With my old setup, scaling means spending hous meeting with configurration and hoping nothing broke. With Auroa its all automatic. It scales up the storage and processing power to handle it. Easy to build, use and maintain relational database managed by aws **Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2024 **What do you like best about Amazon Aurora?** there are no overheads on building the database instance and maintaining it. aws makes it very easy to implement the database instance and terminate if we decide to not use. we can also stop the instance temporarily, which helps save the cost. we can start with a small instance and easily scale up as the load increases. security patches are managed by aws, which is convenient. backup for the rds can be scheduled in the console itself. support is available instantly in aws, which gives us a confidence. **What do you dislike about Amazon Aurora?** aws does not provide a console based sql client, hence we have to depend on a third party client to access the aurora database. otherwise, i dont see any issues with using aurora. integration with the client is easy though. **What problems is Amazon Aurora solving and how is that benefiting you?** can easily prototype with the rds aurora instance and decide if it serves the use case or not. for any relational database needs starting from a simple application to a complex one, aurora can handle it. if its a simple application, we can go with a smaller instance, which would cost less and then later decide to upgrade when the appliction grows. ### 18.
