## Amazon CloudFront Reviews
  ### 1. A solid CDN and a no-brainer for serving S3 content on the web

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucas H. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Connecting this to my S3 buckets was relatively painless, even though I'm not an experienced systems admin. There was no additional cost, since we simply paid for CloudFront transfers instead of S3 transfers. And speed is good if not blazing.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

I'm not sure that the speed gains were as dramatic as I might hope for, and my impression is that for content hosted off S3 the integration is a little more involved.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used S3 and CloudFront to serve website content, both audio and document, to visitors around the world. The site itself was not hosted on Amazon servers.

  ### 2. Great CDN with many

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

I really appreciate Amazon CloudFront for its exceptional content delivery capabilities. It's incredibly fast and reliable, ensuring that web content and applications load quickly for users worldwide. The extensive global network of edge locations ensures low latency, and its integration with other AWS services simplifies content management and distribution. Plus, the security features, such as DDoS protection and SSL/TLS support, make me feel confident about the safety of my content. Having loads of PoPs makes Cloudfront a great CDN for every company.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

One of the main drawbacks is its pricing structure, which can be complex to understand, especially for users with varying traffic patterns. Costs can add up quickly, and it's crucial to monitor usage closely to avoid unexpected expenses. It's really hard to predict traffic spikes and therefore not really possible to create good estimations.
Additionally I find it sometimes hard to debug CloudFront, especially if you have Edge Functions.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CloudFront reduces the Time To First Byte for our customers and helps us deliver content much quicker while also reducing resoures consumed by servers. If configured correctly, CloudFront can save you a lot of money on the computing side while also speeding up you application.

  ### 3. Amazon CloudFront : The best content delivery network (CDN) service operated by Amazon Web Services

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** sooraj s. | Specialist - Cloud Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

CloudFront helps distribute content with low latency and high data transfer rates by serving requests using a network of edge locations around the world and it acts as a distribution static content that benefits from edge delivery

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

debugging is more difficult when compared to other CDNs, CloudFront is a bit complex in Calculating exact pricing, and CloudFront lacks the ability to backup.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CloudFront is one of the best CDNs out there, It improves the reliability and availability of content by storing copies of objects in multi-edge locations worldwide,
It has a feature called Content Privacy has a high level of security using HTTP and HTTPS protocols for rapidly delivering content.

  ### 4. Great coice if you are already using AWS

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

It is an excellent choice if you are already using AWS because the integration becomes easy and you can leverage other AWS Services with Cloudfront to achieve compliance and security things. But then it comes with a cost

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

Complex pricing. It is very hard to calculate the pricing for CloudFront usage. It should offer more out of the box.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Latency and Speed: Websites and applications often serve users from various geographical locations. Delivering content from a single location can result in high latency for users far from that location. CloudFront solves this by distributing content across a global network of edge locations, ensuring that users access content from the nearest data center.

Benefit: Faster website load times, smoother streaming experiences, and reduced server response times, leading to improved user satisfaction and potential SEO advantages.
Scalability: Handling sudden spikes in web traffic can be challenging. CloudFront automatically scales to accommodate varying traffic loads without requiring manual intervention.

Benefit: Businesses can confidently handle traffic surges, like during product launches or viral events, without service disruptions.
Security: Web assets are often targeted by malicious attacks, including DDoS attacks. CloudFront provides built-in security features, including SSL/TLS for content encryption and integration with AWS Shield and AWS WAF.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ian N. | Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Quick and easy integration with Amazon S3. If you already using S3 then adding a CDN with Cloudfront is very straight forward. CloudFront has plenty of points of presence around the world and the price isn't bad.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

CloudFront is very basic. it provides edge caching of your assets on their servers, but does not come with any extras such as image/video optimization or automatic file type selection based on client browser.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CloudFront provides a simple-to-use CDN and is very affordable, especially when tied with Amazon S3. CloudFront worked very well for our e-commerce website to speed up the delivery of images and CSS/JS assets.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

The main point which i dislike in Amazon CloudFront is that, not more technological stacks can be used. And even if any technical support is needed, the assistance fee is comparatively greater than other web services

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being a fast content delivery network, Amazon CloudFront deals with dynamic web contents easily as it offers customising options before streaming across the internet. This customisation makes it more approachable to big companies !

  ### 10. One of the Fastest CDNs and good features with old UI

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emre T. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2018

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

They have several CDN points all over the world. Good Cdn for our websites. I'm currenty use for my 7 websites. It has file (images, pdfs, videos etc) compression feature in the system too. You can find advanced use newest TLS 2018 But there is no POPs (points) on Turkey (Istanbul, Ankara etc.) although others have.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

ui is old. maybe they should improve and use more user friendly UI. Current UI is complicated for first time users. you need to adjust. Purging option is not good, also it is hard.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

If you are looking for CDN and has point on your country of the website host, select Amazon.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CDN. I'm using for my websites as CDN solution.

  ### 11. Cloudfront review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan A. | Senior Developer, Computer Software, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2018

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

It is very easy to set up, especially if your source is in S3.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

A single file is limited to 20GB, which in today's day and age, is insufficient.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

Increase document size support to at least 500GB per file. Multimedia files are large, noise files are larger. There is no need to limit it to 20GB if S3 can support unlimited object size.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

quick access to content for global users.

  ### 12. Simple, Cheap and Effective

We have set up ci/cd for our deployment and we can deploy at any time of the day without affecting customers,

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

It is not always easy to navigate thru the options we have to setup different seetings like for example adding new cache behaviors, i wish there was something in the console that would give you a quick example popup and a link

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

out ability to deploy seamlessly and at any time all acrros the world. we have customer from all over, and their experience is enhanced with us deploying to edge locations that are near them

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

it is simple to manage it, and it works.
overall in most places the exp. is good

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

in Israel CF doesnt have good enough service
the distribution creation takes 30 min
and the system doesnt have enough server side analytics - for example users analytics like we have on player side, are not exposed to the servewr side

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

scale of viewers

  ### 14. Good CDN

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2018

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Ability to customize the domain that assets display as being delivered from.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

Integration can be difficult with decoupled systems but this is probably more of a weakness with the content creation service.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Serving media from S3 buckets to different sites and customizing the domain that the media is displayed from.

  ### 15. no expectations

in my previous organization, it did what it promised, all associated with saving money

  ### 16. a great tool but it can improve

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2018

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

easy to set up, efficient cdn, easier enforcement of https

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

modifying a distribution takes up to 1 hour to take effect without any feedback

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

be patient and always test your cdn changes first

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

cdn to static apps, or react frontends

Improving network latency for media downloads

  ### 18. Great service - good cause

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2018

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Hiding S3 buckets. This is asking for far too many chars

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

Key setup This is asking for far too many chars

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

Beats Akami

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CDN plus obfuscating S3 buckets

  ### 19. Great CDN!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luis E. | Consultor de Marketing Digital y Comercio Electrónico, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2018

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

It has a lot of POP's and the integration with websites and custom developments it's easier and faster than with other CDN tools.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

That it doesn't suppor Brotli compression, just GZIP.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

Great to have highly available content in the world.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Static content availability for websites and developments. The main benefit is all the infrastructure that amazon has to make the content highly worldwide available.

  ### 20. Super easy to set up

Super easy to understand and set up for everyone. Amazon provides enough documentation to help you out. Console is super friendly ui.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

Can get quite expensive so choose your setting wisely when setting up.q

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

just be careful of the costs before implementing.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

delivering media, s3 is not enough, its quite expensive plus can be latency. cloud front has lots of edge locations to eliminate the latency.

  ### 21. Solid CDN that works great if you use Amazon services

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew G. | Director of Customer Experience, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Seriously simple CDN. We already host everything on AWS so using this was a breeze. We use it to deliver 720p resolution images to about 3M devices each week and it's never given us problems. Setting it up took no time and then it just works like any other asset link. We access them via a chromecast app and it's flawless.

We manage everything in normal S3 buckets so literally the process is identical, we just drop files into the cdn folder in S3 and follow the links. No learning curve for anyone and nothing new to mess up, it's as seemless as it can be!

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

If you accidentally upload a wrong file or need to make changes your assets are immediately cached so you need to upload the edited version under a new name and re-deploy. Not the biggest issue but it would be great if there were a simple way to nuke the cache on the entire CDN but that's just not feasible! Need to just be precise and redeploy new links if a mistake is made. It happens sporadically.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

If you're already using AWS/S3 this will be the easiest tech implementation experience you've ever had! Yes you'll need to have been the one who set up S3 but it'll be super fast and easy and your asset load times will be SO MUCH BETTER. Try it, you'll love it. Did I mention it's super affordable, too? Just make sure to compress your stuff, we use WebP files for images.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rapid deployment and loading across multiple territories. We serve 2M+ users and that data needs to get there!

  ### 22. Excellent worldwide distribution for video content

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sheehan A. | Software Engineering Manager, Pro Team Services, Sports, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

- Easy setup for developers
- Integrates well with existing data and applications hosted on AWS
- Automatically streams video and website content at edge locations without any transcoding or difficult setup
- Strong API interface if you need to automate setup or dashboards
- Good API documentation and provided SDK's for custom development

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

- Vendor lock-in can be a turn-off to potential buyers. Moving off of CloudFront will require moving storage and routes.
- Requires some knowledge of AWS stack.
- Console interface is clunky and sometimes doesn't work
- Cache lives long at times, and requires some configuration

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

If you are already invested in the AWS platform, CloudFront is an excellent choice as it integrates very well with S3. AWS also offers consolidated billing, so from a financial perspective all of your IT costs can be organized under a single LOB. As for the system itself, it does a great job of distributing your content to the regions you host your servers and where your customers live, worldwide.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Distributing video content reliably can be expensive and require complex system setups. CloudFront handles the distribution and media streaming so that you can focus on your business applications. If you are already invested in the AWS stack, tight integration with S3 makes storage and distribution simple.

  ### 23. Integrates really well with other Amazon services

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex F. | Freelance, Entertainment, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

It allows us to distribute the assets for our websites across the globe, meaning that wherever a user is, our assets are physically close to them. It means that they can pull down fonts, CSS, JS and images faster than our application servers could ever supply them. It integrates really well with the rest of Amazon's web services.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

I find the dashboard to be really complicated, and I wish that Amazon's management console did not force you to only be in one locality at a time - at times I would like to be able to see CDN servers from across the globe instead of just the ones in the region I happen to be logged into.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

I would also consider Akamai and other similarly priced CDNs if I did not use other Amazon web services. It is relatively expensive, and there are better options to be had outside the Amazon ecosystem.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

By using a CDN, our application servers and our data centres are now free to use their bandwidth serving the actual meat of the web requests without being bogged down by assets. It means that clients' sites load faster and more reliably.

  ### 24. Cloudfront for software and web site availability

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Morten P. | COO, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

The ease of setting up Cloudfront and pushing out new updates is probably the feature I like the most about Cloudfront. It follows the pattern of the rest of the AWS stack, great administrative interfaces, easy to understand, quick to setup. As a bonus, you get a interface, showing you how the traffic is hitting on the different edge instances you have. These logs can also be easily obtained for use in your own tracking systems.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

I have at times experienced that the speed of download from the edges are slow, before a few downloads have happened. I have not investigated it any further, but it looks like the edge files are not cached or something similar until someone have actually requested them? When the files have been downloaded a few times, the speed is great and as expected.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

As with all AWS tools, this is easy and quick to set up. We would recommend you to have a central monitoring system to add the CloudFront logfiles into. This will enable you to get even greater value out of the information that CloudFront offers to you. I.e. use a tool like Kibana to be able to drilldown into the logfiles.

  ### 25. CDN by Amazon!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Taylor P. | Cloud Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

As with all things AWS, it has a very powerful API that can tie in with your other AWS resources. It also has support for Amazon's ACM, which can provide free SSL certificates for your sites.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

Amazon doesn't have as many edge servers as some other CDN providers, and it doesn't have as much analytic information as other solutions.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

CloudFront is a good starting point for CDN if you are using other AWS services. There are other CDNs with more powerful features, but CF is a good place to start.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cloudfront provides CDN features directly within the AWS environment. It is easy to provision and manage with automated tools, which reduces administration time. As a CDN, it reduces server load and speeds up content delivery to end users.

  ### 26. Great service

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

It is a neat service tighly integrated with Amazon Cloud.

It is designed to further abstract away the details of the platform. You can simply upload a file to your website. The resources associated with the file are provisioned automatically, and scaling is handled by the system. If the event volume goes up, causing the file to be downloaded more often, more resources will be allocated; as volume drops, resources will be cut, possibly to zero. Assets are strictly pay-per-use, meaning that if a function isn't called, it costs nothing.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

User interface is not so great and power features can only be implemented with API calls.

Invalidations are expensive, so it's better to drop the whole bucket. ... Other services simply have button to invalidate all and do not have a 1,000 invalidations limit to begin charging per invalidation.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

Amazon CloudFront must be implemented with any Amazon EC2 web server. It helps to distrute the processing load in a consistent architecture.

Poke around the infrastructure of any small or medium website or mobile app these days, and you're bound to find something other than a web server and a database, a CDN is doing much of the heavy lifting, publishing static assets.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Server network overload. Load distibution. The service really helps to reduce the load in a web application server.

  ### 27. Great CDN and super affordable

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bradley H. | Chief Technology Officer + Co-Founder, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Cloudfront is about as good as you can get in the cost/performance ratio. Other competitors can compete in certain categories, but overall Cloudfront wins. I've been using it as my CDN for nearly every side project and company I've worked for in the last 6 years.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

The only real issue I have with cloudfront is the learning curve can be a bit high. AWS's control panel is a bit of a nightmare and figuring out stuff like setting permissions and TTL can take a while.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

If you need a faster CDN with a simpler interface and faster cache invalidation, check out Fastly, but be prepared to pony up the $... For general use, Cloudfront is awesome

  ### 28. excellent set of features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff M. | Data Architect, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

lots of different features can be applied and integrated into your AWS instances such as domain names for your instances and disk storage volume as well as load balancing

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

the user interface can be challenging sometimes and hard to find the information you require, also the customer service can be hard to reach and get responses.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

would recommend customers consider cloudfront but also compare it's cost of ownership against running development/test/QA servers in-house on cheap hardware, and also look at other providers such as exoscale and linode and heroku to compare costs

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we run part of our business on AWS currently in order to cut our operating hardware costs., we also refer some of our customers to the AWS services when they are looking for cloud based solutions to run applications or databases

  ### 29. Not the easiest to set up, but does a great job at a reasonable cost

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John E. | Website Manager, Computer Hardware, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

low cost, high performance CDN backed by Amazon's massive infrastructure. Although not the easiest to figure out at first, Amazon provides solid documentation, and there is a wealth of other 'how-to' articles to be found online.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

Unless you work in opps/dev-opps, you might find the interface a bit arcane. I would have been lost without documentation and third-party how-to guides.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

Despite the initial learning curve, I see a lot of value for Amazon CloudFront. I use it primarily to help speed up static websites hosted on S3 buckets. With S3, Route 53, CloudFront and a good static site generating system (Jekyll or Middleman, for example) you can create a blazing fast website that will scale to a ton of traffic, if needed. At the same time, costs are reasonable.
I can only comment on the benefit to small projects, but in that regard, CloudFront excels and is well worth the somewhat steep learning curve.

  ### 30. A Versatile CDN from Amazon

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eduardo S. | Web Programmer, Wholesale, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Cloudfront is what one needs when using AWS, it has everything a cdn needs to have and only some steps of configuration. It serves files very fast, caching is outstanding, we are very happy with it.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

There are no things to dislike as it fulfills the expectations.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

Use it if you're using AWS, other than that you can just look for a cheaper cdn out there.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Content delivery, AWS integration, site protection, resources caching and worldwide support.

  ### 31. Performance CDN

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonas F. | System- und Netzwerk Administrator, Internet, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Very performant CDN including free SSL. You need to store a lot of files or assets which are under heavy load? CloudFront is the way to go since it automatically scales the necessary web servers for your needs.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

The web interface is not that intuitive in my opinion. If you never worked with Amazon Web Services before, it can be quite overwhelming.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

Take some time to get used to the Amazon Console. You'll get there!

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Serving lots of big downloads for loads of people.

  ### 32. All Amazon Everything

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cecelia D. | Developer, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Everyone uses Amazon. Their web services platform is already good, now they've added CDN. Their interface reminds me of their site, s it's friendly and familiar. They're also always rolling out updates. As a change fro competitors, they don't have minimum usage requirements - this is nice if you're just tinkering.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

Really nothing. It's a solid platform that does everything that you need it to.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

Don't try to integrate with other hosting or anything. Amazon is a better one-top-shop than an integrated product.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CDN, of course! Adding it on where a customer already leverages AWS.

  ### 33. Simple and transparent CDN from public S3 objects

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ferran A. | Senior DevOps engineer, Publishing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

It is very simple to deploy static content world wide. It makes our applications faster with zero maintenance from our end.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

The invalidations are usually slow. We usually do partial invalidations to refresh a bunch of files from S3. This process takes longer than we would expect regarding the amount of files.
It makes code deployments a bit inconsistent. We use it for static web files. Therefore we need to make sure that those assets are updated before the application references them.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

If you use it to serve JS files you will need to maintain origin headers. It will forward CORS configuration from S3 bucket. Unless those headers are right, some browsers are going to show errors and eventually avoid loading files.

  ### 34. Easy to use and very powerful CDN

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tobias S. | IT consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Was very easy to get started. I love that CloudFront has it's own CLI tool! It makes it very convenient for users like me, who prefers to stay in their terminal for as much work as possible. As with all Amazon products, CloudFront ties in excellent with the rest of the infrastructure.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

There's no completely free tier (though you get one year free as a new user) but the price is so low it's negligible. Also if it's your first time working with Amazon Web Services the configuration and setup might seem a little daunting initially.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

If you're already an Amazon customer, using AWS for web hosting, CloudFront is really a no-brainer. Just get it.

  ### 35. Wide range of tools and functionality

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Availability, reliability, and accessibility. First of all I was shocked to learn about Amazon 140 Billion Dollar web company. They provide the same customer support you get when you shop at their online store. Great tools and amazing functionality.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

It is a bit expensive. Amazon also doesn't seem to be ahead of the game any more with Google Cloud competing in full force now. I also heard that Dropbox left Amazon web services.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

I think with Google competing aggressively now, Amazon Web services will not be the number 1.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

hosting and deployment

  ### 36. Fast and affordable CDN, but not for everyone

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Recreational Facilities and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Amazon Cloudfront is very fast, and has plenty of edge locations, Their pricing is also very competitive.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

It can be a bit confusing to setup, invalidating is sometimes a pain.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Distributing content at a global scale, quickly and cheaply.

We host a lot of video and photo assets, and struggle to make them easily accessible to global users. We also need to store many different image sizes in order to employ effective responsive image workflows. CloudFront allows us to do this very quickly, and at fairly minimal cost.

  ### 37. Robust service and tight integration.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

I love the Cloudfront works well with other parts of the Amazon Web Services platform. This versatility and tight integration make it both easy to use and valuable.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

Performance can be lacking dependent on the region you are targeting. Signing up for their service gives you access to a lot of auxiliary services you may not need.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

CloudFront is a great option if you are looking for price, performance and the stability the AWS provides.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having image assets delivered regionally proved to be advantageous for our clients. This fact coupled with competitive pricing makes this a hard service to beat - especially if you are already within the AWS ecosystem.

  ### 38. Best service for a limited budget!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

One advantage to CloudFront is that your website can get its booster shot within minutes of using. It is incredibly easy. The best part is the interface showing you results, its the best I've seen for a limited budget.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

I haven't found anything I really disliked. The only issue I had was reading the results and some off balance. That could be because I accidentally loaded the wrong file. I read that this is a common issue, the change isn't caught right away.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

I highly recommend this product. Easy to use and very affordable.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Looking for a product that actually proved results but was within our budget.

  ### 39. Built for speed

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tony T. | Master Test Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

The speed is far and away better than any other web service distribution software.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

So far it has been the best we have used. Nothing to dislike...Yet.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

If you have a speed problem delivering content, give this a long, hard look.

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had an extreme latency problem when delivering dynamic HTML content. That lag is almost nonexistent now.

  ### 40. Cloudfront allows web developers to reduce the pageload speed of their websites tenfold.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** D. Marshall L. | Owner, Computer Networking, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2015

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Cloudfront offers incredible speed on a worldly scale(Cloudfront and S3 are on all major continents). The ability for the user to tweak content settings - both for static and streaming content - allows for unlimited possibilities with regard to content delivery across the globe.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

For first-time users, the act of going from S3-based content delivery to CloudFront-based delivery is not trivial; it requires knowledge of AWS methodology and the general understanding of high-volume content delivery.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

Do your research on implementing CloudFront and the AWS API (in the programming language you plan on using) before diving in and trying to hack together the service.

  ### 41. Cloud front questionnaire

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

Integration with other AWS services and easy SSL integration.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

I found it quite slow. It would often take several minutes for each operation.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

It didn't yet integrate with tools, e.g. Terraform, which is my preferred method of managing AWS infrastructure.

  ### 42. Cost Effective CDN and Static Site Hosting

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Curtis R. | Solutions Architect, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 12, 2015

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

CloudFront is a fantastically simple CDN solution for the masses. Its built upon the highly reliable and available Amazon S3 and offers lots of the features offered by its competitors. The thing that makes it stand out to me is the static site hosting. This is something that is often overlooked when considering where to host static files, but its incredibly cost effective, can stream video files, can handle custom domain names and doesn't require setting up or managing an EC2 instance.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

When it comes to streaming video, its good, but in my opinion Akamai does a better job and is a bit more reliable across devices and platforms. That's not to say CloudFront isn't great at it though and that you won't be successful using it.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

If you're developing "native" JavaScript applications with tools like Angular or Ampersand, seriously look at using CloudFront for the combination of CDN and static hosting. This will save you a TON of money and will help ensure your applications are delivered as quickly as possible to your users.

  ### 43. Easy to use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Networking | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

CloudFront has rich features to meet all my needs, and it's console is very easy to use. Its price is relatively low.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

After I apply my config, it takes a long time to take effect

**What problems is Amazon CloudFront solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To speed up my website.

  ### 44. Amazon CloudFront overall experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2016

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

The best fit for static content distribution World Wide availability is it so easy .

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

Update time when content change in the S3 buckets

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

Evaluate your CI and CD strategy well to avoid long waits times when delivering new content

  ### 45. Seamless Integration

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael F. | Senior Technical Account Manager, Team Lead, Computer Software, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2012

**What do you like best about Amazon CloudFront?**

AWS seamlessly integrates into the Amazon platform, and makes it a very easy to use and easy to integrate solution.

**What do you dislike about Amazon CloudFront?**

Lack of non-amazon support is lacking, so if you have a hybrid cloud, a lot of extraneous work is necessary.

**Recommendations to others considering Amazon CloudFront:**

AWS works great if you are in the EC2 space, this is an essential add-on for you.
