other sites better than Amazon's actual docs.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

Definitely worth a try, it's cheap and easy to use.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Offloading asset hosting saves app server loads, and allows us to keep apps snappy.

  ### 25. Reliable and Hassle free Content delivery network

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2015

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

One of the advantage of using cloud front especially if you are using amazon web services, you do not have to look at another service provider only for content delivery network.

Cloud front does most of the things that many big companies does it for you. Also one does not have to go through hassle of contracts and agreement and usage limits.

Cloud front comes with the pay as you go model. You can park the data on s3 like videos, files images and audio and stream it through cloud front.

Many media streaming companies are already using cloudfront in production of the content delivery.

Cloud front comes with encryption options so one does not worry about the security of the media or content.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

Supports the content which exists only on s3. Non- s3 does not support.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

If you can looking for plug and play CDN, cloud front is the best product.

  ### 26. Cloudfront FTW for Projects Small and Large

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** C. Spencer B. | Senior Software Engineer, Staffing and Recruiting, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

AWS does API better than anyone else, handsdown. It makes it much less complicated than, say, Akamai, which is much more difficult to use via their API. The prices is right too.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

The Invalidations are a bit old school. Fastly is an example of a CDN that had an incredible invalidation system. On the other hand, I like to version my objects, so I don't really use Invalidations all that much.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

Stop torturing your devs with inferior CDNs.

  ### 27. Built for speed

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tony T. | Master Test Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

The speed is far and away better than any other web service distribution software.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

So far it has been the best we have used. Nothing to dislike...Yet.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

If you have a speed problem delivering content, give this a long, hard look.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had an extreme latency problem when delivering dynamic HTML content. That lag is almost nonexistent now.

  ### 28. Cloudfront allows web developers to reduce the pageload speed of their websites tenfold.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** D. Marshall L. | Owner and CEO, Computer Networking, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2015

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Cloudfront offers incredible speed on a worldly scale(Cloudfront and S3 are on all major continents). The ability for the user to tweak content settings - both for static and streaming content - allows for unlimited possibilities with regard to content delivery across the globe.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

For first-time users, the act of going from S3-based content delivery to CloudFront-based delivery is not trivial; it requires knowledge of AWS methodology and the general understanding of high-volume content delivery.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

Do your research on implementing CloudFront and the AWS API (in the programming language you plan on using) before diving in and trying to hack together the service.

  ### 29. Great. Very quick, super easy to use with S3.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

I like how easy it is to integrate with S3, as we use this for many other purposes.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

There are some other cheaper options available now I believe.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

I highly recommend it, no problems at all.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Faster loading for assets around the world; servers closer to users.

  ### 30. Enjoyable Experience with AWS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Really enjoying using command-line python client, s3cmd to interface.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

Tech support would be a big improvement. For example Google apps offers great tech support. For AWS, unless I missed something, the user is totally on our own.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

Stackoverflow is a good resource.

  ### 32. Cost Effective CDN and Static Site Hosting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Curtis R. | Solutions Architect, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 12, 2015

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

CloudFront is a fantastically simple CDN solution for the masses. Its built upon the highly reliable and available Amazon S3 and offers lots of the features offered by its competitors. The thing that makes it stand out to me is the static site hosting. This is something that is often overlooked when considering where to host static files, but its incredibly cost effective, can stream video files, can handle custom domain names and doesn't require setting up or managing an EC2 instance.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

When it comes to streaming video, its good, but in my opinion Akamai does a better job and is a bit more reliable across devices and platforms. That's not to say CloudFront isn't great at it though and that you won't be successful using it.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

If you're developing "native" JavaScript applications with tools like Angular or Ampersand, seriously look at using CloudFront for the combination of CDN and static hosting. This will save you a TON of money and will help ensure your applications are delivered as quickly as possible to your users.

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

We currently use Amazon Cloudfront to distribute a few videos on our website. After setting up the account, it was easy to start distributing our rich media.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

Account set up was a bit arduous. There are a few steps to getting content up and running. Once everything is up, it's a breeze.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

There's a misconception that CDN's aren't affordable. After evaluating and using both Akamai and Limelight, I was afraid that we'd be facing a steep price tag to stream simple videos. Not so. Amazon Cloudfront, for us, is less than $10 a month.
