We have also used DynomoDB but since my project requirment was particula and we dont need document type db which would grow unexpectedly in terms of schema and data then we switched to postgresql as it would minimise client cost and was much lighted on the development side to handle the data. In Aurora DB the best feature that I liked is managed database backups and security edges. For me I used postgres and it was way relible to create DB instances. Scheduling the daily snapshot of DB,it actually helped us once we mistakenly lost our data, it was easy to restore the snapshot of DB. On other hand it is cost effective db solution. The biggest thing about Aurora is it's scalability. Its automatic, high availability, easily diversifying your deployment into multiple AZ's and regions is incredible. However I don't sleep on it's performance either, which is able to keep up (and them some) with any MPP database deployment. It's easy to use, and comes in different tech stack deployments. The minimum and maximum ACU configuration provides me with an advantage to plan for smaller units of queries while simultaneously handling really compute-intensive queries through the same connection.
